Is This Considered Cheating on Twilight?

I swear I'm not cheating on Edward! I could never, ever abandon all that is Twilight!

However, there is another series of books that I am secretly in love with that all you twihards might also enjoy. I hide these books behind the Hemingway and Orwell novels when guests come over because they are really ooey gooey brain porn. I need to come out of my closets one step at a time, ya know?

The series is called Women of the Underworld by Kelley Armstrong. They are basically sci-fi/fantasy romance novels that involve werewolves, demons, vampires, etc. She's a pretty good writer and I've read all the books in the series so far.

Normally, I find this genre of writing to be, well, really bad. But Kelley Armstrong can definitely hold her own. Her Women of the Underworld series is definitely geared towards adults but she also recently started another series for young adults, called Darkest Powers that I'm assuming doesn't have sex involved.

Who knows? Maybe one of these days I'll be posting links to my own silly sci-fi romance novels! (Not likely to happen any time soon since blogging about Twilight and watching the movie over and over again is taking up a lot of my time!)

That being said, I still promise that the Twilight series (and RPatz) will always have a special place in my heart... (I think I heard an audible gasp coming from Snarky about 80 miles away when I told her I was writing this up)

  2. ha! Technically, I cheated on the Otherworld with Twilight, since I started reading those years ago.

They are a good series but nowhere NEAR as good as Twilight. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go look at the RPatz GQ picture again... (if this is bad, I don't wanna be good!)

  8. Huh, I tried to read other books like Twilight but I can't get into them. I haven't had a sick obsession with another series except for Harry Potter but that was innocent childs play compared to my Twilight obsession.

Just thinking about Rob's GQ picture makes me need to go look at it some more. C-ya!

  9. If you looking for a bit more "action" than is found in Twilight (which I am also obsessed with), I would highly recommend the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris (they are also called The Southern Vampire Mysteries). The are the inspiration for the show on HBO called "True Blood". They ahve the same draw and magnetism as Twilight, but are not so... chaste. Looking to get out of vamps? Check out the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Time travel, hot Scottish men, and non-chasteness.... oohhh goody!

  10. I am back reading your blog, so apologies if you have mentioned this before, but you should check out Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter series. It's chock-full of Vampires, (albeit, they are the bad guys), Ware wolves and other such phenomena. Really is great, I has the romantic save the girl type stuff, but also some pretty dirty lemons! Each book has it's own hero, but they all tie in together. I recommend Acheron for a good starting point.
