OMEOMEOMEOMEOME!!! IT'S GETTING CLOOOOSER!!!

I'll see you and you and most definitely YOU in 100 days...

Whew - I may need a moment to compose myself!!

OK... But SQUEEEEE!!! I don't remember ever, ever EVER being this excited about the impending release of a movie, but I suppose that the whole Twilight experience has resulted in a litany of "firsts" for me - first time I went nuts for a teen romance saga...and vampires...and an actor...and a movie...wait, make that "movies"...never blogged before...wasn't even really aware of the existence of blogs, truth be told! And now look at me - I'm a total Twitard (and an enabler, too)!

I have been - for the most part - not paying much attention to the ubiquitous "New Moon Countdown" clocks that are everywhere in the TwiBloggy kingdom... They're like Christmas carols around the holidays when you work in retail: after a while, they just blend into the background (mercifully).

But today (er, or tomorrow, or maybe even yesterday, depending on where you live) is a very important milestone: only 100 days left until the premiere of New Moon! SQUEEE!!! Seriously, I may need to start marking the days in little groups of five scratched on the walls of my bedroom or something. OK, that might not fly with Mr. Snarky; maybe the closet instead?? Anyway, I cannot even begin to tell you how excited JJ and I are for this movie to come out. Given the level of anticipation we feel RIGHT THIS VERY MOMENT, we may just explode - or implode - as 11/20 draws near.

Here at Twitarded, we're already plotting how we'll spend the days before the big event! I've already requested vacation time from the daily grind - woooo! That's right: I am taking not one but TWO days off of work for this (er, although I didn't exactly explain to anyone that I needed 11/19 and 11/20 off so that I could go whip myself into a Twilight frenzy at my local movie theater, but still...). I don't remember the last time I took vacation time to go sit in a parking lot. In November. In New Jersey. Um, ok, I have NEVER taken a vacation like this, for better or for worse. But I have the feeling this won't be the last time!

They're gonna have to cart me (and FSE, because he's definitely coming along for the ride that night! I'll buy him a ticket and everything!) outta that movie theater after twenty three straight showings - I'll be on a gurney and they'll be administering pure oxygen and maybe fluids and stuff... My ears will be bleeding and I will have lost my voice (we should probably warn the medics to be on the lookout for "Squee!"-related injuries that weekend, right??).

I. Can't. Wait.

So what are you doing on November 20th??? And don't tell me you aren't already making plans 'cause I know you!

: )

In keeping with the "100 Days" theme, please enjoy this fabulous performance of 100 Days, 100 Nights by Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings. Now I've gotta go start picking out an outfit...

SQUEEE!

  2. I can't wait! This is my favorite book of the series, so I cannot wait to see how the film turns out. I have already informed my man that we'll be seeing it opening night :)

  3. sqqqqqqqqquuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuueeeeee i don't know what else to sayy!

none of my friends are as obsessed. so i might just go on my own, you know so nobody interrupts my sqee-ing, crying, and possible orgasm-ing

    thats normal right?

  4. OMG is it really already 100 days only? Those ticker clocks have gone on in the background on blogs I visit for months now that I haven't paid attention.

NJ isn't bad! I'm going to the mall theater, with a handful of my girlfriends (who aren't NEARLY as OCD as me, but they'll go). It's actually my BFF's birthday on the 19th, so I'll be draggin' her to the midnight showing and hopefully she won't be too drunk to pay attention to Rob's sparkly bod. I'm almost tempted to make us all Bedazzled shirts to wear to the showing, just because I want to make one that points my mom out in sparkling red rhinestones as an official Twi-Mom (she just finished Breaking Dawn last night). I know that would be a wasted effort because she would never wear it.

  5. Ok I admit it I have big plans for this special weekend, and yeah i´ll take also off. I need to do that because the German release is January, so I have to make sure that I´ll see it!
And yes me too, I´ve never ever counted days for a movie release.

@I Punch - I am meeting 2 Twihard girlfriends in Atlanta to see the flick. ATL seemed like an easy place for us to get a direct (and hopefully cheap!) flight in to. You are welcome to join us :) Anyone is, actually. Twihards UNITE!

  7. so..as for me I am technically supposed to be giving birth on November 19th, but if this baby is still in there on the 20th I am still going to see New Moon. I mean I WILL make it a priority to see it as soon as i can if I happen to be in the hospital for the 20th..whats a girl to do...

    ReplyDelete
  8. I am so freaking excited!!!! Yes, I too have been planning. I have already asked DH to take the 19th off to take care of the kiddos and bring me the baby to nurse at regular intervals while I camp out to get a good seat for the midnight showing. Dead serious.

  9. The 20th being an official holiday in Mexico, we get the day off anyway, so EVERYBODY's going to be there! That's not pretty but I HAVE to go, I have to be brave and try to deal with teen girls all over the place.

  10. More power to you for taking the vacation days in anticipation for opening night. I can't wait to read your post the next day of the play by play.

I don't know if I have it in me to see the movie opening night. Even though I'm a mother, I hate kids (other people's kids, mine is ok). It is going to be a sea of teen and Moxie might hurt someone.

  11. I'll be at Clifton Commons for that midnight showing!

I'm happy to report that my Twilight fan recruitment means that I don't have to go alone like last time.

  12. man i live in a hick town that wont have new moon here till months after and only ONCE tho i have started begging my mum to watch my daughter and my bf to drive me 4 hours to the city

  13. Yeah..those tickers that flash up really urk me and quite frankly I started cursing them after a while! Everytime I saw one I would have this rush of anxiety in anticipation of the it getting closer.. I had to make myself stop looking at them when I went to sites and like yourself, they FINALLY started to fade into the background of most sites..but then the tweets from this one site started..counting down everyday..like 20 times a day this tweet would come up and I'd have a near anxiety attack waiting for it to disappear in the posts on my tweetdeck! Wow..that's bad right? I've never been so excited to see a movie! I've never been a reader until Twilight hit me like a wall of bricks. I can't tell you how many times I've read them!

Did you hear they were making special appearences at the midnight showings? Across the country in select cities..I will be driving to Dallas for this one..and yes, it will be an expensed "work" trip! :)

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'm a little too mature to get so worked up — oh, who the hell am I kidding — I'm among twitarded friends! The last movie I waited in line for was The Empire Strikes Back. I really, really want to go opening night but if a 12-year-old fangirl screams every time Robert opens his mouth, I might commit a felony. Do you think the midnight showing will be past all of their curfews?? Do kids still have curfews?

And yes, I even admit that I noticed the clock was going to hit 100 today with a thrill of anticipation. And now Eclipse starts shooting this week? I'm definitely going to implode before this madness ends! (Not to mention Remember Me, which I'm dying to see, as well.) At least I know I'll be the most understanding mom on the block when my daughter gets old enough to be fanatical about something/someone. I hope.

  15. I've just gotten the 19th and 20th off of work as well. I am nervously awaiting the release of tickets. When already?!

    ReplyDelete
  16. OMG I can't WAIT! Although I still haven't decided about the midnight showing - I really don't want to be there with a bunch of screaming tweens that I may need to bitch-slap! I'm thinking a nice matinee on the 20th while all those little fuckers are in school!! I guess I'll be taking that day off too!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I am also taking a day or two off from work for this very important day.

STY and I have been discussing the pros/cons of going on opening night (and by 'con' I mean screaming teenage girls and lots of 'em) but I figure if I can sneak a flask in then that might mellow me out enough and I won't go all Alice on 'em and rip their heads off...

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'm with you Latchkey Wife. I tend to be on the crankier side when it gets past my bedtime...and I don't want to shell out 12 bucks a flipping ticket...stand in line for hours...only to have the movie ruined by some tween fuckers screaming and talking during the entire thing. I am going to the matinee on the 20th..when those lil' bitches are in school! LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  19. I have been waiting for the counters to say less than 100 lol! I want to see the counters when we're at 99 I'll do a happy dance at my desk.

  20. I am trying to get my locale theater which sells adult beverages to show New Moon so that I don't have to hear the 12 year olds squee..because that's my job..and I promised my friends that I'd do my best to do it internally and not SQUEEE out loud for their embarrassment sake

    ReplyDelete
  21. I already told my 11yo daughter that I plan on keeping her out of school so we can have a Twiday and see the movie without all the screaming - I actually want to HEAR it! The matinee on opening is a great idea. I plan on filling my Twilight lunchbox with treats to accompany me too :) -

    ReplyDelete
  22. i also took the 20th off so that i can make the midnight premier. i'm a little worried though, as others have stated in previous comments, that i may have to resort to violence where teenies are concerned. i can handle a few appropriately placed SQUEES! (i'm a victim of that involuntary noise myself), BUT the annoying teenies who yell things at the screen throughout the movie might get drop kicked.

oh, and i'll probably abandon my 3three yr old for at least a few hours on the 20th as i see new moon for a SECOND time (minus the teenies 'cause they'll be in school), and while i'm recovering from my new-moon-induced coma.

luckily, he's a tall three year old with an affinity for climbing, so he can reach all the shelves in the fridge and the pantry to feed himself, and he could probably dial 911 if i don't come out of my coma.

    SO EXCITED!!! *SQUEE*

  23. @ Anntastic ~ im seriously debating doing something like that just so i wont have to be alone!! i really havent found any twi-freaks in Rhode Island, or close by in neighboring Conn or Mass ..... hrmmm........ i really think id rather just try and find a huge twi-fan base somewhere and go there, lol......... when are JJ and STY moving to washington to open Twi-topia???

  24. @I Punch WW - Make the trip up 95 to Maine - we've got a group of crazies up here!!

  25. my bffs and i have plans on the 20th to see every showing at the theater that we can afford, but we havent even discussed if we are going to the midnight showing. i kinda dont want to be it will just be so packed and squealy and if i get there at like 10 for the first showing the next day i imagine it wont be that bad. PLUS all the actual children will be in school. sure there will be highschoolers that skip, but all the little ankle bitters probably have good enough parents that will make them go to school. right?? i know my mom wouldnt have let me skip school when i was 12 to go watch a movie. or if they are whipped enough they will have taken them to the midnight showing. right?! i think i might be overthinking this...

    ReplyDelete
  26. I've got plans with a twi-friend to attend the midnight showing and I'm moving my flex day to have the day off! I'm also worried about the tweens screaming during the show, making me want to smack them upside the head to shut them up. Hmmm... perhapse a water gun and few squirts in the face might shut them up???

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm a grade A wussy when it comes to staying up late these days. I'm also a cranky bitch when it comes to girls screaming in a movie theatre (And I don't like crowds or standing in long lines..). So me and a midnight showing on opening night would not be a good fit.

My plan is hit the first weekday matinee when my kiddos and everyone else's teenagers are in school.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm worried about getting arrested for smacking the "sqeeing" tweens as well. A couple of friends and I have plans to attend the midnight showing at the theater for ages 21+. Then I'll be going again to our local theater with the hubs sometime over the weekend. Then probably again to watch with my mom. :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. I can't wait either! I am definately going to the midnight showing with friends but will have to go the 20th to actually enjoy the movie minus the children.

They are having a premiere in TN a couple of weeks before the 20th that I am trying to get tickets to. Its for charity and some of the stars will be there but the tickets are at least $150 or more but would be worth every penny if Rob is there. One of my Mom's friends works there and is good friends with the Owner of the theater so I'm crossing my fingers that they can get us 2 tickets...yay...but if not will have to settle for seeing it when the rest of the world does. :)

PS Love your blog..you guys always make me laugh!

  30. I didn't see Twilight until it had already been in theaters for about a month, and STILL had to listen to screaming teenagers--not enough to keep me from hearing the movie --just enough to be annoyed. I already told my daughter she was on her own for NM's midnight release because I wanted to acually hear the movie and not constant screaming. Then we discovered maybe the last drive-in theater in California,so problem solved. Oh she'll probably still go to the midnight release with her friends, but then she and I will go to the drivein, roll up the windows tight, crank up the stereo and actually ENJOY the movie. And we're selfishly not inviting anyone else so we can squee to our own heart's content.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I feel the same way! I have never been this addicted to movies/actors! I too requested off work for the 19th and 20th and when I told them the reason I needed it off they looked at me like I was insane/crazy, little do they know I am! Its so awesome to know there are other people like me out there! I can't wait!!! 100 more days!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I didn't think about the matinee on a weekday, but I don't think my theater has matinees during the school year. Hmmm... maybe I'll go to Denver. Yeah, yeah... that's an idea! Thanks.

Given all of the above comments I seriously think that theaters should just offer an over 21 (over 30?) screening for those of us adverse to high pitched screaming. They could serve wine, expensive gourmet popcorn and make a fortune! Petition, anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  33. I am sooo incredibly excited for this movie to come out and have actually requested 3 whole days off work (having to explain why) so i can travel 6 hours to seattle! I am going to meet a fellow twi*hard that I met online! Wish me luck I am a little scared but yay more excited then anything else!

  34. It's my daughter's 21st b-day on the 21st, soo, for her b-day present she told her husband she wants to be the first in line for New Moon. I told her I would help her celebrate by going with her!!!! SQUUUUUUEEEEEEE!!! My husbands wants to go too, WHY!?!?. I think he wants to witness my fan-girl freak first hand. Did I mention my son bought me a twilight poster and hung it in my bedroom? Course husband made him put it behind the door. Husband doesn't know what goes on behind closed doors with Poster Boy -RPatts and I when he's gone!!! Hide the feather pillows, quick!!! Oops, I need a moment. 100 days and counting!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I definitely agree with all who are trying to avoid the teenage squeals. I saw Twilight at midnight and although it was kind of cool to watch it in such an electric environment, I missed alot and couldn't quite enjoy it.

Not until I saw it a few days later in a more adult setting did I really enjoy it. I think I'll take the same approach this time around. I wish we had a drive in nearby...that solves everything! And not to mention that I'll be as big-as-a-house pregnant so I would feel even more awkward being the weepy sap at the midnight showing. Because it will happen...I get weepy at the damn preview already! Ugg...

    ReplyDelete
  36. I've already picked out an outfit. I suck. Or rock, depnding on how you see it.

I'll spend the day at the theatre, with my buddy, even though she's having second thoughts after she realised how I will act (spontanious crying, laughing and screaming and/or grabbing random people by the arm and screaming "NEEEW MOOOON BAAAABYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!"). I hope she's not chickening out. She better not. Then it's so over.
But my mom has volunteered, but she doesn't know she'll be there for my thirteenth time. I should probably tell her.

Anyway, that's my November 20th. Crying, laughing and screaming. And some Robward swooning. Of course, Robward swooning.

  37. For the love of all things holy, if my sister doesn't come with me to the premiere, I will fucking kick her ass. Yeah, that's how violent I get because I'm alone out here in the 808. I have no twi hard friends! Why must I suffer this by myself? Well, I could drag my 11 year old too. I'm sure she'll be my twibuddy. :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Lots of love to all of you for making me feel like I am not the freak that sometimes I suspect I am!! I saw Twilight every weekend from opening night through the DVD release and I plan to see New Moon at least that much again starting with the midnight showing. Just one look at Rob and I just can't help myself (sigh, the things I imagine doing to that man, but I digress...) My 17 year old daughter saw them all with me last time, but even she's starting to think I have a problem. Hopefully I can find enough different people to go with me so nobody discovers the true depths of my obsession. (OMG it's true, I really am a freak and am going to someday live by myself with 12 cats....)

@I Punch - yeah, I really think JJ & STY should have a Twi-topia, or that massive Twi-campout we were all joking about AAAGES ago. Of course, November would NOT be the time to do that I suppose!

I do have friends here to go with, and thankfully, we have a theater that's in a the main entertainment area of Kansas City that is 18 and over. So last year for Twilight, we went at midnight. It was mostly the college crowd, and my 2 girlfriends and I were next door at Brio downing a bottle of red wine prior to the midnight screening. The bummer was I had a 4 month old at the time, and while my girlfriends were lamenting that they thought we were the oldest there (we're in our early 30's - and we weren't the oldest there, and I will say that ladies older than us were sporting Hot Topic style t-shirts!) I pointed out that I probably WAS the only one in the room that was lactating :)

Anyway, no lactating this year, and even though I have the same couple of girlfriends here that I could go with, my two mostest Twitarded friends are going to meet up with me in ATL. Then it will be a full-on love fest!

Maybe we should all start a state-by-state Chapter of Twitards :) Then we'd all have a way to connect with fellow 'tards in our various areas for events like this!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm watching the midnight show, but taking a half day off work on the 20th so I can sleep in after evening excitement. I have NEVER taking off work for a movie premiere! I have already accepted there will be lots of screaming/talking during the show. This happened during Twilight and I wasn't even @ the midnight show that time! I may have to check my noisy neighbors if they get out of hand, as I did last time, but I'm ready for em'

I plan on catching anything I missed during the midnight show's "squees" during repeat viewings throughout the weekend...and um...following weeks :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Anyone in the Chicagoland area that's looking for twi-support, I'll be at a midnight showing. If you've heard of Muvico, I'm hoping to go there: there's an over 21 area where you can drink during the show. My idea of heaven!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I am planning on taking a day or two off work and am flying across the country (I live in Toronto, Canada) to Vancouver to see it.

I wanna see it in the city where it was filmed (and where they "might" still be) and I wanna see it with two of my biggest Twitarded friends!

And yes, I am taking Mini-Edward with me...

    ReplyDelete
  43. OK chickies, I apologize for not being able to chime in all day [stupid work...grumble-grubmle...good-for-nothing job that only pays the bills but doesn't give me any twi-love grumble...] but reading all of your comments I'm just THAT much more excited - wooooOOOOO!!! I really really can't wait! And I think we all need to tip our collective Twitarded hats in "Billy Idol's Mom"'s direction since she may or may not actually give birth in the theater on the 19th/20th (we all demand that you choose a Twilight -related name if that happens, OK?). And I want pictures of everyone at the premiere! Yes, with your mini-edwards and your hot-topic or custom tees and your moms and your kids and your husbands (egads, he really wants to go?! And your gonna let him? huh - well what doesn't kill you makes you stronger so...).

I think we do need to search for a 21+ theater or find out how to make that happen someplace locally. If i win the mega-millions tonight I promise to fly in as many lonely, out-in-the-middle-of-nowhere Twitards to HERE so you don't have to be all by your lonesome for the premiere! Really. now cross your fingers for me like you mean it!

I didn't seriously consider going to see Twilight on opening night; I just wasn't as obsessed as I am now. Don't get me wrong; JJ and I went that weekend and we were as excited as all get-out but we weren't as consumed with all things Twi the way we are now! I know that we will both have to physically restrain each other from going all fist-a-cuffs on some tweeny screamers, but I think even with that majorly annoying aspect, it will still be fun. Now about that adults-only screening... Time so start a collection to bribe the local theater-owners or something!

I'm glad that there hasn't even been a whisper about the release date being changed or anything - I mean, we're taking vacation time! and planning trips! and babies! LOL!

Love you guys and wish we could all just take over a theater and go together! Er, maybe if I hit that lotto it could be arranged...

    : )

  46. WOOHOO!!
i, too, have been recruiting, i've got a whole gaggle of ladies to squeeeeeee with, age 11 - 53, and one 15 year old son! my honey will NOT be in attendance, he is SO over "all this twilight crap" and is frankly tired of turning on the computer to see that i've changed the screen saver to some new drooly pic of robert pattinson.
he is however, quite used to me being as obsessive as only as 15 year old girl can, so he's understanding, if not supportive.
in order to whip my 11 y/o niece into a twifrenzy, i have made her a lil card or postcard or treat to mail her each week until the week of Nov 20. and in order to whip myself into the aformentioned frenzy, i have thrown myself into an art project. well, a collage, really - i'm filling 2 shadowboxes (one for me, one a gift) with all things Cullen, Jake, Charlie, and Forks, itself. i've even got teeny little corked glass bottles (a wee one inch tall!) to fill with some sand from Isle Esme. i am, however, having a helluva time finding a couple of yellow Hot Wheels Porsche 911 Turbos to represent the fortune teller.
    crap!
and omg, what else... the twilight inspired playlists i've been making for my ipod, the Forks High tees i'm making for opening night, and the pretty apple/cullen crest necklace i'm assembling at this very moment at the computer desk!
    I LOVE TWI-ARTS AND CRAFTS!

  50. Nov. 21 is my birthday so all my girlfriends will be going on Nov. 20th to celebrate my birthday just like we did last year for Twilight. I will have my Pocket Edward, my flask, and my Sniffs handy. I have tentative plans to go with a different group of friends to an adult dinner theater on the 21st or 22nd. The theater is by reservation only so my friend is looking in to reserving seats already.

Last year I stayed up until 1:30am the day tickets went on sale because I was convinced it was going to be nuts--it ended up being no problem to get tickets. I think this time it will be way more like I thought it was going to be the first time.

I will not be attending the midnight showing but rather an evening showing on the 20th. I have no desire to wait in line that late--I am old. The idea of seeing a matinee though on the 20th is such a great idea. I think I will pawning the children off on the grandparents that whole weekend--it is my birthday weekend after all.

I so wish I could go see this with all you Twitards who are just as obsessed as me. I think JJ and STY should live blog from the theater--ha!

I have never enjoyed a countdown to my birthday so much EVER!

Here, that's Amsterdam, New Moon opens on the 19th! (cause all movies open on thursday!) and since Twilight isn't as big here as it seems to be everywhere else, me and my friends (who are all a bit ashamed of our obsession) might actually get tickets for the premiere!

On November 20th is the Marine Corps Ball, so i kinda have to be there with my Marine..(gah)
