Kristen Stewart In A&E Section of The Sunday New York Times!

Image from NYT.com

Mr. Snarky and I were flipping through the paper earlier today when he said offhandedly "Oh I see Kristen Stewart is in the paper..." or maybe he even said "KStew" but who remembers now??? All I can say is that I was cracking up that he even know who Kristen Stewart IS! What have I done to poor Mr. Snarky???

Anyway, there she is - right on the cover of the Arts and Entertainment Section. Here's a clip from the article -

WE know, courtesy of Us Weekly, that Kristen Stewart spreads butter on her blueberry bagels. People magazine just chronicled her alleged romance with her “Twilight” co-star, Robert Pattinson, in an entire issue devoted to the movie franchise. And everyone from “Access Hollywood” to The New Zealand Herald has chewed over her supposedly “moody,” “mopey,” “melancholy” demeanor. What hardly anyone outside Hollywood knows — or at least recognizes amid the tabloid frenzy, hyperventilating fans and cheesiness of the “Twilight” movies — is perhaps the most interesting thing about her: At 19 Ms. Stewart is considered one of the most promising actresses of her generation, with Oscar winners like Sean Penn and Jodie Foster lining up to offer praise.

“I do wish that people would focus more on the work, and I can’t say that I don’t take it personally,” said Ms. Stewart, who reprises her role as Bella Swan, an ordinary high school girl who falls in love with a sensitive vampire, in the forthcoming film “The Twilight Saga: New Moon.”

“But I understand it because what you do as an actor is so tied up in who you are as a person,” she continued with a deep sigh. “What really kills me — it really rips me up — is when people think I’m abrasive, inconsiderate or ungrateful because I don’t go outside in a bikini and wave to the paparazzi. Come on!”

Life as a teen idol has never been easy. But navigating the obsessive attention of young fans amid today’s media landscape — all Twitter, all YouTube, all TMZ, all the time — can be particularly harrowing. And Ms. Stewart in some ways has it even harder. Because of the grip the “Twilight” franchise has on young girls — the first movie raked in $384 million at the global box office and the books, by Stephenie Meyer, have sold over 70 million copies — she is not just an actress playing a popular role. Instead “Twi-hards” have come to project their version of romantic love on her; Ms. Stewart’s shyness and hints of awkwardness make her accessible to fans in a way Megan Fox is not.

Here is the second image from the article - she looks great! Really been working that shag, you know? And I'm not talkin' about the other shag that probably made her look all sassy and glowy and stuff. Oh wait I just did - oopsie!

Pine trees? Shadows??? Is this some sort of covert Forks or Twi/NM tee???

OH - and look what I found when I was flipping through the rest of the the A&E section: A HUGE two-page, double-sided advertisement for New Moon! I'll bet Mr. Snarky will be wishing he had snuck this section of the paper directly into the recycle bin after I hang this up somewhere!

FIVE MORE DAYS - 5! - SQUEEEEE!!!!!!

"The Motion Picture Event of the Year" - you can say that again!!!

P.S. Yeah I know, we "don't do news" but I love being first to post something like this and can't resist when the opportunity presents itself! Humor me...

  2. Haha!! My husband also knows who Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson are....the other day I had "Fierce People" on TV in the background while I worked, and my husband walked into the room and said, "Is that Kristen Stewart?!"

    :)

P.S. I've never seen Kstew smile as much as I have in these photos from this past week! I actually love her surly attitude, but it's nice to see her so happy! I'm sure it has nothing to do with Rob being at her side 24/7!! ;)

  5. I've recently expanded my Twilight blog following list, but I just have to say - You two ladies still put together THE FINEST blog around. Still my fave!

And BTW - I put butter on my blueberry bagels too! Her and I are total BFFs now. :P

  7. I agree. KStew is beautiful. It's funny because out of curiosity I watched a bit of Panic Room the other day. What a young KStew and honest to God I still see that little girls face in some of her photos. It's when she smiles.
Though I'm not a KStew fan, she is Bella and (bitch is so doing Rob) so I will at the very least say I appreciate her and her beauty. She takes some fucking fierce photos and she's been really trying to open up lately in some of her interviews.

  8. Wow! Now I should REALLY go shag my hubby! I already wanted to, but you ladies are making me feel extra-appreciative of him. Where do I begin...

    My hubs:

    *Bought me Twilight book.
*Two days later, went to great lengths to find me New Moon in hard cover (cuz I'm a snob that way - I don't do paperback). But he couldn't, so he got the paperback, promising me he'd find it in hard cover ASAP, but knew I wanted to read it now. Cuz I was totally infatuated by this point. I love series.
*Before I could finish NM, he found me Eclipse and then before I needed it, he got me Breaking Dawn.
*He also paid for me to get both collector's editions that are available. I highly recommend these - they're beautiful. I don't actually read them though, I have reading copies, and then ther are the lending copies. Tee hee.

Wow - now I sound f'n spoiled. I am. (But I've also been ill for a few years now and he takes good care of me.)

He's also took me to see the Twilight movie TWICE, and enjoyed it. He bought the DVD, and just got me the blue ray. He bought advance New Moon tickets and is letting me organize a group to go to our local "swanky" theater. And he even brings home any reputable magazine that has a Twilight/NM issue. :)

Which all brings me back to the shagging he'll be smiling about for the next coupla days.

WordVerif: undippid. His shaft was so far undipped in her sauce.

  9. Ok, she's pretty when someone cleans her up but I still think she's annoying. I think she's a horrible actress and bitchy in interviews. She doesn't need to put on a bikini (even one with pot leaves on the tits) and wave to the paparazzi. Just try not to have that "I smell something stank" grimace on her face 95% of the time.

Lets compare her to Taylor Swift. Now, I HATE Taylor Swift's music, however she always seems to be gracious toward her fans and the press, even when she's caught by the paps on a date with Taycob.

HELLO! These two are the same age!

Get the chip off your shoulder KStew. You aren't all that. (even though you're banging Rob.)

That's my two cents on the subject.

    WV: calme
I will stop ranting and calme the fuck down now.

  10. i bow down to the stew. she's so young, yet she's pretty intense and she doesn't take shit from anybody. i adore that she does/says whatever the fuck she wants. i really admire that. i don't think it's necessary for her to be sugary sweet. that's just not her. she still has moments of extreme gratitude with the press and with fans, she's just more honest about the pros and cons of fame (and sometimes, i guess, that comes across as bitchy/grouchy. *shrug*).

kstew is the shizzle. muh nizzle.

  11. @mmMoxie, I'd have agreed with you totally before, but the bits I've seen of her in the past week or so seem so much better, she seems more open in interviews and generally less moody and more smily (wonder why?!!). I also think she's been looking really good in a lot of recent shoots & appearances.

STY, well done on the scoop lol, and nice one to Mr Sty for 'fessing up on finding them!

  12. p.s. i forgot to mention the fact that she's totally fucking hot, no matter what she's wearin'. i'd hit it. *walks away*

  13. Ok. She's getting better at faking it. Doesn't help her acting.

  14. @StarlitViolets - holy crap you need to find a way to bottle that man and sell him - lol!

Of course I wouldn't trade Mr. Snarky for anything in the whole wide world. : )

  15. @STY: I think I'd actually have some takers. All our friends joke about "borrowing" him. We all laugh, but I see that, "No, seriously, if you let him go - he's MINE!" look. But I am so very thankful for him.

    WordVerif: reste. Nuff' said.

  16. @STY - Just a question. I'm writing a How Twilight Changed My Life thing for the WA Post, but am all insecure. Would either of you have time?

  17. I think Kristen is a beautiful young woman, but I'm not a huge fan of her work. She is kind of like Blair Underwood - they can act but it's like the same acting traits in each role.

Nothing bad by that, because not everyone has the acting range of an Anthony Hopkins. But I'm never surprised by anything they do. They entertain me but I never walk away moved.

  18. Kristen is gorgeous and is one of the most talented actresses in Hollywood. I have seen her in several interviews and she is always very sweet and there is never even a hint of arrogance.
