Midnight Sun Video Series

So, today is Saturday which means I'm supposed be doing all that grown-up nonsense like raking the leaves, taking shit to the dry cleaners and cleaning up the house.

Grown-up Shmown-up. I raked leaves for awhile but our new neighbors started creeping out of their houses to introduce themselves to us and I was terrified I was going to blurt out something totally inappropriate or call them all "cum dumpsters" so I ran inside under the pretense of "cleaning".

Instead, I watched the most amazing series of videos on Youtube. Want2BinForks sent us an email many moons ago about this series but, like everything else, it takes us f-o-r-e-v-e-r to actually sit down and do it. Oh, and ML made a comment about how all I do is read twismut so I wanted to prove him wrong.

Anyhoo, this series was done by Darksoulvamp and I'm not shitting you when I say it's amazing. Seriously, this chicky is fucking talented. I am really impressed.

Oh hai, my new favorite time suck, you are just plain fucking awesome...

  1. Damn you, JJ! You already know I pissed away most of my day catching up on the media hub bub and then playing with some of the Hot Topic pics of Rob. My husband is waiting for me to get ready so we can go out to eat, so I'll have to catch these later.

  2. I need to be working but I can't concentrate after watching this! OMG, this person is so talented! The last one actually brought tears to my eyes. Did anyone notice how perfect and moving the music was? Don't want to do anything but daydream now. Bad JJ!!

  3. i'm favorably impressed.

truthfully, i much prefer edward's narration to bella's.

  4. Wow!
This person has some serious talent! Very moving!

  5. I haven't read Midnight Sun yet. No hiting, no hiting!

I'm kind of hoping Stephenie Meyers will finish it.
You can stop laughing... Don't think too bad of me.

So I just skimmed through the first and bookmarked the others. Loved the music.

    Kisses.

  6. I loved these so much, I put them up on my blog. Stephenie Meyer needs to see these!!! Maybe they will inspire her to finish Midnight Sun already.

  7. Freakin' A! Darksoulvamp has some serious serious talent! I just finished watching Episode 4 - LOVED it! Gets you right in the gut... raw stuff!

OK - Back to watching the next two episodes.

I love this! It's like watching a movie short. THANK YOU darksoulvamp. And thank YOU JJ for posting!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  8. @Annie - I completely agree with you! Someone definitely needs to send these to Stephanie Meyer, and Rob too!

  9. And JJ, you keep away from those neighbors trying to say hi. That's sooo creppy of them. LOL

  10. Oh man!! These were absolutely fantastic! I got major goosebumps when Edward went to save Bella in Port Angeles! I'm sad there are only seven! Grrr to the twat waffle that leaked her manuscript - even though I devoured the leaked copy almost instantaneously.

--> off to watch all of darksoulvamp's other videos.

  11. Question: Where did darksoulvamp find the footage of Edward attacking Bella in class? I haven't seen that anywhere before... must... track down.... every... second... of ... footage!!!

  14. Glad you guys enjoyed them...I was worried when I emailed STY and JJ that they were old news to all.

I want to watch them on endless loop rather than watch CH's version of twilight. I hope that darksoulvamp puts them all together in one monster clip as I am lazy and hate having to click on the next one :)

I am not a cryer but choked up a few times. Great music and I agree that someone with a connection to SM needs to make her aware of them...MS (Edward's narration) rocks so much more than Twilight. We can only hope that she will finish...sigh.

  15. Oh my fucking Edward...... I don't think I breathed through the entire first one. At least two of the others made me cry. The talent of this darksoulvamp is astonishing; the music, the careful blending of excerpts from the book and the movie, the slowing of certain clips. If this person isn already a filmmaker they need to drop WHATEVER they are doing and immediately start on their obvious path of destiny! Oh, my, I'll be watching those many many times.

    ReplyDelete
  16. @wants2Binforks - Thanks for giving JJ & STY the heads up about the videos!

The music was amazing and made the whole experience hauntingly beautiful. How are we ever going to be able to say goodbye to these characters once the movie saga has wrapped?!

  17. I hate my geriatric laptop and I hate living in the arsehole of nowhere with lousy internet connection. These look great, but I can't see them. I LOVED Midnight Sun, and I really hope she decides to finish it at some point.

@Selene: I held out for ages hoping the same thing, but I caved. Totally worth it! Somehow reading Edward's side of the story makes it hotter.

@TwiWeasel: I did have a great time, thanks, even without you :( I bet you wouldn't have threatened to have me committed if I didn't put Mini-E away and quit embarrassing you. I may have been waving him in the air like a lighter at the time...

  18. Ohh must watch those!!!

I saw a NEW MOON TRAILER ON TV TONIGHT!!!
and freakin' sqeeed like a 12 year old chasing RPattz!

  19. I'm reeling at the fact that Darksoulvamp made a better movie then Catherine Hardwicke! Dont get me wrong, I love Twilight, but this was raw, intense and exactly what the fans of the series were hoping for. Whats that old adage, if it's not broken, dont fix it. I feel like Catherine never heard of that.

I wish Stephenie would stop having her snit fit about Midnight Sun and finish it already. I mean, The Host was good...but lets face it, it was no Twilight.

I guess we should thank your neighbors, JJ for being so sociable. Dont feel bad. I, too, am socially retarted. Or should that now be, socially twitarded?

    ReplyDelete
  20. I've been following these for a couple of months. I love love love Edward's narration! I devoured Mid Sun even though I know it may never get finished, and that's huge for me because I hate to put any book down that i haven't finished.

I maintain anyone who thinks RPattz is not a good actor were based on Twilight needs to see Darksoulvamp's videos because he was TOTALLY playing the Mid. Sun version of Edward and he does it with such intensity, yes it brings tears.

  22. Reading this post reminded me to put down the FF and get back to REALITY, meaning I just started MS tonight....and HOLY HELL!! I can't believe I didn't do this sooner...but now I am pissed that it's not finished. AARRGH. EPOV is everything I wanted it to be...not semi-flakey like Bella, but brooding and wise. Much more animalistic and intense. Now I'm all angsty...~sigh~. I furking lurve you guys...you complete me...sniffle.

If this is the line of work you are pursuing,I hope someone smart enough to recognize your talents latches on to you quickly.

Once again JJ amd STY, thanks for the intro into some great twitarded stuff that I would probably not have been able to find on my own!!

  27. Oh wow, so beautiful - the music, the clips, the editing, everything. Amazingly talented person.

I almost shed a tear(probably would've if I had been by myself). Made me remember why I fell in love with Twilight.

And I agree with F-Kat on Rob's acting abilities.

OMG - verification word is: FANGS

    how fucking cool! :D

  28. Those were fucking amazing. Wow.

    ReplyDelete
  29. how have i not seen these yet!?!? i really think, based on what i've seen here, that a little bit of Edward's POV in the movie would have helped tremendously - i can see why so many people who've seen the movie and not read the book(s) would not understand the depth of the relationship. This stuff was awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Arghhhhhhhhhh haven't time to watch these, will have to wait till tomorrow now or when husband takes his son home, ooo now there's a thought thats only a few hours away hehe, I really really want S Meyer to finish Midnight Sun, I so prefer Edwards version of the story. Hmmm wonder why, maybe because he is such a freakin awesome godlike character played by the most gorgeous man ever-stop it Sarah, getting carried away again.

Oh I popped my fanfic cherry this morning (GRIN) it was definately Edward/Rob but not Bella, it was kind of a mash up of me when I was a goth with black hair from my late teens lol and some faceless girl, K Stew doesn't do it for me lol. Be back later to view these!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. That was... WOW!

How I've missed my Edward. *sigh*

@FKAT--you said it baby! RPattz was truly Mid. Sun Edward. So fine...

  33. @Banshee713: the thing is that Midnight Sun is unfinished. I think I'll just go nuts reading an incomplete story. I'm going to refrain for the moment.
And, by the way, I'm really jeaulous of you seeing Muse live. Here the tickets sold out way too fast. And now we have this stupid fu*#s selling them at something like 90 and 150€!!! Argh!

And, although I haven't read Midnight Sun, you can tell in the film that Robert is playing Edward's MS and not Edward's Twilight. He was given the MS manuscript to read before filming...

    Kisses.

    ReplyDelete
  34. @selene HOW can you not have read midnight sun?!? really - you need to!! incomplete or no, it's such a cool read and look at edward and what makes him tick. i keep midnight sun on my desktop at work and read it whenever i have a few minutes...

    ReplyDelete
  35. Not watching these until the hubby leaves for work so I can sob like a fangirl and lick the screen without a shred of decorum in private.

I normally don't look forward to him leaving, but....

    ReplyDelete
  36. @STY: *hanging head in shame* I know, I know... Do I have to return my Twitarded card? Please don't make me.
I don't know if I can take it being incomplete.
I want to read it really bad but then not having the chance to read how it ends??! Argh!
My sister also read it and she's the same; she doesn't get how I can resist.

And I'm hoping Stephenie will finish it and then I can make peace with Breaking Dawn...

For the moment, to keep tentation away, I have this loooong list of fanfic to read.

And by the way, STY, isn't it about time you lock JJ in the basement and hold the liquor until a new chapter's finished. We need something to hold us until New Moon.

  37. Holy mother of Rob batman, can she please make the Midnight Sun movie when the book fianlly gets finished. What a great set of films, so well done. I love Robward even more; if that's possible. Sigh.....

Right now I've popped my fanfic cherry I'm off to read some Rob smut and revel in the dirty cow that I am. Its good to be alive....sometimes

  38. Re: reading Midnight Sun
Selene-I'm not trying to make you feel like you have to justify your decision not to read Mid Sun. Just to let you know about my own experience. I have always been compulsive about reading books. By that I mean that I find it painful if the situation arises that I have to stop reading before I've finished it. It kills me that I can't turn off the world long enough to read a book cover to cover, because in case I haven't been clear enough I HATE to stop once I've started. Then of course I got all twitarded, read "the" books and went out searching for my next fixx of information like an addict. I knew Mid Sun was unfinished and I started it anyway. I read the end of it first (cuz that's just what I do) I didn't want to be taken to the edge if a cliffhanger just to scream out "noooooooo!". So I started the read knowing where it was going to end. It also helps that you do already know the end to this story--just not from Edward's perspective. I still kinda want to scream nooooo when it's over but not really over, but to me it's so worth it to get a glimpse inside Edward's head. If it were finished it would definitely be my favorite.

W/V: sightbuns.....heh heh. He leaned over a little too far and I caught a sight of some buns....

  39. @Fkat and Selene --

I totally understand where you're coming from Selene, but I agree 100% with Fkat. Since you already know the ending, just not from Edward's perspective, it helps to settle the angst that one feels b/c the manuscript isn't completed.

The reason why we are urging you (hopefully not pressuring you) into reading it is b/c of the super f'in fantastic discoveries we make when getting into Edward's mind. It makes the movie Twilight SO MUCH BETTER! Seriously...I feel like giving every person who sees the movie with me a copy of the manuscript so they "get it."

Anyway -- I don't mean to stick my nose in your conversation with Fkat, but I feel so strongly about Midnight Sun that I wanted to give my two twi-cents.

Ultimately though, it is of course 100% your decision and as Twitards, we respect that! =)

    ReplyDelete
  40. @Twichotic- Feel free to stick your nose into any conversation I've started! I actually get a little thrill over being acknowledged at all. In RL I'm the quiet one in the room having all the conversations in her head. ;)

    Fkat

    ReplyDelete
  41. Now I want to re-read Midnight Sun. I wish the entire series was written from Edward's perspective. He's so much more complex.

    Finish the fucking book Stephenie!

    ReplyDelete
  42. @F-Kat and Twichotic: Thanks. I think I'm caving in. I mean, not sure how much longer I can stay away.

F-Kat, I like what you did, reading the end so you know where it stops.
Twichotic, you're not sticking your nose. Join in anytime.

    It's nice being acknowledge.
Thanks for trying to save me from being expelled from twitardia. :) :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. @Selene - We would never dream of expelling you from Twitardia. We puffy heart all of you.

@FKat - Quiet, eh? You're definitely not quiet here! It's awesome!! We get such a kick out of reading everyone's comments.

    ReplyDelete
  44. @JJ: Thanks!!! *big smile*

I'm actually blushing, smiling, a bit tear-y and feeling all mushy inside.

    I *heart* Twitardia!

    ReplyDelete
  45. @all - I'm sticking my nose in too! I loved Twilight, but reading Midnight Sun was probably what pushed me into the mania I now enjoy. Also, if you like fanfic, you'll see why so many of the best stories have the best EPOV's... they obviously read Midnight Sun and were inspired.

    ReplyDelete
  46. No one should refrain from commenting for fear of sounding like an idiot. Come on. Is there anything more ridiculous than my name? Haha.

JJ- yes quiet. Someday my Fkat alter ego is going to slip out and I will literally be committed. I once raised my voice at my kids when they were little cuz we were in the car and they wouldn't stop fighting. I YELLED at them to "knock it off!". There was instaneous quiet in the car. When the oldest (about 4 at the time) got brave enough to say anything, she very quietly and honestly asked" mom. Who said that?". No kidding even my own kids didn't know I had it in me. With Internet anonymity I can join in the convo, laugh, swear, and talk about stuff no one in RL knows about. Shhh. It's fun!

    Fkat

    ReplyDelete
  47. @F-Kat: I totally understand... The alter-ego that comes alive in the internet does enjoy the fact that it's anonymous.
I like your name; it's doesn't sound idiotic. But it sure doesn't make you sound quiet ;)

@suzpetals: in twilight-movie you can tell that that Edward is way darker than the one in twilight-book. Me likes!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Oooooh, I LOVE Midnight Sun, and these vids are gorgeous. Fantastic use of music. Damn Smeyer's petulance - she should just suck it up and finish the damn thing. Edward POV rocks.

    ReplyDelete
  49. @Selene: Yeah, the unfinished thing drives me nuts too, but I still don't regret reading it.
The Muse tickets sold out here pretty quick too, but Sister Banshee has connections ;D Unfortunately they're just get-you-awesome-seat connections, not get-you-backstage-and-shag-the-band connections. Which is a shame, cos I kinda have a thing for Chris.

    ReplyDelete
  50. @Banshee713: I don't have connections but I ask almost everyone that crosses my path if they know anyone that know anyone that... you get the picture.
I kinda of have a thing for Mathew (don't tell anyone); blue hair and all. Or red. Or brown. *sigh*

    ReplyDelete
  51. @Selene: Me too, a little. *blushes* I have no idea why (he's so pointy!), except for me being a guitar whore, as usual.

    ReplyDelete
  52. holy shit.

    mind? blown!
    jaw? dropped!
    socks? rocked!
i am ALL about edward's POV, i had read midnight sun more than twilight. my twilight book is LOADED with cross referencing post-its, with edward's internal dialog matched up to bella's.
i guess my point is...uh, i like this shit.

    ReplyDelete
  53. @all Edwards POV is so much more interesting, it explains some of the little bits that were missing in Twilight, you know, when you want to know what he's thinking and feeling. I agree I wish all the books could be written from his side. I want to know what he gets up to in New Moon when he disappears, I want to know what he's thinking when she keeps going off with Jacob in Eclipse and I soooooooooo want to know what he's thinking when they finally have sex in Breaking. Ugh, I give up I'm such a Robert loving whore bag

  63. JJ, STY and everyone here... today through tomorrow Stephenie is taking questions (about New Moon) through theTwilightSaga.com... there's a post up on her website about it.

I say we all go over there and inundate her with pleas to finish Midnight Sun (she may want New Moon questions, but she can't ignore it if the majority are about MS instead): http://www.thetwilightsaga.com/profiles/blogs/submit-your-questions-to

Note that you have to click on the "emailing us here" link to submit the question, don't just add a comment like the rest of the dumbasses who obviously didn't read the header.

  66. That is wicked awesome, so said the 28 year old mom. I feel like a teen again.

I read Midnight Sun and fell even more in love with Twilight and Edward. She needs to finish this book, or dang post a couple of more pages. I was bummed that it didn't end where I at least wanted it to. Whoever the idiot was that leaked could have waited a chapter or to and got to the good stuff.

Watching these makes me want to put Twilight in and read Midnight Sun again at the same time.

    FINISH THE BOOK STEPH!!!

Maybe we will get lucky and she will shock us on Oprah, we can dream can't we.
