We're Not Miss Manners, But What About Twitiquette?

We're always running late here at Twitarded - some perfect storm of chronic procrastination, and comboTwi/RL distractions, I suppose - so it's been hashed out elsewhere earlier this week, but the topic of Twilight etiquette was recently brought up in a bit of a rant posted by our bloggy bud Cutie over at Super Secret Twilight Blog... Apparently, she had a REALLY rough time last year when she saw Twilight in the theater at the midnight premiere. People were obnoxious and it was a buzz-kill for her. She's trying to get the word out that maybe people should try to be thoughtful of their fellow Twitards at the premiere of New Moon [in TEN-ish days - SQUEEE!!!]. And after reading her story, I am afraid. Very afraid. On a number of levels...

It occurred to me while I was reading about Cutie's anticipation of "The Big Day" last year that Jenny Jerkface and I weren't quite this...consumed with all things Twilight when the first movie came out last November. We had discovered (and devoured) the books and were absolutely dying to see the movie [you can check out our respective "Oh MAH GAHHHH I FOUND TWILIIIIGHTTT!!!" first posts HERE and HERE, if you are interested in reminiscing with us], but I am not even sure I was aware that there was a midnight showing at the time. We went to see it opening weekend, which is rare for both of us since we both generally despise packed theaters and crowds and people in general (present company excluded, natch), and the place wasn't over-run with rabid teeny-bopper fans. The size of the audience dwindled with each subsequent showing we went to... In fact, we've never been around a bunch of fans - not to mention younger fans. The Breaking Dawn book release was before our Twi-time, and when the dvd was released, JJ wasn't around to go to a release party, she was HERE with Mini-Edward (damn her!).

Soooo... Things could get interesting on 11/19... Especially since we've decided to go balls-to-the-wall and see the premier in New York City (WOOOO!!!).

A couple of scenarios are currently being featured in an anxiety-powered constant "replay" loop in my addled little brain:
Kids are everywhere. Freaking out, screaming, singing, the works! JJ and I go nuts and we're like that deleted scene where Edward attacks Bella in Biology class but it's going to be much, much uglier, and then we are escorted from the place in ball-gags and shackles...
And this - possibly worse - scenario:
What if I'm not the hero sane, respectful Twilight-obsessed movie-goer??? What if I'm the bad guy screaming, freaking-out twat stain??? Gah!!
Let's be honest here: this latter scenario is a possibility... I wouldn't say we we were REALLY obnoxious when we saw Twilight in Central Park over the summer, but we weren't the strong and silent types, either, that's for sure. We laughed, we "squeeee!"-ed, there was much snorteling...

I've never mixed - for better or for worse - with Twifans in person. Not en masse anyway. Should I be worried? Should other people be worried in our presence?!

This is where you come in: we need you and your collective Twi wisdom. Did you see a midnight show of Twilight last year on opening night? How was it??? Are you doing it again this year? Why or why not??? Thoughts? Suggestions? Offers of advances on bail money??? Tell us all about it in the comments!

  1. i went and saw the midnight showing, and it definitely wasn't awesome around other people. i'm trying to oogle at rob, and the girl next to me is having a heart attack. and then the annoying clapping and cat calls through the whole movie was just too much for me. i just wanted to start strangling people and tell the to shut the F up. Damn it!

  2. I didn't go to a midnight showing for Twilight; I saw it at 1pm the following day. I am very scared to see NM at midnight. I'm taking my friend who is the closest thing to a ninja that I've got. I'm not above using her as a human shield. I've got roughly 10 more days to squirrel away some bail money...

  3. I've only been the midnight show of HP 6 - and despite the youngish age of the crowd, and possible drunkiness of the older folks, it wasn't bad.

However, I'm late to the twilight game and only saw the movie after christmas last year - so....the hysteria had totally died down. The crowds were pretty good, actually.

But I am going to the midnight show of New Moon. Here is why I'm not worried:

    1. I am going into it knowing I'll see it again, so whatever I miss, I'll catch the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th time around.

    2. I have no problem telling an idiot to shut the fuck up. I've done it before, I'll do it again.

    3. I'm a mom, and a former teacher, I got "The Look" down pat.

    Why I'm scared as hell:

    1. If i sit next to a ten year old and she starts asking stupid questions at her near orgasming mom. *barf*

    2. If there is a heckler. I will rile up the crowd and initiate a smackdown. But damn it if I get my butt thrown out of the theatre.

    3. A tiny part of me also wonders, "What if I'm the bad guy," too. What if I'm the one squeeing too loud, sighing annoyingly, or jizzing in my pants. What if it's the 10 year old give me that "You're a pathetic twi-mom" look.

God help me. Just a few more days to go.....

  4. I'm thinking of setting in the back row with a paintball gun and picking off any out of line teenies! Now don't get me wrong I may have to wear a bib to keep the drool from ruining my shirt but ill not squeel like a holler monkey everytime Eddie flashed across the screen. I have 2 tickets to the 12:10 due to the fact that the first 2 are already sold out.....god help us all maybe they will all be in the first 2!

  5. I didn't see Twilight until about a month after release when it hit our local second-run $3 theater. Even that far removed, there were screams when Edward made his appearance which not only annoyed the hell outta me, but embarrassed me too because I was with my non-Twi daughter trying to be all normal and stuff while I could literally hear her rolling her eyes next to me. I don't want to put up with other crazies, nor embarrass myself so we're going to see it the first Friday it comes out at a drivein. Safe in our cocoon where we can turn the speakers WAY up to hear dialogue and are free to jump around in our seats and squeee with delight without bothering anyone else.

W/V: preouten.....I have not outted myself from the Twicloset yet. I am pre-(Twi)outen. Hm. I think it's a german dervative.

  6. I was in the same situation as you when Twilight was released....had just read all of the books but didn't see the movie on opening night. I didn't get totally GAGA until I actually saw Robert Pattinson in action on the big screen.

I can't trust myself not to be a gigantic middle aged bitch opening night so I'm not going to risk it. I tolerate very little which includes anyone touching me or high pitched squeals (unless they're coming from me) or tween twats ticking the back of my chair. Being more (mature?) I know my limits so I'll just lay low until the dust settles and see the movie on the 22nd.

I suggest you get a little tipsy before you go. Not hammered or anything. I want you to be able to absorb and enjoy New Moon. Just a little nip to take the edge off of any potential rage that might be brewing.

  7. I'm not seeing New Moon at midnight.
It's a deliberate attempt to avoid the squealing 14 year olds. I'm hoping that noon on a friday will be a lot quieter.
And then I can squee and fangirl to my liking. XD

  8. We just don't do midnight screenings here. At least not in my neck of the woods :( By the time I saw Twilight, it was February and they were still showing it on Saturday afternoons at my crappy local cinema, but I just had to endure it...The crowd was pretty big considering how long it'd been out, but were pretty well-behaved, so I have (slight) hope for the crowds at New Moon.

As for being the 'screaming, freaking-out twat stain' XD Sister Banshee has promised to smack me upside the head if I start squee-ing in public. And I promised to do the same to her if she starts making obscene comments about Robward in front of the tweens. Although, depending on my frame of mind, I might end up joining in instead...

  9. I hadn't heard about Twilight till it came out on DVD (yes I live under a rock) and I don't know how I am going to resrain myself but I'm not seeing NM till a week after the release date!

  10. i didnt get into twilight after i watched the movie a month after it came out, and there were a bunch of girls screaming at the screen, now i dont blame them but it was annoying. I went to a midnight showing of Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and that was a mess. We had to run to get a seat and then deal with people, ugh, and im sure nm will be 10 times worse, which is why im going to a midnight showing at the local drive-in which I hope will be waaay better with not having to hear other peoples commentary on the movie, just my own :] Just be prepared to knock some little girls out, they get real bitchy haha

  11. I was at ComicCon. ComicCon was awesome. Wanting to tell the 12 year old sitting next to me to shut the hell up so I could hear what The Precious was saying was not awesome... but I endured. I will be going to see NM at midnight fully prepared to lay the Twi-smack down if need be. I've been practicing my "edward staring down the bad guys in the alley" face, hopefully that'll do the trick.

  12. I didn't see it in the theatre at all. I saw a lame bootleg copy online cuz I was too poor to go to the theatre. I was majorly disappointed because the copy was so bad that I thought they ruined the books by filming a movie that god awful. It wasn't until someone gave me a better copy that I started seeing the potential. I bought my first copy the day it came out, and subsequently have had to buy two more. (Did you know there's a limit as to how many times you can watch a dvd?)

Anyway...I'm going to a midnight showing with my cousin-in-law and like 8 other people. I'm only now just realizing the mass hysteria that may ensue...should I bring a tazer? I will cut a bitch who disturbs me while I'm in my Rob-induced happy place! I know I'm going to go and see it a couple of days later, but thats MY Rob time damnit! Now you all have me worried that I won't be able to deal with it, cause I really hate people...hmmmm. It's a dilemna.

  13. I'm so glad you posted about this because I've been worried about it too. I only got into Twilight a few months ago and so missed the hoopla with the first movie.

A friend who saw it last year on opening weekend said it was pretty hard to hear anything at all with all the screaming and talking - which makes me sad, because that means some kids are about to get hurt. STY, I even used the same analogy with her that you did! Told her I'd snap necks Edward-scenting-Bella-in-Bio-the-first-time style if anyone so much as made a peep around me.

I am planning on taking a flask full of Sweet Lucy (look it up, you'll thank me!) to take the edge off and also to better enable me to lust after RPattz and Taycob in my happy place like the shameless cougar I am.

    ReplyDelete
  14. BTW: I'm planning on seeing NM on Friday evening, not the Thursday midnight show. Any idea as to whether the squealers will have thinned out by them or do I hope for too much?

  15. Like a deranged Heroine addict staring at their next fix knowing it will be a while before you can get your hands on more....I am going to try to hold out...for a few days before going. Try to catch a matinee when the little immature fans (clarify: I am a BIG immature fan) should be in school.)
Now, can I hold out for the delayed gratification? Jonesing for my own personal brand of heroine? (Ha! How's that for a tie-in?) We shall see....but I have no patience for people interrupting my movies and no brain-to-mouth filter to stop me from dropping f-bombs.
My 30 yr old niece just told me that she is about to watch the movie again because she is just trying to see what the hell I am seeing in it. I told her to be careful lest she catch "it".

  16. Since I came super late to Twilight I saw Twilight February in the afternoon, no Fangirls around.

But I have to say I'm really afraid as well. I'm not even seeing the midnight release, I'm going to a pre Premiere here in Germany. FYI: Official premiere 26, the super pre premiere: 22.

It was a nightmare to get the tickets and I guess I will be surrounded by screaming fangirls. I got a newsletter a few days before the sold the tickets saying:

"Pre Premiere for all the big Fans of the Twilight saga on November,22. For all mature the official premiere is 22." Well thank you!!!??!?
Mature fans??? I was pissed reading this... But this doesn't keep me from going to the pre Premiere Nov, 22 at Noon!! Yes at noon! And it's a double feature...
    I can do it!

  17. I saw Twi in the budget theater. I was super excited because I thought I'd be alone. Well...the local special needs group was there. Now don't get me wrong (hellooo I have an autistic son), but the crazy grunts and yells during the kissing scene was a total buzz-kill. I would've taken the teens anyday.
Anyways, I'm going to see NM at midnight and then go again the next day. Hopefully, no one will have to smack ME in the head for whimpering when The Precious comes on screen!

  18. I saw Twilight in a discount theater just before the DVD was out. After seeing the trailers and clips 847 times I sat there in silence wondering WTF happened to the rest of the movie.

Now that I'm a full-fledged Twitard, I have decided to go to the NM midnight premiere for "the experience." And now that it's 10 f*ing days away, I realize I'm delusional. I'm going at 12:05 because the first 4 showings are sold out. Who the hell do I think is attending? Every sane (all right, that's stretch) 30- or 40-something woman in northern Colorado? No! I'll be surrounded by hundreds of screaming teenagers, just like when I saw Shawn Cassidy when I was 16. (Did they not pay good money to actually HEAR him sing, for the love of all that's holy?!) But I digress.

Go for the once-in-a-life-time phenomenon and story that this will provide. Inebriated of course. Then go back during the matinee and see it in peace, kleenex in hand, heart in throat. That's my plan and I'm stickin' with it.

  19. Oh STY. Thank you for this lovely shout out. Truly I had no idea my post would spark so many great posts and conversations. And the fact that you and JJ posted about it is truly humbling. *blushes* Thank you sincerely.

Also on a Twitard note: WOOOOOOOT!!! Fuck Yay 800!!! Good Lord who'd a thunk it, huh? LOL

Okay opening night: A MUST!!! Always a must. I am a die hard midnight anything fan. WoW, HP, Twilight, you name it, it's midnight, I am THERE. And all the effery with opening night I wouldn't trade it for anything. There's just something magical and wonderful about being there, your body pumped, the crowd totally into it... There is nothing like it... maybe a mosh pit. *winks*

My issue isn't with squeals or even Tweens who are far to excited but with people not respecting others. We are ALL in love with Twilight. We ALL deserve to be there. So I am merely asking for people to be respectful and love on one another. We are a fantastic community, I have faith that even the Twitards can show some manners. *winks slyly* But I will say this, after going 200 days without seeing one damn thing, I will duck tape someone in two seconds flat if they start singing. Just saying. =D I heart you ladies. Enjoy the premiere and thanks for your fabulous blog.

    PMSL, love that image!

We don't have a midnight showing here either, but I'm feeling a bit scared about going on opening night. Seeing the trailer on the big screen was bad enough. Oh, and I'm scared more for my own behaviour than the tweens, I still clap involuntarily every time I see a trailer online *sigh*.

I never saw Twilight on the big screen. No, not at all ;o), I was very late to this party.

@mmMoxie - suggesting a drink before we go. Sorry, I'm not touching any liquids for at least 2 days before I go, I know what my bladder's like, not risking having to leave that room for anything once the film starts. Well, it's either that or catheterisation. Actually, maybe toting a bag of piss might make the tweens give us a wide berth, worth considering...

  22. When Twilight came out last year my coworker and fellow Twifan were totally excited to see it and completely underestimated the fans. We thought it is a Thursday night what parent is going to let their kids come out at midnight for a movie on a school night (hell I know my parents would have never let me do that when I was a kid) I got off of work at 10 and we headed to the theater and the line was already out the front and around!!! When the previews started and they announce the whole please be quiet and courteous I looked at everyone around me in that packed theater and said (probably not as loud I think it was) "that means you bitches!" I sometimes hate that I am all talk and no action because I hate when people talk during movies. Anyway there was some screaming in the beginning and when the Cullen kids walk into the cafeteria but other than that from what I remember it went really well. I know my bff and I were silently squeeing and smacking each other through the whole makeout on the bed session though. We considered not going to see NM at midnight to avoid the teens but decided we couldn't handle it. So the tickets are purchased and I am counting down the days

  23. @F-Kat- so awesome that you're going to a drive through.

Yeah, I didn't see Twilight in a theater at all, I downloaded it on torrent.
I might be the only person here who watched the movie first, and then read the books. I have no idea how I found out about Twilight, I think it was on every website I clicked so I was curious to see what it was.

Oh, and I just found out the release date for NM. It's Dec.3. I already made sure my hubby goes with me. And, I've started reading the books to him - in English. :D

  24. I'm not looking forward to battling the twi-twats, but I can't handle the idea of NM showing at midnight without me being there. I figure I'll be so far into the "Rob Zone" that I'll be oblivious to my surroundings. I did do the midnight thing for Twilight (just to keep my daughter company; I never in a million years could have predicted I'd leave with an obsession), and it wasn't too crazy, but that was before the whole phenomenom really took off. I wish I could see NM in a theater filled with Twitards!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Those of you who think you will avoid the tweens by going to the matinee on the 20th, think again. My attorney said his wife (he has 3 tween girls) took them out of school to see Twilight...yikes, we may not be as safe as we think! There is no Midnight showing to my knowledge here so I am afraid, since nothing goes on in school the Friday afternoon before Thanksgiving Holiday that it might be nearly as bad as the midnight show if there was one. Plus this is a college town so I am hoping all have fled the town. I think I am asking too much though. I will endure it also, the tickets are bought and I am preparing for the worst. I can get really acid if I can't hear for the screams, I must hear that kissing scene again (I confess I did see the spoiler and it is incredible)...I just might need that bail money. LOL

  26. I can hardly wait. Going with a group of gals that are all 30-somethings to the double feature. Dragging my little sister (also a fellow Twitard) along. I never have problems with those irritating people at movies. Probably has to do with being 6' tall and having a low "put up with crap" level. It will be in full force because this is My Edward.

  27. I'm worried I will be the twat stain.

Adding pre-(twi)outen to my Twicabulary. It's so true! I'm leaking out of the closet to real, actual humans (vs. online friends and fan fic groups) and it is scary stuff.

  28. @uhyesplease i am sooooo with you lol.

i went to the midnight showing of Twilight. it wasn't bad. a few sighs and gasps; lots of giggles for Carlisle and Jasper but other than that, not bad.

for New Moon, i'm going with a group of 13 women ranging from late 20s to mid 30s. i'm afraid i'll be sighing and oogling Rob in between slapping some tween who won't shut the hell up over Taylor.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I admit I was a late Twi bloomer, I saw the film through some random selection at an online dvd hire thing and didn't really know much about it, the film never really got the hype her in dear old Blighty ladies. Anyhoo I watched the film and lost the plot totally just about when Rob walks in the canteen really. After that a friend loaned me a book as I had never heard of the books either and that Twi fans was that. Since then I have become the snivelling, shaking addicted Rob ho you see before you!! So of course New Moon was booked as soon as tickets became available. We have to wait till the 20th November here for it to come out and although I did look for midnight screenings I decided against it as my other 9 twi addicts couldn't go at that time. We are ascending en masse at 8pm on the 20th with small bottles of wine and plastic wine glasses to watch it. I'm now in fear that there will be screaming twiteens there when all I want to do is watch the film, sigh and dribble a lot at Rob, squeeze my friends hands as I refrain from cumming when he takes his shirt off. The latter I'm not sure will be possible when he will be on the huge screen in semi naked glory (pant pant) You've scared me now ladies that I may now have to sneak back furtively during a daytime screening when the tweens will be at work/school/college to watch it alone like the dirty rob loving ho beeatch I am. Though I'm sure I won't mind sitting alone watching the golden one on a huge screen (chortle)

Actually now gorgeous fucking sex God Robward is in my life maybe I do.
That's a difficult one, sitting with your daughter while your knickers are getting in a twist dear hehe.
As I mentioned yesterday I broke my fanfic cherry, unfortunately I was reading it on my mobile with my 17 yr old step son and my 11 year old son sat there. it was Isle Esme I was reading and very good it was. Becky sent me a link for MOTU. Holy fuck fest Robman thank Rob I wasn't reading that in company!!! She is er very talented in her writing. I'm reading it all now haha (slightly hysterical here) its just me and the computer till end of school. I was going to tidy the living room etc but shit I can't put this stuff down. I never thought I would read Twiporn in my life (shakes head) yet here I am biting my lip thinking hoo yeah baby, sign the goddam contract lol. Gotta go, need to fit another few chapters in. heh heh

Sorry on another note, I just watched this. I love how he is retaining his englishness at struggling with words to describe actions and fidgeting. 35. Funny that this subject has come up- because its definitely something I have been thinking about.... I am so so so excited to finally see this film and all I have been thinking about all these months is that as soon as its out I am there! But then the reality of it all hit me! The tweeny fans, or just over zealous fans in general that would not and could not follow the simple cinema etiquette - the ones who could pretty much make or break the first NM experience for all! And that has made me rethink my game plan all over again….. I am in Dublin, as from what I can see there are no midnight screenings, meaning that the Fri and weekend sessions are going to be mental! There are sessions that are all ready booked out, and I kind of panicked booked a matinee session on the Saturday – to not miss out on opening weekend…. But the truth is, it will not be the viewing experience that I have had in my head over all these months, where it would just be me (granted in a cinema with other punters – who would of course be quietly watching) and this awesome movie that Chris Weitz has made, allowing me to take it in all the ROB(!)/New Moon/ROB(!!)/Taylor greatness with no distractions…. So what to do?

I know that because I have been looking forward to this for so long, if I was to wait until the crowds died down a little before going to see it, it would be like torture!
So do you endure it or do you wait? And also because to a degree I am in the twicloset ( I don’t hide the fact I am a fan, recommend the books to everyone. But the extent of my “interest” in all things twilight is not as well known!!!), I am in my early 30s, I really would be just so happy to go see it the 1st time ( because once is never enough!!) alone, so its just me and the film- well you know what I mean – Wow, does that sound mad/sad/bad?!! I am even considering getting an early pass from work and going to an afternoon session, but being a Friday I would say it will be filled with tweens! Its times like this that you wish that cinemas come equipped with person head phones, so no matter what is going on around you, you don’t miss a beat of the film and can get totally engrossed!!! Truth is, as Cutie, JJ, STY and others have said we are all the biggest fan in our own minds, and we all have our own version of what our NM viewing experience should be like, so I guess all we can do is pray that everyone respects that…… well, we can hope anyhow!

Now, back to my mountain of work!

    ReplyDelete
  36. @cutie summed it up for me. I am going for the experience. It is my first midnight movie of any sort, and I may be a screamer....We are all there for the LOVE so I am sure I will have a chance to analyze the movie on a future, less wild showing. I am taking the 10 yr old and several girl friends. But, as ususal, I am the one I am worried about!

    ReplyDelete
  37. OK, everything I've read so far is sorta reassuring - I think we'll be able to keep our cool (what little we've got) and not go too bonkers! this will be the first time I've ever been to a midnight showing of anything - and i rarely venture into the city to see a movie unless it's something i absolutely positively won't be able to see elsewhere! i am keeping my fingers crossed for an exciting, super-charged crowd but maybe one that doesn't make me feel homicidal. oh and i may have to sedate JJ, 'cause she'll definitely go nuts on anyone she finds deserving of her wrath - lol... barring that, we'll be at the theater the next day... and the one after that, i imagine! : )

any way it goes down, it's going to be an event i wouldn't miss for all the world and the anticipation is killing me!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm late comer to twilight also (I've known about it for a while but only saw the movie/read the books this year).

From experience, there's always an annoying someone, how speaks loud enough for you to hear them, wherever your seated. As anon said "Its times like this that you wish that cinemas come equipped with person head phones"
But I think what I hate the most is when they keep smacking the back of your seat! Grrr!

@STY and JJ: as far as the bail money, I'll see what I can do because I'm going to need it if a fan decides to start reciting the words/sing songs/smack my seat/keep me from hearing the dialogs in general. I'm a bit like Paul; I'll snap and go all wolf-y on them!

I usually shhush everyone around me after the first squee.
My sister says I get this scary look on my face as if I'm going to rip someone apart. I think she's exaggerating; I'm such a sweet person. Am I not?

I wish we had drive-ins here. Sounds nice being isolated.

If I'm being rude and offended anyone, please forgive me. But know that when you disrupt my hability to fully enjoy a film, this is, listen to the actors and not to my chatty neighbour, you are offending ME.

  39. I live in the UK and am seeing it at 12:01 cant wait but the great thing about the cinema i'm going to is that they dont let under 18s in the cinema past 10 unless they're with a responsible parent.Thank God.
I went to see it the first day it came out, there was no screaming, just some occasional giggling which was bearable. I'm going with a friend who doesnt really get what Twilight is so at least she wont be tapping on my shoulder at squee moments. I'm just afraid i'll start laughing at the wrong moments. Hopefully we will all act like stereotypical British people and hold it in till we walk out of the cinema. Yeah right.

  40. I went to an opening day showing and there was everyone from Cougars to pre-teens. I was with a large group of late 20's so we were somewhat composed. As the Cullens and Jacob came into the movie the pre-teens screamed. It was so funny to us that they were so excited that it didn't bother us that they were a little rowdy.

On another note I am off work at present with torn muscles in my arm and Becky sent me a link for MOTU, I have read all 40 chapters and done nothing all day. In the name of all that is Robness, I am addicted to fanfic and that is noe might fine piece of writing; even if I say so myself. Right reality returns time to pick children up from school.

  42. @nebilet - there are 40 chapters now?! Holy shit, she must have updated. Damn you. LOL.

I'm expecting the midnight show to be mayhem so I feel like I'm kind of prepared for it. I think someone else said it here, too but I figure anything I miss I will see the next day when I go and watch the movie again.

As long as no one rats me out for sipping whiskey, I'm all good. LOL.

Oh, who the hell am I kidding. There is a strong possibility that I will start shrieking at various scenes.

  43. As much as I would looovee to see New Moon the SECOND it comes out, I know I'd go nuts if I had to listen to a room full of tweens (and adults, who am I kidding? lol) screaming the whole time. I went a few days after Twilight came out and the theater was nice and quiet. I could hear everything just fine, which is what I intend to do this year. Man, that makes me sound like an old person, but I like to hear Rob, not just stare at his pretty face :o)

Have fun on the 19th ladies!!!

  44. I am going to the midnight showing strictly for the experience. After being in a bookstore for the midnight release of Harry Potter 7 and loving every second of it, I decided to try this. I am aware that I may not be able to hear anything and that I may end up with a crappy seat but I am willing to take the chance just to see what it is like. I just hope I can stay awake ;) My next decision is if I want to try and see Twilight before the midnight show of New Moon. I missed Twilight on the big screen and I am very tempted. I still have to decide who is going with me to the show.

  45. "And this - possibly worse - scenario: What if I'm not the (hero) sane, respectful Twilight-obsessed movie-goer??? What if I'm the (bad guy) screaming, freaking-out twat stain??? Gah!!"

I didn't see Twilight in the theater until it had been out awhile and hadn't even read the books yet. With New Moon, however, there's not a doubt in my mind that I fall into the above category. Hell, I thought that type of behavior was part of the Twitardia bylaws ;)

Seriously though, I have tickets for the midnight showing (and two more showings on the 20th for starters), but I have also been invited to go to an early screening of the movie at my local theater (a good friend's son is one of the managers there). But now I'm torn. On one hand, I would love to watch the movie with only a handful of people in the theater and not be distracted. On the other hand, there is something to be said about being "in the moment" with a group of fans equally obsessed enough to go to a midnight showing.

    What would you guys do?

  46. @JennyJerkface-yep 40 chapters sorry, I have wasted, well not weasted but I have spent the whole morning and part of the afternoon reading it. I was gonna just read a couple(yeah right) and kind of got sucked in to it. Loving it, big time, so much fun.
So what do you think for Rob for Minister for Sexification of Everyday Life?

  47. The only midnight showing I've ever been to was "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" in the, err, '70's (did I just say that out loud?) when I was 14. I still can't believe Mommy Any Mouse let me do that. I'm nowhere near that cool with my kids! Of course, this is the same mom that took me and a friend at 430am to wait in line for Led Zeppelin tickets with all the pot smokers. She kept saying "Are you sure you want to go this concert?" I was going to pull a biology class attack on her if she asked me one more time. A friend of mine went to the last HP at midnight, but waited in line for 6 hours - no way I'm going to do that. After all, I could watch Twilight 3 times in that amount of time. So, I plan to see NM on Monday, while the little Mice are in school, and I'm purposely going solo. That way if I do anything embarassing, there won't be any witnesses. I'm also going to stay off the computer from 11/19 until I've seen the movie. I don't want anything to break my Twi-hymen with spoilers about how great it was, etc.

  48. I went to an evening showing on the first day that Twilight was out last year with a few of my similarly twi-crazy girlfriends. It was fun to see the tweens/teens going crazy (we enjoyed making fun of them and rolling our eyes) - the theater had great energy to it that enhanced the experience rather than detracting from it.

The same group of us are going again on the first night for New Moon. As a pack, I don't care if the teens think we are a crazy bunch of twi-moms - we will be able to throw out a mean collective evil eye if necessary.

In the end, you know you're going to see it many times, so if you miss some dialogue due to someone else's squeeing, it's all OK!

  49. @Z Any Mouse - You saw Led Zeppelin?! Very cool.

  50. @sprtzmom - I 'm a total Rob- whore, so I'd go see the quiet viewing AND the midnight show with the masses. You didn't say you had to choose one over the other, did you? I'd still be just as excited at the midnight showing, but then I'm not one of those spoiler-free virgins. ;) Every time is as good as the first time!!

  51. I love this post! My Twilight story is kind of funny. I found the books a couple of months after they stopped filming in my backyard. I live right across the river (in the Twilight movie) in Vancouver, WA. Anyway - I was a little pissed I had no clue about books that had been so popular and then made into a movie, VERY close to my house, completely without my knowledge.

I believe it was late August of '08 that I read Twilight, NM, Eclipse, and BD (which I didn't know had JUST been released) all in one week. My obsession was instantaneous. I couldn't wait to see it brought to life.

At a wedding, I reconnected with two other ladies who turned out to be addicted to Twilight, just like me. So - I bought tickets for the opening weekend, but on the Sunday of it because a friend and fellow Twitard was coming and could only make it then. We all dragged the menfolk and went to squee like little gils. It was great!

At the time, I had no idea that Twilight was even supposed to be a teenie bopper thing. I just knew I loved it and so did my friends. There were maybe five people under 18 in the theater.

So - this year, I opted for the Sunday tickets too. This year the group is HUGE! I'm so excited. I even made a facebook event for it.

If anyone wants to travel to the Pacific NW to see Eclipse, you must come with me. The theater I go to has a few "special" (over 21) theaters that serve ALCOHOL!!!! Oh yeah - get drunk without kids and with Edward? Umm - yes please.

The big group will be going to the all ages theater, but they still have huge, comfy, reclining, leather seats and super wide aisles.

And, my daughter will be going with me, however, I worry less about her 11 yr-old screaming (which she doesn't do, besides a tiny squee every so often), than my friends that are coming. I think my daughter is more mature than most of my friends.

  54. So - the first time I saw Twilight, I thought it was, "pretty good." Now - I think it's great and just watched it with the commentary a couple of days ago. Anyway - afterward, I knew I had to see it again. The first time I was way too busy asking, "Did they get his eyes right?", "Did they get the casting right?", "Did they put this scene in?", "Is Alice cute enough?" (she's one of my favorite characters), and any other various comparisons I needed to make sure of.

The second time, I was in love. As a fan of Harry Potter, I grew used to the idea of not being able to fit the book into a film. I knew going into Twilight, that I would be missing some things, but I learned to focus in on the tone of the film. Because if a director can capture the feel and texture, then it's a good movie, if not - it all goes badly wrong.

But for New Moon - I KNOW Chris Weitz has NAILED IT!

  55. @StarlitViolets: I think I'm going to camp at your door to try to get a glimpse at the crew filming Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.

  58. @uhyesplease LMFAO at Part 2, no. 1.

Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, could get me to go to the NM midnight showing. The likelihood it would be ruined by some 14 year old and her ear-piercing squeals is too high for me. I have waited for over nine months, quite impatiently I'll add, to see this movie and no one is going to be given the opportunity to F-it-up. No one. Not even Rob himself.
I probably won't even go on Nov. 20. Maybe the matinee on the 23. I haven't decided. Why am I will to put it off for three extra days? Because I'm a control freak. I want it to be quiet, calm, peaceful, so I can get completely engrossed in the moment. Maybe on the third or fourth showing, I'll throw popcorn at Jacksper for attacking Bella and boo Robward for slinking off like a chicken, but until then -- don't f-with-me. =)

  59. This is likely going to get me kicked out of twitardia, or stoned (and not in the cool high kind of way, in the ouchy getting hit by rocks kind of way...) and this is to no one in specific, just to people interested in attending the event in general.

But, here goes: Don't be that bitch that harshes everyones buzz if you're going to a midnight showing.

Yes, there are some behaviors that will be over the line no matter where you are, and if they occur, darn tootin go get the usher and have their ass kicked out, but, you have to accept the parameters of certain events.

If you go to the first showing of a kids movie on any given saturday afternoon, there will be tons of loud little kids, and you have not right to tell them to be quiet if they are in the realm of normal little kid noise.

If you want to see the kid movie in acceptable old people silence, you go to the 8pm or later showings (when you have every right to look down on parents with little kids in there and if given the opportunity shame them for having their kids out still) Just as you can tell any kid to shut the hell up if they're making noise in an R rated movie.

Yes, everyone wants to see this thing the moment it comes out. The cost of that is going to a midnight showing. Which means you have to be prepared to accept a certain level of squee and excitement.

No it does not mean you need to just take top of the lungs karaoke (again get the usher) but, you can't shush yells and applause when there's hotness and or action.

If you can't handle that, go to a later showing. It's the cost of doing business.

Yes, in an ideal old world, you paid your money just like everyone else and are entitled to enjoy it, but, in the real world, midnight showings are when the costumes and crazies come out.

Plan in your mind to go to the midnight for the experience, you'll have to go again later for the studying of every second of the movie.

On that note, I plan to be within reason, but, know I'll bee squeeing like a crazy teakettle when the wolves come out, when jacob whips his shirt off for the first time, when Edward comes out, when the volturi lay the smack down, the fountain scene, you know ... all the good parts!!! (and don't get me wrong, I'm not putting up with anything out of control, but, I'm prepared for the nature of the event and rolling with it!)

hopefully didn't get my member card revoked ;)

    ReplyDelete
  60. @ Molly (Twinatic) - I actually really agree with you, and I suspect lots of people here would too. I think it's really over-the-top behavior, like talking loudly when there's just normal dialogue onscreen and no really reason to squee, that would upset some of us.

    ReplyDelete
  61. @Selene: I actually live right across the Columbia River from Portland, OR, where the first film was made. The middle two were made in Vancouver, BC, in Canada. But there's a lot of talk of BD being filmed in Portland again, like Twilight. It's confusing because my city is Vancouver, WA and the Canadian city is also called Vancouver.

The cool thing is that I've seen all the locations they filmed even without trying. The waterfalls are famous in the Columbia River Gorge, and Mr. Star's family owns property at the coast, only a coupld of hours from Forks. Pretty much all of Washington looks likt Twilight. And yes, it really rains that much here. :P

  62. I didn't go to the midnight showing of Twilight, I went to the 7 pm showing on Friday. It wasn't too bad, but then again my friend's cousin had rented out the theater so it was full of mostly over women over the age of 25 and a few husbands. Everyone was quiet and only squee'd at the right times. I will be seeing the midnight showing of New Moon and I'm not quite sure how I feel about it yet. Check back with me the day after. And as far as bail goes, if it's just a misdemeanor bail is normally pretty cheap. Felonies will cost you more for sure. So just make sure you leave all the sharp objects at home and you should be fine. :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. @Molly- Great points!!

Now get off my lawn! :D Haha. I would enjoy the midnight madness of the event IF, once the movie started, everyone would shut the hell up. I want to hear every word and nuance that falls from the lips of the precious. Once that's been committed to memory, oh after about the 4th or 5th showing, I would like nothing better than to attend a Twitardy screening where all of us could scream, shout, comment, sigh, sob, orgasm, whatever. Of course drinking and being otherwise loud and obnoxious is expected.

So my first time will be quiet. Just me and Rob. (sigh)

  64. Didn't see the midnight showing, I was still too deep into the books to be pulled up for air. Saw a regular showing, hated it. I was still swimming in the "book" twilight and to this very second I want to string up the adapter and director and leave them there to shrivel....

Moving on. I did however see the midnight release of the latest Harry Potter, which contains equal parts teen/adult to the Twilight movies. And holy hell; after being up at 6am for work, dealing w/ work, going home and dealing with home, THEN going to a packed house. I finally did let loose on some twits behind me that would not shut the fuck up. Seriously, I'm there to see a movie not listen to your mindless chatter fuck you very much.

So in parting, I am slightly worried about New Moon. The plus side to my night is that is will be spent in a 21+ environment. That means of course that I'll be surrounded by adults hopped up on alcohol and fanfic - Lord help me. hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  65. @Molly/Twinatic - no revoked memberships - lol! I think you actually get a gold star or something - I don't disagree with your take - it is what it is - I may have to keep my hand clapped over my mouth for the parts where I'll want to shriek a teeny bit!

And can I tell you that I am getting chills JUST from imagining the parts you;re describing?! Not sure if my revirginization is "taking" or it's just the general build-up/anticipation, but I am going to be a hopped-up nut-ball the night of the premiere! I can only hope that because we are going to a benefit screening done in association with Twimoms the the crowd will be a little older. And I am AMAZINGLY jealous of those of you who have the 21+ bar-in-theater dealies - i want that BAD but no dice in this neck of the woods (and believe me, I looked - lol).

    : )

    ReplyDelete
  66. @Molly Twinatic - I agree too. If you're going to the midnight show, you have to take it at face value and know what you are getting into. It's kind of like going to Toys R Us at midnight on Christmas Eve. Be prepared! There WILL be tons of frantic parents who have had one too many eggnogs, and if they are doing all their shopping in one night, or just to pick up that last thing from Santa, there will be several tug-of-wars going on and shit everywhere. I did it once, never again.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I went to the midnight premiere and had a blast. Yes, girls we're bouncing around like they forgot their Riddlin, acting giddy and slightly out of control. It felt like a community of lusty wenches. The guys who worked the movie theater definitely had a shot at getting lucky if they played their cards right.
I was bubbling over with squee's just like the next fangirl, but I refrained from doing so during the movie out of curtosy to others. Maybe it was a muturity gap? Who knows, Im 31 and regressing every god damn day.
To add to my Twilight hysteria this time around, fanfiction has sorta pushed me over the edge of sanity...so at this point my reaction to the first Summit mountain will be interesting to say the least.

  68. Awww shiiiit. T-Nabs and I are totally going balls to the wall at the midnight showing. And I can almost PROMISE you we will be the bad guys. Well, not really bad. I know there will be drinking beforehand...and lots of picture taking...and we have coordinating outfits and TwiSoup swag.
I think it is very safe to say there will be lots of SQUEEs from everyone in attendence...and I'm fine with that for the midnight show. It's past most teenies bed time, it's exciting, it's fucking TWILIGHT!!! But when I go again on Friday and then Saturday...those biatches better watch it.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Yeah, I'm honestly okay with a little midnight madness or I wouldn't have recruited friends to go out before and make a whole night of it. Otherwise, what's the point. I am encouraged by the spoiler of the break-up scene. (Yes, I inadvertently saw it and hated myself for it after.) It was filmed in a screening room in Italy and you could hear a pin drop. I think when it counts, a collective breath will be held in the theaters.

@Kerri - Haha! I never thought about the potential teen sex to be had by pimply faced guys selling overpriced popcorn. Good call.

@Cat - That is just too funny!

@STY - Nikki Reed gave an awesome shout out to the Twimoms in her recent interview.

    @FKat - So cool!

    @Molly (Twinatic) - Great post.

  72. NEW MOON SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

If you already bought your tickets online (like I did, TWO months ago) make sure and you check to see if your theater added the Twilight double feature or not.

Mine did and it was a total pain in the ass to switch my New Moon tickets for Twilight/New Moon tickets. Which you will have to do because the theaters (or at least the ones here) will not be clearing out the seats in between.

So if you don't want a craptastic seat in the front row, you will have to go see Twilight before New Moon. (Not that I am objecting to seeing Twilight, just that they made it ridiculous to switch tickets.)

So yeah, obviously I am going to this, and yes I am scared!

  74. Obnoxious behavior happens whenever I go to the movies...so much so I rarely go to opening night of a movie anymore and I find out of the way movie theaters. Friends laugh cause without fail something goes on to be distracting during the movie when I am there.

I just can't believe people can't shut their fucking mouth and watch a two hour movie anymore without checking their cell phones, and whispering loudly across 5 people to all of their friends.

I am very afraid of what is going to go on during New Moon. While I didn't see Twilight until it was on it's way out of the movie theater without fail, a group of kids snuck in right when the cullens were making their grand entrance and were being complete twatwaffles through the whole scene and were eventually thrown out.

I looked up and staring out from the magazine rack was a picture of Rob and Kristen! Then I opened the magazine that was next to me right to the page with a Kindle pictured and the Twilight book on its screen. It made the wait at the doctor's office very pleasant.

  78. So, can I ask - for those not seeing the very first showings, will you be hunting down people's opinions of the film before your see it or avoiding turning your computer on at all. I can't decide what to do! Possibly just trying to avoid the internet for the few hours in between before I see it. That's going to kill me, my laptop is my life *sigh*.xx

Ooh, and am part way through MOTU and love it, off to read some more...

  80. I have to say for me, Midnight Showings are typically the best time to see it. In my town (Dallas) it seems to be that the most devoted fans that turn out are the most respectful. They get the obsession too, so it's generally pretty quiet and focused and for me, the best time to see it.

Everyone knows what's coming, holds their breath at the same time, laughs at the same jokes, and so on

  81. im the driver for the night, so there goes my plan of being shitface when i go to thw midnight showing of new moon. Im more worried about that fact that when they play twilight before hand that ill be quoting and reenacting every scene!

  82. I love going to midnight showings and I'm super excited to see New Moon at midnight, but I came pretty late to the Twilight bandwagon last year and by the time I saw it in theaters, it was a lot less crowded and there were no screaming teens. In fact, there weren't more than a handful of people in the theater each time I saw it, so I'm a bit worried about it all. But I just don't think I could wait any longer than midnight next Thursday.

And honestly, the palpable excitement in the air and the way everyone is so eager and thrilled to see a movie at midnight is one of the best parts of going to a midnight showing. Everyone there is anticipating it as much as you are and is just as excited.

However, I hate it when people are ridiculous and overbearing in their excitement, cuz they ruin it for the rest of us - a little bit of crazy is ok, but not too much.

  84. Another late chime in--I missed you all while I was away.

Soooooo, I wasn't even going to go to a midnight show for fear of the teeny boppers but then @Kitty_Elvis (who also lives in the fair city of Seattle) turned me on to the 21 and over theater showing midnight shows and they serve alcohol--total WIN!

While I get the respect thing for sure (I heart you @Cutie Cute) I cannot promise I will not squeee or possibly groan or utter a hushed "OMG! OMG!" or a "Holy freaking shit!" This to me is the beauty of seeing a midnight show is the total interaction of it all while everyone is buzzing with the energy of seeing the midnight show. I will be seeing it again on the 21st with 18 women in their late 30's/early 40's and I know we will not be without some commentary (we commented a lot amongst ourselves last year at Twilight).

(Speaking to my fture fellow movie audience) So, I apologize in advance if I annoy anyone in the theater and mean no disrespect but just know it's the alcohol talking....and chances are I love Twilight more than you so there!
    ;-)

  85. @Dangrdafne thank you for the links hehe.

I've been thinking about this going to a first showing etc, as I said I'm not going to a midnight showing as non on my Twi cronies could go, familys, kids, work etc so we're going to the 8 o'clock one, kinda hoping there isn't too much screaming etc, British audiences tend to be a little bit more under control. Its only when you get idiots in talking on their mobiles and amongst themselves that I get annoyed and have to jump up and yell at them. Yes I'm THAT person, I think if I have paid the money to see the film then I want to see it, if you've paid and you can't be arsed then fuck off out of it and let others enjoy. Its only common courtesy why pay 7 quid or whatever to watch a film then talk to your mate on the phone or next to you about nothing to do with the film. I KNOW there will be people whispering with friends (me one of them discussing the varying levels of hotness etc) but i won't be texting or calling ppl. Sorry rant over. I apologise if i have offended anyone, never having been to the cinema in America I don't know what its like. I'm gonna have a drink and go for a curry after anyway, its a British tradition lol

  86. @Stan - I've been battling with myself over that - avoiding the NM critique. I will definitely have to skip Twitardia for a few days after the premiere, as I really don't want to spoil my own opinion of it.

  87. I am aghast, awash with feelings of guilt and dilemma. I have been asked by a friend to lend her my Twilight books and film; cold sweat time here. I don't know what to do I mean she's my friend; I love her. But I can't seem to say Yes, here take my stuff, keep it as long as you want. Oh God! Another text I didn't reply to the last one. I'm still in a state of shock. I mean, I know I've read the books (lots of times) and I've watched the film so many times I know whats coming before Alice does but still...I think I'm going to have to say no. I'm actually contemplating going and buying them all for her and saying here have them, not a problem before she see's the depth of my addiction. Aw crap another text; she's gonna call me and keep bugging me. If I say no will she be pissed off with me, offended, disgruntled even that me, her best friend won't lend her a goddamn book (whimper) I can't do it, I have them here in front of me, stacked up, ready to go and I can't do it. They're like er special to me....I'm going to ring her, explain, try to explain. Fuck it I'm going to the shops to buy them again, I mean they're all battered to bits anyway.
Arrghhh she's ringing me.............I'll ignore it.....sigh. Oh ok so I've gone a littel psychotic, I answered the phone and shouted stay away from my books you evil cow, go buy your own, they're mine, I can't lend them to you, I'm still reading/watching them. Yes I know I've read/watched them before but I can't let you have them. Myabe in a year or two when I might have got over this. She thinks I'm mad.
OMG she was winding me up, I hate you I've screamed, stay away from Edward and me. Yes I did say that...its gone to far now hasn't it, this addiction lol.
But I mean under the circumstances, would you lend your books and dvd out and go cold Robward.

  88. @Nebilet - I have lent out my books before - which is why I now have 4 copies of Twilight, 3 of NM and 2 of Eclipse (you see, I'd wisened up before they all got to BD!). I get very jittery if I don't have a copy within 30 secs of me at all times. I've lent the film out but that's because I have a copy on my iTunes now. LOL at her winding you up though! I say no now if I don't have a spare copy!

Now, sssh, I'm going back to MOTU ;o)

    ReplyDelete
  89. @Nebilet - when a friend asked me to borrow my books, I too felt cold sweat slide down my spine. I said "Sure, sure", but the fact remains that I still didn't give them to her. Nor do I plan to. :D

    ReplyDelete
  90. Ohh thank you, thank you, thank you, it's not just me then, thank Rob for that.
    @Stan-MOTU-hehehehehe, very nice.
I'm reading the Office-er, that is also um very nice lmao

Wrod verif-dryin-I really wanna be dryin Rob off when we get out of the shower hur hur

  91. Well I'm taking the plunge and going with a twi-BFF at midnight on the 19th. I *know* I won't be able to hear the precious over the squeals. I know I will feel irritated as fuck, but I also know that I will be going back several times to see it. I just wanna be there. the thought of Rob being on a big screen somewhere without me being there to see it hurts my heart/vagina.

and @nibelet: I totally second your motion to make Rob the Minster for Sexification of Everyday Life. He should be named a cure for oestrogen deficiencies as well while we're at it.

v/w: Rob was just 'gruping' me in the showers, sir!

    ReplyDelete
  92. @slapmeonthe LOL@gruping. God I'd love to grup that man so much.

The Minister for Sexification of Everyday Life is the most beautiful man I've ever clapped eyes on-sigh-reading the office-I feel so bad lol

  93. @nebilet and stan - When knowing I was going to be giving away copies of my books...I went and bought more (I feel very lucky that I can afford to do that in these times). I now have 2 Twilight, 4 New Moon (ok one is in Italian so it isn't likely I will be reading that one), 2 Eclipse and one Breaking Dawn (but will have at least another of these once the paperback comes out). I have decided I will have one of each in hard cover, paperback and movie paperback then I will never have to worry about lending out my books ; )

PS I broke down and bought tickets to see Twilight in the theater before the midnight New Moon. The tickets were only $5 each and the theater says they will have contests and prizes between the movies!

  94. Ok, I'm gonna get in serious trouble if I don't stop reading fanfic. YOU PEOPLE HAVE CORRUPTED ME!!!!! and er I love you all for it lol

    ReplyDelete
  95. @nebilet - Loaning out your books?! Run, run, as fast as you can. That request is enough to give any Twitard a stroke. I had to loan mine to my mother, who took waaaay too long to read them. I mean, WTF, she doesn't even have a job, or kids to take care of anymore! I was re-reading them right after her, and she took forever. She totally fucked up my schedule and is the reason I've only read Breaking Dawn once. Now my daughter (age 10) wants to read them. After a lifetime of teaching her to share, what the fuck am I supposed to do?! Under no circumstances are they going to school where they will get trompled in her backpack, then drooled over by all her little 5th grade friends. I may just have to buy her the box set, because I have just discovered that I am very selfish! Leave my Precious alone!! I heart you my little girl, but he's mine, all mine!

    ReplyDelete
  96. Mmmm have to agree any mouse I don't appear to be able to share. I have had one other friend ask me who knows how addicted I am and I did manage to say look I'm sorry I know I've read them all several times but I'm just not done yet!! She actually agreed and went and bought her own lol

    ReplyDelete
  97. @nebilet - I could not bring myself to loan my books out either. To date, however, I have gifted the original Twilight paperback to four friends. All of them have gone on to buy the rest of the series on their own, and two of them are going with me to see New Moon :)

@Dangrdafne - I have one complete set of the original cover paperpacks and the large movie cover versions for Twilight and New Moon. I've already told my kids that I'd like the hardback collector's set and the small movie cover versions for Christmas.

  98. I'm googling Robert pics for to send to my sadly addicted Rob ho's and for my private stash fnar fnar.
@Stan when you gonna get these fave pics of rob up? I will email mine shortly.
Ooo distracted by sudden gorg pic of Minister for Sexification himself, er where was I?

  99. @Nebilet, was going to put more reminders out first, not had many.

If anyone wants to contribute, over at Edbrella we've asked for people's fave Twilight pics to put up in one post :o)

  100. Hmmm just reading that clipped wings and armoured ink fanfic and realised that when my mum got divorced I changed my name to Masen as a teen before i got married (1st time)Also i have a shit load of tattoos lol

  101. fellow Twitard and I are going to a midnight screening of MN - in exactly SEVEN days - WOOOOOT. (yep, thats how we roll here in OZ - ahead of the times.)

We are going to a Gold Class session, which means tix are $40 a pop and the cinema seats max 40 people. Yeah. So hopefully that equates to : less fangirliness and teenagers due to the cost alone.

Thats my theory anyway and I'm sticking with it, besides I am also booked into a special Gold Class screening the opening saturday organised by website Aussie Twilight Mums so hopefully btw the two screenings I can piece it all together...not to mention the times I need to go with my sister (def NOT a Twitarded one...) and other gf who cant make opening night. I Will be sure to report back when I arrive home at 3am..

  102. Just finally read this post, too many Rob interviews to watch! haha

I have been on the Twilight crazy train since June 2008. I would have thought it would have eased up at some point, but unbelievably it hasn't.

I saw the midnight showing last year. I took my neighbor with me, who hadn't even read the books. We got to the theater (in a big 16 screen cineplex) a couple of hours early. At first I was worried, I will admit. 14 year old girls were flitting about, random "squees" would come out of nowhere, I could feel myself batting down the hatches.

But when the movie started, it was..............fine. Absolutely perfect movie watching atmosphere. No screaming, catcalling, whistling or yelling. It was like we were all in a trance, like an Edward Cullen trance.

I completely understand your fear. I am worried about this year too. Maybe last year we just got lucky. But don't prejudge based on the loony-tunes pandemonium in the (hours) before the movie starts. Maybe you'll be surprised like I was!

  103. @StarlitViolets: I think I'm going to camp at your door to try to get a glimpse at the crew filming Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.

@sprtzmom1721: I'm with F-Kat, you don't have to choose; just go see them all. Though I'm really jealous of the quite early screening.

    WordVerif: "Rob, I'm pledin'..."
