David Slade Tweets Eclipse Teasers! [Non-Spoilers]

Dear David Slade, please deliver the goods with Eclipse?
Pretty please with Robert Pattinson on top???

I took the day off today (when I have available vacation-time at the end of the year, December is all about the long weekends - wooo!) and was lurking around on the interwebs, checking out what was going on in the wonderful world of Twitter. I've said it before and I'll said it again: Twitter is awesome and although I am inept at almost every technology know to mankind, I kinda sorta have Twitter figured out. At least compared to JJ, who is so useless she didn't even realize she wasn't following people she thought she was (you know who you are and she's sorry! Really!).

Anyhoo, I've been following David Slade on Twitter since he came on board as the director of Eclipse (someone else on this blog is NOT following him but thought she was...), and he's had some interesting things to say over the last months. Now that the movie is in post-production and we are all salivating for it to be late June already, it looks like he threw the Twidom a few juicy bones today! Nothing spoiler-y, but enough to make me "Squeee!" a tiny bit. First Eclipse-movie-related fan-girl moment - hopefully the first of many!!!

I know some of you have already read these, but I figured that some folks may have missed them and I wanted to share! 'Cause I'm nice like that. Ok I'm not all that nice but whatever...

Wolf reviews today, looking better & better. The Eclipse story and they way we approached the film calls for a much more realistic approach.

Been quite a week, we almost have our composer, all fingers crossed for some great news soon.

As we cut. Edward seems to be a really strong presence, the intensity of the love story & rivalry between Jacob is in the driving seat. Jacob & Bella are matching with intensity, & it's all even with the action sequences. Right now we are in a great state of balance. Still we have 200 days to go.
ok so I am siding with Team Edward: http://io9.com/5417371/the-only-team-edward-shirt-youll-ever-need

Team Edward James Olmos! David Slade likes him from his role in Blade Runner... I loved him in Blade Runner and I used to looove him on Miami Vice back in the day...

The wild success of New Moon this weekend is both humbling & exciting as we continue Post on Eclipse. Thanks to you lot for the support.

1st week of Eclipse director's cut (we get 10) goes really well, spent a lot of time getting visual effects going, still a good solid week..

  1. Holy crap!! I'm first again??? Woohoo!!! Do I get an award? No? Oh well..

Anyway...I read this post even though it said 'spoiler free'. I'm a whore for the spoilers.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for Eclipse. I can't wait to see edward work his sparkles the whole movie through...not just 1/3 of the way.

    Love you guys!

  2. hey Mrs. P!! we should definitely give you a prize or something!! we're glad you are around - lots of people seem to be off doing other RL stuff and I commend you for your commitment! Go you!

    : )

We'll try to keep things interesting even for the spoiler whores - hehe.

david slade is giving us little dosis of our twineed and i love how he cares about the fans. eclipse looks so good...and we haven't even seen a promo pic...i am so happy for the putcome of new moon that i think eclipse will nail it too

  4. thanks for that. you are 50 shades of amazing! i busted up over EJO...he does stand and deliver though.
dang, i've been cockblocking twitter since day one...but you ladies have me rethinkin' shit.

we'll see what slade has to offer, and it can't come soon enough for me.
he kinda looks like mr. clean to me...maybe he'll come and erase the dirt and grime from all this mess!!

  5. I am so excited for Eclipse. I think David will deliver. He’s seen New Moon and now, he’ll understand. You go on with your bad self, David. Fucking rock it!

So, who’s directing BD or have they approved it yet? I really wished Guillermo Del Toro was available. He would have done a BRILLIANT job with it.

  6. oh! i forgot to say you fucking rock so hard for the 'Blade Runner' ref. it's in my top 5. nice.

  7. Too funny about JJ. I was on twitter earlier (via computer; don't have access to it through a cell phone) and was laughing my ass off over your tweets. The #FF seem to be causing quite a stir, and JJ was locked/blocked/cockblocked, etc. Not to mention Twiptonized was drunkity drunk. Fun stuff!

At any rate, I have been following David Slade from day one, and have also enjoyed the stunning photographs he has taken along the way.

Unlike that spoiler whore Mrs. P., I really hope to be stronger this time around. I felt physically ill after watching the entire breakup scene when it was leaked online. It think it would have had a much stronger impact on me if I had seen it with new eyes in the context of the movie.

Like I posted earlier tonight, there are a lot of great moments in Eclipse between Bella and Edward and they better all be in the movie. Taycob owns New Moon, but he'd better not own Eclipse.

  8. STY you know I love you almost as much as my two children but (and I know this was not the point of your post)how can you mention Edward James Olmos and not mention 'Battlestar Galactica'? OK, I know I am outing myself here but I love that show (the most recent version in case you are wondering...though I did watch the original too...shut up! Yes, I am that old!). He was fracking awesome in it. I gotta say I like D. Slade's sarcastic humor at any rate.

OK, so I am a "glass half full" kind of person and though I think David Slade is most definitely not a romantic, I think he definitely has the artful eye...so, therefore, I have hope. I also have hope that he is enough of an egotistical bastard that he will not want to turn out something that is crap.

So double FU to you too David Slade and you better effing make us proud dammit!

  9. @Lisa---I love you more than Hershey Kisses...so if you ever fall off the wagon and rejoin the spoiler whores for Eclipse, I won't bite you...unless you ask me to...or if you are between me and RPatz. In that case, all rules are off.

w/v madros---Spanish for transvestite mothers. LMAO!!! I just myself laugh!!!

  10. I have not even ventured in to the land of twitter! I don't even comprehend what it is, like what do you do with it? You tweet people, or do they twit you?
Really have no clue! The little blue bird is cute...

Well, everyday I get a little more sold on D.Slade. Eclipse may be my fav. of the series (I flip between it and NM daily sooo) But after that still of E&B in the meadow was in People 8) Yeah can.not.wait!
Did ya here Eclipse going to IMAX! :O shitt dude...that's gonna be crazy!

  11. I 'Tweet' but I still don't get it! I'm in there as "Janners" if anyone is interested....now following JJ AND STY.

I don't want any spoilers for "Eclipse". I felt by November 20 that thanks to leaked footage, stills and trailers I'd seen New Moon - just not all spliced together. "Eclipse" is my favourite book!

Loved David Slade's "30 Days of Nights"!! If the vamp action in "Eclipse" is one tenth what it was in that movie, we are in for some seriously heavy vamp fighting shit!!

  12. I'm with JJ - I don't get some of the Twitter stuff. I do know how to follow people, but that's about it. I don't know what all the # or @ crap is about.

I've also been following David Slade on Twitter since he got the job. He's SO good at those teasers! Sometimes it's just a random out of focus pic he took on the set, and others it's a location they chose NOT to use. He's got a wicked sense of humor.

    ReplyDelete
  13. The time difference hacks me off with Twitter, it gets really busy when I'm trying to get tea at night and then all the good stuff happens when I'm in bed! I'm too lazy to scroll back over everything I've missed too now that I'm following so many people! If anyone wants to follow me or be followed, I'm on as @Edbrella

Oh, and I was going to go spoiler free for Eclipse but I can def feel the spoiler-whore in me twitching at those Tweets from the Sladester *sigh*

    ReplyDelete
  14. @Stan - I totally agree about those twitches. But if we can be good for NM, maybe we can suckle on Remember Me and the NM DVD as enough RPattz to get us through.

Also - I have time issues too! I'm a night owl, but live on the west coast of the US. So, everytime things get all Twittery and even with the comments here, I feel like I miss the boat. Everyone's sleeping when I'm up and up when I'm sleeping. Except you UK ladies - that works for me. :)

  15. Omigod, omigod, omigod... can'twait can'twait can'twait for Eclipse!! Gimme the leg hitch David Slade and you'll be ok in my book!!

Thank god for Remember Me between NM and Eclipse or else I might die from lack of Rob exposure.

@VitR - Um, you are not old.... I am older than you and I am not old, therefore you are not old. It's simple math really.

  16. I get all fangirl giddy when I see a David Slade tweet. And yes, twitter is my instant gratification crack fix. It keeps the mood light and thereby keeps me from shanking an asshat.

    ReplyDelete
  17. This prompted me to go poking around IMDB, which claims that Rob is going to be on the Tyra show Wed. the 16th at 3:00!
Can I bring myself to watch the Tyra show if it means I get some Rob time? Why yes, yes I can.

    ReplyDelete
  18. @Occams Tazer - Holy hell! Thanks for the tip. I have both of my DVRs set to autorecord, but I had no idea he was scheduled to make any kind of appearance during the Rob Drought. I've only watched her show one other time. Yep. Last year when Rob and Taylor were on it. Still can't believe he actually bit her.

    Woo hoo!

    Lisa

    ReplyDelete
  19. @OccamsTazer @Lisa I just looked at the Tyra website and it does not show that Rob is going to be on. I suspect (though I could most definitely be wrong) whatever you saw is a mention of a replay of when he was on her show last year. Maybe? Perhaps?

    ReplyDelete
  20. @VitaminR - Yep. Just went to my DirecTV guide and it's the 2008 show. Makes sense since we're in the middle of a Rob Drought. Damn! Good try though Occams Tazer.

  21. @VitaminR - 2 words for you....RICHARD HATCH - aka: Apollo (and for those of you too young to know who I'm talking about it is not the naked fat guy from the first Survivor)!!! Hot! And yep, I'm that old too. Fracking awesome...totally!

  22. @Sabrina - There's a name I haven't heard in awhile, but good call!

  23. Only thing I have to guy by on David Slade is the movie 30 Days of Night. That was a vampire movie, a very different kind of vampire movie. I thought it looked really cool but didn't feel any kind of connection or chemistry between any of the characters. I dunno. I guess he can't really fuck it up. I though Twilight could have been done a lot better and I'm not super psyched about how New Moon came out either.

Oh yeah, and every time I see David Slade I see Fred Durst (not a good image for me). Plus he seems like a complete douche bag with 'short man syndrome'. I think if I met him IRL I'd be compelled to kick him in the nuts. You better make a stellar film David Slade. If not, I suggest you start wearing a cup.

I'm still planning on being an Eclipse virgin. I will NOT view any leaked scenes! I will only allow myself to see the theatrical trailer.

Twitter....I don't do it. I have a crappy pre-paid phone. Blogs are enough of a time suck. I think if I were plugged into Twitter I'd never get anything done. My child would forget who I was and my husband would surely divorce me. I'll stick with the 100 or so blogs out there.

  24. Wow chickens (its an endearing term I use for very special folk, no worries), I must say that until yesterday's post and now today's lovin' about DS, I feel I must profess my undying kinship for JJ and STY. You were my first intro to Twi-love blogs after I finished reading BD and felt like I may need to lie down for a few years w/ a cold rag on my head. My adoration for Twi-ness is scary for a married mother of 3 kids under 6, still pretty smokin' hot (ok well hubby says at least), and I have tons of other things I NEED to be doing than reading fanfic but the kids can learn to apply wound pressure on their own, right? I adore you girls, and just needed to get it out there. I also am begging hubby to plz take me to see NM again tonight. I promised fanfic lemon worthy rewards, afterward- but he's being a turd-burger. So thx girls, you rock big hard ones, and I'm happy I found you in my life of ugly horny housewife-ness- or whatever the haters call those nudging 30 that wanna have one single day with Mr. Cullen, even though my hubby still rocks the casbah. I heart you both!

  25. Oops, sorry to get all prematurely panty-exploded over a re-run...of course, I didn't see it the first time around, so maybe I can?

I was searching through old posts of Rob vids a minute ago, and I nearly peed my pants when I saw one where the interviewer is someone I went to high school with! Laura Culpepper! I'm not even going to bother trying to call her, we barely knew each other. She was in maybe 8th grade when I was graduating, and that was long ago, I doubt she has any idea who I am. Nonetheless, I nearly died, and I'm hatin' on her a little right now.

  26. @Sabrina--oh yeah baby! Richard Hatch was totally hot. I was totally into him. It back in the day. It was so cool they had him the recent BSG too! He is still lookin' good. Total WIN. I tried to use Frack on here a long time ago and no one got it...maybe I should try again. JJ and STY might have words with me and my geeky scifi ass though. ;-) At least I wasn't the one to link the Edward James Olmos photo.....
