I'm An Unapologetic TwiPusher!

It probably won't come as a surprise to anyone (and I think I've discussed it here before) that I love love LOVE getting people I know into Twilight. I am a TwiPusher and damn proud of it! Granted, part of my motivation for spreading my addiction is a tad selfish. After all, if the majority of people I know love Twilight and obsess about it the way I do, then I'm normal. Right? Right?!

Don't worry, STY - there's nothing wrong with you that I can't fix...

Still, I guess I kind of forget sometimes that not every single person I know has read the series. Last night, Mr. Snarky's band was playing and I got a text from a friend I hadn't seen in a little while but who would be in attendance. Apparently, she had just gotten around to picking up the first book, and she'd essentially had the same reaction that we all had -
I just have to tell you that I started Twilight last night and I'm already on pg 334! Can't wait to see you tonight - bring Edward! xo
SWEET! I did bring Edward - he goes everywhere with me - and we hung out. Then I gave my newly-converted friend some Twitarded buttons so that she can go forth and spread the word...

Another friend of ours was playing the same gig with her band last night, and she had recently come across the blog, too (with a little help from Mr. Snarky). Honestly, I am a little sheepish at times when it comes to whom I share my obsession with in real life, mostly because I think some people might think I am totally nuts. Which I probably am... Ummm, make that "more nuts than they probably already think I am." She (and her s/o) gave me props on the blog, and I was absolutely flabbergasted. And really, really thrilled. We talked briefly and I found out that she has seen the movie but not read the book. And I felt a twinge. You know the one: it's the "I can covert this person!" promise of another potentially like-minded person on the verge. And I want to make sure that the Twilight takes, so to speak. Someone who has seen the movie and wasn't totally turned off to the whole thing has potential to become a full-fledged Twitard, imho. Sure, sure, she has infant twins and thinks she doesn't have time to read Twilight. I'm a realist and would have let it go at that, but then I read her blog and found out that she is playing FarmVille. Fuck it - if you have time for FarmVille, you have time for Twilight. I plan on leaving a shiny new copy of Twilight on her doorstep in the very near future. Nothing wrong with a little healthy competition, right?

You're cute, FarmVille folk, but you're no Cullen clan.

Being a Twitard is like being a member of one of those religious groups where you are compelled to go out and convert the unholy masses. And despite the fact that in the last year it would have been hard to avoid Twilight, there are still people out there who are in need of a friendly little push to get them on board. And I still love being the one to get them there! I feel like I have a renewed zeal for bringing people to the Twi-Side. I realize that at this point, most people who haven't already given the saga a try are actively avoiding it, but who doesn't like a challenge? I say "bring it!"

What about you? Have you given up? Are you still converting people? A select few?? Tell us about it in the comments!

  1. I certainly like a "Challenge"...but you guys know that already ;-). ANYHOO...I have 3 kids and a very large farm in Farmville and a blog...so there's always time for the Cullens!!!

I find that the people who aren't into it are actually scared to read it...like they know they'll get sucked in. I had a friend actually admit she won't read it, becaue she's scared of getting obsessed. LOLOL!!!

  2. ive given up. i love when i manage to find someone and convert them, but most of my friends that arent into it already refuse to read it. i managed to get one friend to start and then she stopped after new moon because eclipse and breaking dawn could only be found in hardback and she refused to pay that much for the books. pshaw. i think she is just refusing to be addicted like me. she wont give in. she says she wants to finish them, and just today she was talking about finding a copy of new moon online because she didnt wanna pay to see it... but she cares enough to download tons of crappy copies to find one that is watchable. total. denial.

  3. I'll be working on just a select few...I personally was tag-teamed when converted, and have personally converted 2 and had a hand in a third..I have 2 more prospects - but I have recently realized that I am a selfish bitch and if they don't convert..fine! I already have my 5some that are fans, while 2 of us should probably be committed...and besides, I've also realized that as potentials - they want to BORROW my books - wtf...I totally get stressed out when they're not in my posession - I seriously don't loan them out anymore! The last time I had to hound my friend who was taking more than 2 days to get through New Moon - she wised and got her own. So I'll work on a select few!

  4. I am proud to say I converted a friend today. She was trveling homme from holiday visits and had a twn hour car ride, so I convinced her, she finished it and she is HOOKED! It is such a gratifying feeling. Oh and my husband is coming out of the Twilight closet... check my blog for the begnning of the story.

  5. I am a full on pusher/dealer of Twilight. I have no shame anymore. The funny thing is other people always bring it up before me these days at parties and whatnot since I seemingly have a reputation now as a Twitard. Being out of the Twi-closet makes it so much easier to reel people in I must say. I have people at work now that stop by my office to talk Twilight (and yes, I pushed it on all of them)---love it! Of course, no one I know in my RL is as Twitarded as me...except for Kitty_Elvis who I met through this here blog. This is still the only place that my true no holds barred Twi freak flag flies.

So I say "Bring it!"...I am on a Twi-mission to convert those who do not yet believe. Kool-Aid anyone? ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  6. ok, so i just tell them how good the kool-aid is. i don't pour it and put it in their hands and yell chug chug chug.(wow i just had a college flashblack). i came into work tonite to find the evening charge nurse about 100pages into new moon. so we got to talking, she hasn't seen the movies. i had my team jacob water bottle(great xmass present) and she wanted to know which one he was. i inquired if she had seen the new moon trailer. she had not and she really wanted to know what edward looked like. i love being bad at work and hauled up youtube and went to town. 10minutes later she said damn you now i'm not going to get any sleep because i need to read more. mwhaaaaa.
farmville is cute- where are the dogs? i don't have any dogs.

  7. lol! if you have time for farmville, you have time for twilight...aint that the truth (i am so gonna use this one)
i am proud to have converted my sister, husband, mother-in-law and a couple of my friends into twitards and i'm sure as hell not done yet. the most gratifying one though was my husband.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I may give up being a pusher for selfish reasons (a la AnotherJenny) - I can't get my fucking books back! I loaned out Twilight and Eclipse to two different people several weeks ago and I'm 90% sure neither have cracked the cover. Work, holidays, too busy - yah, yah, whatever. I start twitching a little when The Saga is not assembled in my 'special drawer' for any length of time. (Yes, the same drawer where Robporn and a few other necessities of life reside.)

Aye, I will continue to preach the gospel but with directions to the nearest bookstore. Amen.

    ReplyDelete
  9. There is no greater rush than a successful Twi conversion! I made my first convert the summer of BD, before the movie even came out.

I've pretty much run out of likely converts - most of my friends like the Twi books and movies but are not obsessed. I work with a lot of guys who are not promising convert material. I did capture the girl across the hall - I warned her when I gave her Twi to take on vacation; she fell hard and has convertd a few others.

My peer group (the over 40's)thinks I'm nuts except for a good friend for whom I supply Rob porn. She just wonders how I get any work done...

Now I try to convert people to Twitarded since it's easier - you don't have to be deranged to enjoy it (although it makes it even better)

  10. I finally convinced my sister to read the The Gospel (after showing her your blog entry about getting Sister Snarky to read it), but alas, sometimes you can only lead a horse to koolaid but not create a Twitard. Anyways, now she knows enough to be dangerous and still wonder why I'm so obsessed. I did have much better luck mentoring two twi-virgin co-workers and begrudgingly accept responsiblitiy for creating a 43 year old Team Jacob monster. I, of course, promised to bring her snacks in jail and hold a fundraiser for her bail, as you have taught me a good Twitard would do.

  11. I was at the checkout fing hell, aka walmart earlier today and whe waiting in a hugetastic line I saw a random mag dedicated to all his glory and hotness . rpattz. I forget the name if it but it was disgarded amungst the gum and slim jims. I did the quick lookthrough and put it down, Like the cheap badstard that I am. I've seen all of the pics before anyway. So a chick and her balled homeboy/handlebar stash kind if man came behind me. The chicks rpattz radar went off and she swooped in on the mag. The ese, um I mean bf, says to her, are you going go get that? You already have a callendar. I start lol'ing and get excited cuz this chola chick likes rpattz!! I mention that I'm a fan and totes team Edward and we totally had a moment. I bust out pocket Edward and she does a fangirl squeeeee. She has never seen a shadesward doll. I shit u not. I asume she has read the books. The bf says no for her, she's only seen twilight. I encourage her to read it. She tells her man to go het her the book. We continue to chat, I show her hot pics of rob that are on my phone, a pic of my custom twi hat I wore to the midnight screening and a esty twi necklace that I got. She was tripping out. Convert fo sho! And she won't be the last!!'

  12. Well this seems to be my meaning to life..

If I am involved in an awkward conversation (eg my husband's friends wives whom I've never met before or something) I always start with.. So, have you read Twilight???

I get real mad at the people **coughs sister-in-law** who shit on Twilight and anything to do with Twilight but haven't read the books or even seen the movie or even a trailer for that matter.. I would end our heated debate by saying that she is just jealous because she has no idea what is going on and if I was in her position I would be jealous too. Its like not being included in your clique..

I am always on the ball to convert, I have been known to get quite a few people hooked and to keep them happy and the withdrawls down once they have finished the series I usually lead them here or email links to console them.. I feel obliged to keep them going once I have created the addiction..

  13. I freakin' despise Farmville. I even joined an FB group for people who hate Farmville. I woke up one morning and when I checked my home page and every flippin' status update was of Farmville, I knew something had to be done and blocked the application. Grrr, that application makes me angry, lol.

  14. ooooooh.. my Step daughter came over for christmas and told me that she got Twilight dvd for a present.. (shes 11 and i dont get to see her ever often).. i got a very smug, gooy feeling inside as i rushed in and grabbed by book for her to read.. figure if shes seen the movie then reading the book cant really be such a bad influence.. I felt a deep down connection to her right then and there!!.. lol..

    ReplyDelete
  15. I am indeed a TwiPusher! This xmas I gave a copy of the book to my niece, a copy of the film to my sister, my friend, my best friend recieved the film and new moon book, as she already had Twilight (infact it was her copy that i read first - before she'd even read it!) TwiPusher indeeed I love it!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Oh and I freaking love the comparison to Farmville = a lot of my family play that, but have no read/seen Twilight and actively take the piss outta me for my obsession. Obviously pixel cows and sheep are better no? (yes im being sarcastic)Infact Im quoting you on my fb status just to get a rise outta them.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I hate Farmville. It littered my newsfeed until I blocked the application, like Juan did.

Oh, I have been a very, very bad Twitard, because I didn't manage to convert anyone into one, but I did hook several people on fanfiction, some of who haven't read Twilight or even seen the movies, so that kinda redeems me a bit... doesn't it? *grin*

    ReplyDelete
  18. I must be the only person who had never heard of FarmVille until last week when I was asking Jenny why it sounded like she had a herd of goats in her home... I don't think I have room in my life for another obsession so I think I will stay away (and resist anyone who attempts to get me into virtual overalls - lol).

    : )

I am definitely a Twipusher!! I have converted a friend, my sister and the best is my MOM!! Although the funniest part is that my Mom has really taken it and run with it. She is reading the books now, and bought Eclipse specifically to take on the plane to Phoenix next week!
We also got her hooked on True Blood and she got the first season for Christmas. She then proceeded to get my sister and I hooked on the Vampire Diaries. I felt like I was cheating on Twilight at first but it gives me something to tide me over until the Eclipse premiere! Check it out, Damon is yummy!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I am a TwiPusher and am glad to know I am not alone. I have bought countless (okay 7) copies of Twilight to give to friends in hopes they would get hooked. My oldest and dearest friend (that lives only 4 hours from Forks!) was holding out and finally I just told her that we couldn't be friends anymore unless she read the books (yep, i'm that mature). It worked and she fell hard. Now I have a friend to share my addiction with. Moral of the story: pushing works!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I don't try anymore. I got sick of people telling me that I was crazy for loving Edward and for calling me a "Twilight Mom" not in a good way. Buttholes don't deserve the crunchy sweet goodness of all of our Twilighty loves, I figure.
plus another thing...I don't like sharing the love IRL. I tried to turn my BFF on to it and she bit for a little while, but she was faking it. She and I went to get our Twilight dvds at midnight and that was fun, but hers was defective and she never replaced it! wtf? she took 5 little girls under the age of 10 to the new moon premiere. she wanted them to tag along with me and my daughter (16 and my Twilight-turner-on goddess). Um...no freaking way. No no no.
I don't know anyone IRL worthy enough to want to turn. so I share sometimes with my own delightful daughter, but hog it all to myself otherwise ;)

  22. i'm a pusher, big time! i've converted both of my sisters in law, my mother and my mother in law. so for christmas, both my mom and MIL got laptops as gifts. so what did i do? tell them about fanfic. so i'm folding laundry yesterday and realize that at that moment they are both probably reading twiporn that i turned them on to. creepy? yes. but also awesome, lol. i told both of them to forget when reading that they got that from me and to also forget i had read it. i texted my mom later and she wouldn't even respond other than to say "READING!".

    ReplyDelete
  23. oh yeah, and my husband! he's now a devoted twitard and actually admits it to people! he got mad at new moon cause the teen girls in front of us were being loud and talking. he told them to be quiet, lol. only problem is he's team jacob. i've informed him that is grounds for divorce. our 10th anniversary is the weekend eclipse comes out. can you guess what we'll be doing??

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'm always pushing the Twigoods. I've got an impressive list of converts including Facebook acquaintances, online friends, real life friends, other mums in the playground and now the ultimate - just bought my mum a copy for Xmas! Muahahahaaa!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm totally a pusher. I don't say anything until someone else mentions Twilight but after that you can't get me to shut up.

At my family xmas party last night I knew my fifteen year old cousin was totally into Twilight and I sat around really quietly waiting for her to say something about it so I could pounce but she never did so I was unable to spill my Twilight guts to someone...sad for me.

I'm a really bad pusher at work...the TwiHaters in the workplace are subjected to lots of my attempts to convert.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I love to convert, it is a challenge for me, but I have not had a chance to, yet. Oh, but they do not know what they are missing.

    ReplyDelete
  27. So many parts of this post that I relate to completely. I've only been able to convert one person - a forty-something year old. She was going to wait to start reading Eclipse until after the holidays and then she saw NM and changed her mind quickly. My friend (the one who got me hooked) and I have been trying to convince our friend, but now she's just being mean about it and out-and-out refuses. I told her she's like Jacob. She thinks it's a cult (which we are, actually) and she doesn't want to be "next". She just doesn't realize that there's no way out of it. Resistance is futile!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Farmville!! Farmville has become my new cover for fanfic. If I've been on the 'ville or Facebook in general at some point during the day, it doesn't look as suspicious after I delete my twipornerific browser history. The only downside to this is that it looks like I do nothing all day but hang out on Facebook. My husband is like, "So what, now instead of Twilight, you're just on Farmville all day?"

    Uh yeah, that's it.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Someone needs to compile a list of say 10-15 conversion techniques. I have converted a few using the Midnight Sun ploy after they saw Twilight the movie. MS is free, it's easily accessible, and it's not too long. BUT, I sometimes get overly excited when I see fresh pliable meat...you know, the strangled squeal in your throat and the fluttering butterfly feeling in the pit of your stomach- AND, I'm sure my pupils look like basketballs. So, maybe I scare some off. Does the dropping the book technique work? I would do that in a heart beat.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I've converted 3 people so far (plus one failure-to-convert) & keep saying I wish I could find a way to make money off of it, kinda like a pyramid-scheme. Although the fun that is had by all once there is a new convert is priceless IMHO.
Separate topic - I got a mini-Edward for xmas & mentioned that this awesome chick on Twitarded carries him around in her purse. The (non-Twifan) who bought it for me looked at me with a look of terror & said....."you're not going to DO THAT are you?". It was hard going back into the semi-twi-closet for xmas. Glad to be back...WITH mini-Edward.

    ReplyDelete
  31. still converting, but only the "right" people. I can usually spot out the ones who will collapse at Edward's feet pretty well ;)

    ReplyDelete
  32. I am a kind of subtle pusher of twilight. Got my dear sister hooked which thrilled me after she had been looking at me weird for my participation on this site and the factor Edward is so young ( yeah.,..and??)
I also introduced her and her co workers to fan fiction ( big brownie points for that).
I am an avid reader, if someone asks, I tell them and dare them to snicker.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I seriously find joy in converting people too. I actually created a twihard! The other two, well they just pretend and skip around in the books (we can tell, because they don't make sense) so we've refused to talk Twilight with them until they've come to their senses and read the books properly. LOL!

I actually also like turning people onto True Blood too because that is also severely underrated.

So I'm just a smut pusher in general.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I sadly have not converted anyone. I'm always up against die hard "Buffy" fans, who say Twilight is just a rip off and made by an angry "Buffy" fan. So they don't want anything to do with it. I myself have never seen "Buffy" (cannot stand SMG!), so I can't even tell them how it's different, but I will keep trying. I'm going for the "I will slowly break you down" approach. :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. @Track 10 - I was a HUGE Buffy fan and didn't even make the unrequited vampire love connection right away. Apples and oranges. (Pun intended:-) By the way, I read in several places that Stephenie had never even seen Buffy when she wrote the saga.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm a quiet, shy pusher, like a spy in the eaves. You see, it's just that I don't like people to shit on all things Twilight just because they've decided it's some cheesy crappy vampire romance for teens. It might make me angry too and I might want to bite them (beware of shy people). But if I can give a nice, friendly nudge... I definitely do. Sofar I've converted my husband (to the films only, he's the kind who never reads, even things he might like) and my 14 year old niece who loved the films but did not want to read the books. Or any book for that matter. Now she can't get enough and I've started her on LJ Smith's Vampire Diaries and Night World series. My mum's got a copy of the first Twi book but she hasn't touched it sofar - the same thing happened with Harry Potter, she never read them. I tried to make her watch the DVD with me but no way... I'm still working on it. It's so lovely when you find you can connect with someone fresh to the Twi world and talk for hours with them! I love it. But some people don't want to hear about it, ever, and I've accepted that.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I am definitely a shameless Twi-pusher. I have converted quite a few who tried to fight me on it for a while. Pretty much everyone knows I love it, but very few know how obsessed I truly am. Fanfiction has been where my Twi-pushing has been a total fail. I seriously thought my RL friends would be just as into it as I am, but alas, the ones I've tried to get to read it act like I'm just being silly. Anyway, that's why I love this community and Vitamin R especially who validates my fanfic obsession in person.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I finally listened to the last Twigasm podcast and you guys were awesome!! JJ, you sounded delightfully husky and only slightly Jersey.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I've tried to convert---And I've been succesful with a few but it's been tougher with others...

One friend who was satisfied in reading just the first book?
Yeah, huh? She had no desire to keep going.

Others who refuse to watch the movie til they've read the books. They've said that about a lot of books.

Others who say, "I don't do horror and vampire stuff." If they only knew about our peaceful, sparkly Cullens.

Others who I show pics of Rob to and they say, "yeah, I just don't see what you see in this guy." What???(One less person I have to shove out of the way if they were in between me and Rob, I suppose.)

Now I'm like the army triage (?)
I forget about the lost causes and pay attention to the ones who need the least fixing up---the ones already into Twilight and now I just push the good fanfic stuff on them!!!

    -Junie

  40. I believe it is my mission in life to spread the twilight gospel. I am a twi-evangalist. Only, I do it to random, totally inappropriate strangers. Case in point: Twilight premier, midnight showing. I was at Starbucks getting a shot (o’coffee, I am old and was worried about staying up past my bedtime). While I was waiting, I glanced over to my right and there was this super, tall, super thin, super pretty chick. I stared inappropriately then just started talking to her. I recognized her as one of our star volleyball players (college vball is HUGE in Nebraska). Meanwhile, my hubby is trying to hide and pretend he does not know me ‘cause he knows where this is going.

I start talking to said vball player, told her she kicks ass (cause she does) then it hit me: she is here because of NM. Then I noticed her shirt – Team Jasper??? You all know how rare Team Jaspers are so I had to ask her about that. Then, less than 2 minutes into the conversation, I bring up twiporn. To a college girl. She looked a bit mortified but I continued. I even wrote down several websites (including this one) on a napkin even though she didn’t ask me to. I explained to her she has not lived till she has read twiporn. Again, I must repeat, this is to a STRANGER, a college girl. Eeeks. I knew I was over the line, but like Rob, my mouth diarrhea just keeps going and going. I ended up running into this poor girl three more times that night. I think she thought I was stalking her.

I also post about Twilight so often on my facebook, I have converted 2 people from there. Yes!!!!!!!

Lastly, in the gym awhile back, I noticed a chick reading Twilight, the very first book. Gym etiquette states you don’t talk to people working out, you just look straight ahead and mind your own business. Not me. Within 3 minutes I had discussed the entire series AND twiporn. Again, with a stranger. And I don’t think she really wanted to hear it.

I use the name “K needs help” for a reason. Cause I really, really do.

  41. Maybe you can re-convert me. I'm losing it big time. I've even been reading other books! Eclipse better be fucking OUTSTANDING!

    ReplyDelete
  42. At the supermarket the other day checking out the girl bagging the groceries started talking about Twilight, etc. and the check out lady asked "what's that?" and we both said "It's a story about a girl and a vampire" in stereo. and the check out lady said "EWWWWW, isn't that like about Satan?" and I said no, actually it's more about SEX! The girl and I giggled and the check out lady, I'm sure, is now thinking I'm a satanist. What can you do about the super religious? Not sure and I don't actually give a shit!

  43. So far in 2009 I have half of the ladies in my office addicted. The rest will be cracked by the end of 2010!

BTW, do you guys have any other fanfic suggestions?

    ReplyDelete
  44. I've managed to convert several ladies in my office, some of who made fun of me and said nasty, terrible things about my Twilight love. I'm so glad that they finally saw the light!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I'm always afraid they won't like it (or won't like it enough) and then they'll really think I'm nuts ;)

    ReplyDelete
  46. Look here, this is "the" unconverted friend commenting and omfg - I am soooo busted. Look, I have no problem getting totally addicted to Twilight. I read the Harry Potter series in my 30s, until it started to suck so bad I could no longer stomach it (after book 4, imo - it was adorable up until then.) I am an unabashed teen fangirl at heart. I'm IN and I haven't even read the first Twilight yet. I am actually just lazy.

As for Farmville, consider me appropriately chastised! That game is so fucking lame and mindless, I am embarrassed to say I'm a little upset at the state of my crops these days, but anyway, if I'm going to waste time, and you know I am, no doubt it'd be better wasted on Twilight.

    BRING IT!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I don't think of myself as a converter but I have four:

Dangrmomma is almost done with Eclipse.

My trainer is ready to start Eclipse.

Wife of co-worker is also ready to start Eclipse.

The shocking one...my co-worker... a male... is done with all of them and LOVED it!

I don't actively seek anyone out but if it comes up I will gladly talk about it.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm not that much of a TwiPusher, I've only successfully converted 1 person this year.

My new years resolution is to convert my sister so I bought her the first book for Crimbo! I'm feeling quite confident about this second conversion (as she has already been perving over Cedric Diggory!)

    ReplyDelete
  49. I am so guilty...But I am not ashamed! There have been at least five in the past year.
One of my recent converts and I went to go see New Moon (again) and ever so quietly under our breaths repeated the phrase."17, 17, 17, he's only 17". Love you too RPatts!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I've tried to convert several people, but have had no luck until a few days ago. A week after the Twilight DVD came out earlier this year, I gave it to my mom to watch (she's 61). She fell asleep during it and said it was really slow. I was heartbroken. Ever since then she's mentioned that she should really watch it again. Well, last week she finally watched it again and called me right after she finished it. She was so excited and said, "I finally get it!" (She understands my obsession.) Then she asked about the other books...How many are there? Does Bella become a vampire? Are Edward and Bella a couple in real life? (She's seen the magazine covers with RPattz and KStew.) So, I gave her New Moon and she started reading it right away! I'm so proud.

    ReplyDelete
  51. mmMoxie- I just re-read New Moon so I bitch some more about what they left out and then quickly got my as sucked back into the series (day 5 with little sleep). My sister and I often tried to remember what the heck exactly happened in Eclipse, and just as I said to her the other day after finishing Eclipse: FUCKING EVERYTHING HAPPENS! It's messy.

You will not be disappointed. At. All.

  52. @Myg - It's ON! Don't be afraid of the anonymous, cheerfully-wrapped present that will soon make its way to your doorstep...

And if it makes you feel any better, JJ is afraid to go back to her farm because she's neglected it and is afraid it will be filled with blackened crops and corpses (um, ok that probably won't make you feel "better" now that i think about it, but maybe it will be some small comfort to know you are in good company???).

  55. @katie - i am heartened by your success with your mom! i have kind of given up on turning my own mom on to twilight, but maybe i'll give it another try... i was semi-persistent with trying to get her to read the book (gave it to her as a gift) but she doesn't know about the blog and i wouldn't tell her unless she had read the book (does that make me a bad daughter? gah!).

  56. I love getting people into Twilight too. My husband, with no urging from me, got his mom the full hardcover twilight saga set for Christmas. Who would have guessed?

  58. I'm not that much of a TwiPusher, I've only successfully converted 1 person this year.

My new years resolution is to convert my sister so I bought her the first book for Crimbo! I'm feeling quite confident about this second conversion (as she has already been perving over Cedric Diggory!)
