Twilight: Are You...[GASP!]...Over It?

[Spoiler-free unless you think my sister's not-very-flattering one-sentence description of what she thinks of Eclipseward would ruin the whole thing for you. In which case, wow...]

Do you really wish you could quit me? REALLY???

It's that time where we still have about a month to wait until the premiere of Eclipse--you know, the red-carpet one on the West Coast that we won't be attending? Unless Billy Burke comes through for us?--and there's not a whole hell of a lot going on in the Twidom. Sure, sure - there are some new pics here and there - RPatts spends one day on-set filming Water for Elephants! - KStew goes to a concert somewhere in Ohio! - RPatts buys some really expensive guitars and makes Mr. Snarky jealous! - but for the most part, the next few weeks are looking a little dry, Twi-fodder-wise. And let's face it: this is a loooooong time to obsess about something. Anything. I don't think I had an obsession that lasted this long years back when it was more socially acceptable to want to cover my bedroom walls with movie posters and torn-out pages from magazines.

But here I am.

The other day, I bought tickets for Eclipse. Without really thinking about it, I bought one for Sister Snarky. She devoured the books (once I finally got her to read them...) and came with us last November when we went to see the first showing of New Moon. It was a given - to me - that she would be on board for Eclipse. So imagine my surprise when I get this email from her after I emailed her and told her I'd bought a bunch of tickets and we would sort out the specifics later:

Ohhhh sorry - don't freak out but I am kinda over it. I saw a preview this morning and I just can't believe how unattractive they have made Edward. It looks like someone peed on his head and it destroyed his hair and got in his eyes. It bums me out....

What-what-whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?!?

OK, fine, I admit it: I have been a little less filled with "SQUEEEEEE!!!" this time 'round too... Last year when I bought our tickets to the New Moon premiere - the regular-ol'-local-theater tickets that we didn't even end up using because we came up with a better plan - I was so fucking excited that I remember practically hyperventilating as I clicked on "Buy Tickets" at Fandango (it was definitely a shaky-hand moment). I was so hopped up that I bought tickets at the wrong theater, for cryin' out loud! It was all I could do to pull myself together and get back to work and not drive over at that very moment to pick them up because I had a burning need to hold them in my hands (I restrained myself, but barely). This time? Meh - broke out the credit card, plunked down some money, got back to work. I choose to blame the grind that is my job rather than lack of Twi-enthusiasm, but still...

Jenny Jerkface also mentioned that she's not getting the "holy fuck it's almost here!!!" jitters from Eclipse, even though she thinks it's going to be better than New Moon and is crossing her tiny little fingers that they won't make Alice look like a fucking Little Lord Fauntleroy-y idiot. For a change. Thankfully she's kept her heretic thoughts to herself for the most part and I haven't had to seriously consider revoking her bloggy admin rights.

In the last eighteen months or so, we've seen a Twilight blog or two go by the wayside... And sometimes people need to be...re-enchanted. Or re-Twilighted. Or rehabRobitated.... I'm sure mmMoxie (of Twilight SagaPalooza fame & notoriety) isn't going to be snubbing Eclipse entirely, but based on the comment she recently left on our "Eclipse: To Reread or Not to Reread" post, she's not totally feeling the "SQUEEEEE!!!" right now...
mmMoxie said...

I gotta be honest.....I'm over it. I will see Eclipse but I'm not giddy about it and I'm not going to re-read the book. I have other books to read. Yes. I said it. There are OTHER books to read. I never thought I'd be able to admit that. I feel better now :)

And Twilight Junkie jumped in with the "oh no you diiih-in't!"

Oh, and @ Mmmmoxie...WTF??? I think you need an intervention - we need to knock you off the wagon.

Oh yeah, she's definitely in need of a reverse-intervention - we gotta push her off that non-Twilighty wagon for sure! Sorry, Mox, but we can't let you go without a fight... We just love you too much!

So are you "over it"? Well, you're here, so you must not be entirely over it unless you just enjoy us rambling on and on and on about Twilight despite yourself...

All I can say is that while I'd looooooove some new photos to drool over, and for it to be puh-LEASE be late June already, I'm not over it. So. Not. Over. It.

[clicky pics to enlarge for maximum Robward gooooodness!]

Nope...

not...

over...

it.

AT ALL.

Are you???

P.S. That third-to-last pic is AWESOME even though it's an amber-eyed manip AND it looks like Robert Pattinson's eyebrows are about to eat his face. I don't care - someone needs to pay for not making Eclipse Edward look exactly like that (but after an eyebrow threading or a good pluckin').

  2. I am not over it at all. My favorite thing about all this is that it has lead to alot of other great things in my life. Great new friends. Awesome new books to read (that may or may not become Rob movies LOL). New music to listen to and new movies to watch. I am very excited to see Eclipse of course part of that may also be that I will get to meet Mrs. P and Living with Edward!!! Woo Hoo!

btw, yeah the amber eyed manip is pretty nice, but it was the bellybutton happytrail cropped pic that got right click licked to my Rob Porn folder.

  4. I am soo not over it. It's going on 2 years for me now. I still sometimes get the feelings I did when I first started, maybe not AS strong but they're still there. I've read other books in the last two years and I've taken small breaks and I think that helped me to keep my love affair going. I've now dragged my husband into it and my daughter (though she hasn't read the books, she's only 6)so it's not going to be over anytime soon in my life. I am extremely excited for Eclipse, I've got my tickets and I'm getting a bunch of people to go. I think that for those who are "over it" maybe just need to take a small break, come back, read the books again (I did after a year of not reading them and OMG it revamped me to be in love with them again lol) Oh and who can be over Rob, OMG that's just wrong lol I don't think I will be over it, maybe not for a long while until after BD is out.

However, this would be a good time for SM to now finish writing MS, she said when it all died down a bit she would continue to write it lol Hmm we can always wish huh.

  5. So, not, over it either!! Keep on, on the twilight bandwagon!! I'll always be onboard!!!! U guys rock!!!

  6. Nope, not over it. I might not be getting quite the same amount of giddy SQUEEEEEEE-ness in my tummy that I did for New Moon but I'm still definitely not over it. Looove that last pic...yum.

LMAO at "it looks like his eyebrows are about to eat his face." Mine would totally look like that if I didn't pluck them...

  7. not over it at all! I'm making a 7 hour trip to Seattle to see it in IMAX and have been counting down for mmmm....since NM!

  8. over it? fuck that! quitting is for pussies! ;)

  9. I'm not as enthused but definitely NOT over it as my Eclipse convention ticket, my premiere tent/sleeping bag, and my midnight showing ticket can testify. Oh not to mention I'm going to see 100 Monkeys on Fri.

However, I haven't read the books in about a year.. Too busy reading Twismut... err fan fiction. THAT'S what keeps me cLICKing and saving my Robward porn.

Though I think I just found a new obsession... It called The Hunger Games. Srsly, you gotta read it.

  10. I am FAR from over it! This go round I had the crazy shakes when buying my tickets that I bought the wrong ones! I bought the regular and not the IMAX, I could have died! Then I had to get my happy ass the that theater pronto so I would have the tickets safely stashed away. I am going to start reading Eclipse very soon. So to sum it up...Nope not over it at all!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Ok everyone's enthusiasm (especially yours, Simple Complexity - nothing like a few good "OMG!!!"s to get me going!!) is contagious - i feel a little more "SQUEEE!!!" coming on!

  12. ABSOLUTELY not over it.

I'm approaching my first twiversary and am still thoroughly wrapped up in twitardia. With no signs of it slowing down anytime soon! I must say though that now that I'm the queen of fan fic (recs please! Am distraught about MotU and need to feed my addiction...) I do occasionally find it tricky to separate original E&B from their many doppelgangers, hence, it's time to re-read, people!

I am not embarrased to say I haven't read a non-twi book in at least six months and I've no intention of stopping now...

Love as always to all my twitards out there xxx

    ReplyDelete
  13. oh and @myg - you JUST got started!! you haven't even read the books twice, for fuck's sake! you are not allowed to be over it - at ALL! lol...

So. Not. Over. It. But I have been reveling in this obsession for only about 8 months.

I was actually thinking today about digging out Eclipse to re-read before the movie. I am still in a mental pickle about that one- do I re-read it and possibly fuck up my movie going experience?? Or do I just get into the book and try not to stab anyone in the theater if they fuck up the movie too bad? Oh my, the quandries I have...

I sent an email to my twi-partner-in-crime today with a countdown to Eclipse. Insert 13 year old, making everyone deaf girly scream right here.

My inner teenage girl is alive and well and really excited. SQUEEEEE!

  16. I actually have that last pic posted on my work cube and the VF issue neatly tucked in the left hand drawer. Guess that answers your question. :)

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hmmm...I think my Twilight enthusiam has wavered a bit. But I think it's partially to blame on New Moon. I was sooo excited to see the movie and I was kinda disappointed. I think I am a little less excited for Eclipse because of the potential letdown.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I don't like the term "over it". It sounds like getting over a sickness or something. But I'm totally not over it. I'm more excited to see Eclipse than I was New Moon. I love the book a lot more and the previews are looking awesome. And I'm psyched to go with Dangrdafne and Mrs. P! We got our tickets all ordered and I can't wait. SQUEEEEE! It's going to be so fun!

And I totally love that amber eyed Edward manip. That is georgous. He almost looks believable as a highschool student there too.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Fuck no, I'm not over it. But it's different now, I'm probably more excited for Foooorrkkkks! than I am for Eclipse! I blame that on the eclipse virginity thing.

But I'm feeling nostalgic now, I think I need to do some non-ffn reading this weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Here's the thing ladies...I've always liked the whole twilighty thing, but it wasn't until I started hanging out with all you crazy fuck twats that the true obsession began...thank you very much! It's like mob mentality around here...and I LOVE it btw!!

I have met AMAZING people, laughed my ass off on a regular basis, have a list of FF to read that should last me through at least next year, am planning to schlep myself across the damned continent for one Epic weekend in FFFOOOOORRRRKKKSSS!!!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm still in it to win it!

@STY - I was JUST thinking the other day that I can't remember EVER obsessing over anything or anyone like Robward. I mean there was a passing phase with Duran Duran when I was a pre-teen, but it was NOTHING like this!!

@SharonMacross LOVE the Hungergames. Luxie, Jacksonstat & I were just talking about it a few days ago!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hey I am absolutely new here!!! Just found your blog a few weeks ago, I must say I haven't bought my 12.01 tickets for Eclipse, I did this for New Moon the day they came on sale. This is mainly because I don't have anyone to go with. Though I absolutely can't wait!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. As always, you all are reading my mind. Several hours ago, I was at the gocery store, for yet another trip for one of the males in my household, and PEOPLE magazine practically jumped off the rack. The gorgeous threesome are featured, and SHIT do they look good, even KS, who usually looks, well, weird to me.

The object of our obsession still has the just-fucked hair, and the cover of the mag is SWEET!

I havn't re-read in weeks, mainly because FF has eclipsed SMs writing for me. Still - it is my anniversary on 6/30 - and JJ and I have a date-now that is scary!

  24. I am no where near over Twilight or anything Twirelated. Let me just say I know you dont want to hear me blather on about already seeing Eclipse but I NEED to let you know I already have my ticket for opening night and for f*cks sake IMAX that Saturday. You read that right. I already have two tickets burning holes in my grubby little mitts. LOL

No one... Let me repeat NO ONE should be over it yet. Sure it might not be as squee tastic as before but lets get hyped up for some Eclipse. Rob, Kellan, Jackson, Peter, Taylor... hot men/hot wolves kicking some bootay. You just cant be over this.. not just yet!!!

I'm thinking about going into Twilight motivational speaking.. any takers?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Eclipse is my favorite book in the saga, so I cannot wait to see it. I will be sad when the movies finally come to an end. I am sure it will be like someone died. But I have been able to stop rereading the books long enough to read Bel-Ami, Water for Elephants and, most recently, MotU (thank you very much, STY, Dangrdafne, and TwilightCupcake for that push/shove into the world of Fifty!). So as much as I love Twilight and what it has brought to my life via this community, I am excited about the future of Rob's career.

  26. @myg- LOL! What I really wanna know is, is it hump-day yet? Osa Bella, anyone? Hello... don't leave me hangin'!

Okay, back on topic. Maybe we need to have a twi-intervention. With LS Edward leading the group. JJ, STY AND LKW can show some tough love through the form of Twi-porn and continuous subliminal photo's from Vanity Fair and Details.

I do agree in the sense that they've made Edward look like he's sporting pancake makeup from the silent film days, (I long for Twilight Edward, minus the pussy peacoat) but that's no reason to get bored so quickly. Maybe these girls have caught Beiber fever? *gagging* That would just be tragic and sad.

  27. I had a time...right after New Moon came out and we were going thru a bad Rob drought...where for half a nanosecond I was scared I might be over it. But of course the Rob drought ended, I watched some of Biels Rob vids, I realized Eclipse wasn't going to suck, I remembered there was a 4th book to make a movie after...I got more Robsten proof..and began re-reading Eclipse...

Sooooooo NOT OVER IT. In fact I have started reading 4 non-twi books, but couldn't finish them because I kept cheating on them w/ Eclipse. I may read WFE though, now that I can picture Jacob as Rob.

  28. Hey Bluie92-- welcome! Don't know where in the world you are..but if you are on Long Island, you can come with this Twitard!

    ReplyDelete
  29. It's been a little over a year since I'd discovered the books, fell in love with Edward, and got sucked into fanfiction, and there's just no way I'm ever going to get over this... I seriously cannot (and really don't want to) imagine my life from this point on without the influences of Twilight being a part of it.

I'll admit I'm not as enthused over the Eclipse movie as I was over New Moon, but I think that's because I really didn't like Eclipse the book... well, I specifically didn't care for the turn Bella's character took. As far as excitement in the fandom, on my end - what with going back to school and work - I've been more of a lurker than anything else, and haven't been as active on forums and catching up on blogs as I'd like. Still, I can't go anywhere without Twilight or New Moon in my purse, and more often than not, instead of working on assignments for the value of personal development *snort, I'm reading fanfic. ;)

Still a Twitard, and utterly proud of it.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm never over it, but to be honest. I do feel only .00000000001% less excited as the last time. I think it has to do with the fact that they haven't given us a TON of stuff leading up to it like they did with NM....just my thoughts

    ReplyDelete
  31. Not squeeeee! excited but still looking forward to Eclipse. I tend to get into that groove when it's closer to the event (and when there are the inevitable Rob interviews on every fucking talk show in the universe). That's okay. Maybe he'll wear that grey suit again - the shiny one that's just a liiiiitttttle tight? I can only hope...

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'm more into fanfic these days, and haven't re-read Twilight or the rest of the series for months. I'm still planning to see Eclipse despite the absolutely terrible trailer they showed on Oprah, but my expectations aren't very high. I no longer click on every Rob or Kristen link that comes up on Twitter, so I guess you could say I'm not over it yet, but I'm getting there.

  35. I am definitely not over it. In fact, i feel more obsessed than ever, even though it's been only 9 months since I read the books. Perhaps the key is in coming slowly out of the closet, because that's what I've been doing. Besides, there's more to this obsession thing than just the love for the books - it's this community. Each day I get something new out of the whole experience, and as long as this keeps happening, I doubt I'm going to be over it.

Like I said a million times already, I'm planning on starting a re-read, and I'll let you know whether that has affected the obsession in any way.

    ReplyDelete
  36. So.not.over.it! For fuck's sake I JUST got my first mini E. (Thanks, Twilove1-love you!) FINALLY got the opportunity to try out a little set stalking, and looking forward to perfecting those skillz. In a few short weeks I will be CAMPING out like a hobo in the eclipse premiere line. I've never done anything like this before so I have plenty of "squee" left and awesome cohorts to get into trouble with. Oh I almost forgot the big convention in LA where we are guaranteed an audience with the big three. I don't think I will be too sad when the saga is over because i have successfully transferred my obsession over to Rob and his career. Twilight or not he will always be the precious, and soon I will be breathing the air of the precious (sigh). The
    thought ironically leaves me breathless.
Yep. Plenty of goodness ahead to sustain me.

  37. No way no how am I over it. It is just too pleasant a mental place to tarry when RL goes crazy. Give me quality time with Robward any day.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Not over it, no how, no way.

I have been all over it since Dec. 2007. While I finally stopped obsessively re-reading the books about 10 months ago, that obsession just got funneled into fanfic.

I agree I am not quite as excited to see Eclipse as I was New Moon but I think that is because I know it will at least be a decent movie...I was so worried after Twilight what was going to happen....and it was a longer wait too.

Admittedly, I sometimes feel like my Rob obsession takes over. My Twi-obsession may die down someday but it is so comforting to know that Rob will be forever "it" for me. Unless he does something really dumb like PeeWee in the movie theater...meh I don't even think I would care about that...it might even turn me on a little bit...hahahaha! I am ruined...FOREVER!

    ReplyDelete
  39. As my partner in crime Sidewalk Candy aka FKat aka Twifixx aka whatever-the-hell-other-name-she-comes-up-with-next so eloquently said.... SO.NOT.OVER.IT!!!! I don't think I'll EVER get over my Twiobsession that's really a Rob obsession!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I love these posts! It's been on my mind a lot of late, the whole "over it" thing. Seems to be a plague running amok around Twi-universe.

I am with the still excited group and a tad more than when I first read Twilight (nearly 2 years ago now) and I think that has a lot to do with all the lovely ladies and Twi-blogs I've found online. Y'all keep me coming back for more. Oh annnnd the jaw porn. Sweet baby Jesus, that jaw-tongue-hand porn does things to me...

    ReplyDelete
  41. OK- longest time lurker, but finally must comment on this one as it created that line the Queen uses with clenched teeth "shocked and appauled!" Each film is another opportunity to do all of this that is Twitardia whenever RL allows. And we get 4 or 5? Spoiled much?? Let me count the reasons for avoiding the "over it" crap. First the sappy: Consider the amazing people on this blog alone from all over the world with so much in common. We save one another every day-I know I can count on it. All of the unknowing Mr's alone is choice. Second, the extradinary wit: the incredibly snarky, intelligent and crazy humor would be enough, but there's the music, and the fanfic. Third, The Precious. His career will be amazing, and we get to sit back and enjoy the view!? Nuff said. Get off your collective ass and get ready for Eclipse!! Well?--No more waffling!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'm completely NOT OVER IT!! My Visa will attest to that fact as well..since it cries every time I go on ebay. I'm very excited to see Eclipse on the big screen, though I'm still a bit worried that they may have screwed it up. Anytime I see a new clip or picture I click on it so fast my mouse has whiplash. I've already pre ordered the soundtrack, but it's pissing me off that the movie companion is coming out so late this time. With Twilight I had my movie tickets a month in advance, with New Moon I had them a month and a half in advance. Whats pissing me off the most right now is that tickets have STILL NOT gone on sale here in Canada!! W.T.F!!! Every fricking day I check with no luck..and I've heard a rumor that they may not go onsale here till June 18th..once again I say W.T.F??! I think once I get my tickets in my greedy little hands I will be much happier.

And, really? Over it? I say...hell-to-the-NO I'm not over it. I figure I've got about 2 years worth (post BD DVD release) to be on this wild, crazy, fuckawesome ride & I don't plan to get off (well, ok, maybe I do - giggle snort) until someone knocks me off.

  44. Oops, I was so excited about being quoted that I forgot to mention this....I am currently reading my first non-vampire related book since July, The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown, but my spot is being held by my Edward bookmark. AND I read some fanfiction and some Eclipse every day. Love it HARD & I think I will be totally depressed when it's over.

  45. Not fucking over it.

I honestly never thought it would last this long but it has and there's no foreseeable end in sight.

    So not over it.

  46. over it? are you joking? I'm just getting started. I'm making up for lost time since I only discovered Twilight last fall.

I am uber-excited for Eclipse because it's my favorite of the books (actually Midnight Sun is, but I digress...) I can't wait to stand in line for hours just to see the first showing, I am looking forward to being surrounded by girls and women who, instead of making me feel like a crazy ROBsessed lunatic, make me feel at home and maybe even like the "normal" one!

And if I'm being honest, I don't want to "get over it". I'm having way too much fun!

  48. Not over it! I think I need to break open the Saga again for my summer reading....and no matter how many times I watch it, I still get chills when I see Edward walk across that cafeteria in Twilight, like I did for the first time...

Plus, I am a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom...I really needed a hobby and my Twi-Obssession fills that :) I am thrilled to have found this online community of lovelies that also share my passion!

  49. So this is my first time commenting here but I have been lurking for a couple of months. I hate to admit it but I just watched Twilight for the first time in March (yes 3 months ago) and I hated it. I thought something was wrong with me since everyone I know loved it so I read the books and did some internet research. Which is how I found Twitarded and now I am an Twi-addict.
Its actually funny because my husband doesnt like the movie at all but he loves that my addiction makes me so happy. He doesn't know the specifics about what is talked about on here, thank God, but if I'm grumpy when I get home he knows its because I wasn't able to read the blog and he is turning on the computer so I can get my fix. I love my inabler.
So to answer your question...SO NOT OVER IT.

    ReplyDelete
  50. SOoo NOT over it. I am incredibly distraught that I will be missing the premiere on June 30th due to a vacation. I won't be able to see Eclipse til [gasp] mid-July [sob]. I will just have to make due with taking my Mini-Es along with me... I do have to say that while I am NOT over Twilight, I have been slacking in my obsessive ways lately due to buying a house, finishing up my second semester of grad school, and general RL bullshit gettin in the way. BUT, Twitarded is one of the first things I look at everyday when I turn my computer on : ) You ladies rock!! XoXo

    ReplyDelete
  51. Yeeaaaahh, I just (finally) bought a MiniE yesterday so I'm no where close to being over it/him. And I have been squeeeee-ing every time I see the trailer on TV (and occasioanlly rewinding the DVR to watch them again, dang that thing comes in handy).

I have my ticket and am ready, ready, ready for more Twlighty goodness! Bring on Robward!! Oh and all those other people too :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. so. completely. not. over. it. It is my best friend and we drink together and it understands me. I don't have to explain myself or come up with witty things to say to it. It sits in my chest and squeezes my heart. It boosts my serotonin levels and makes me a happy girl. which in turn makes the hubby a happy boy even if he doesn't know why and never ever will. Sure I go back and forth from Rob to Jackson to Kellan to Taylor (ducks- hey no throwing stuff you guys always have Rob occupied) to the whole wolf pack at once and then back to the Cullen men. I am an unrestrained Twilight hoe bag. I poke around in the dark corners and hold a candle so I can see every little nuance. I push it out into the sunlight of my own private meadow and watch it sparkle. I like it. I love it. I want some more of it. I still have approximately 1 good and I mean GOOOOOOOOOD twilight related dream a week. Last week I almost cussed out the lady at my kids' school because she called and woke me up just before wolf pack caught me......sigh.....bitch.

I am starving a bit at the moment which only serves to prove that I am not anywhere close to being over it. Just saying.

  53. I have to agree with quite a few of you in that I'm not "over it" because of the community. I truly hope we manage to keep this going when the Twilight saga has long since passed.

@Forker - LOL! You came out of lurk-dom with guns blazing and your cock flapping in the wind!! I fucking love it!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I wouldn't say I'm over it...but I'm no where near as excited about it as I was a few months ago. I haven't been checking the Rob and Twilight blogs I follow nearly as much...BUT- I still visit--just not 20 times a day! I think my Twilight obsession has turned into a ROBsession....it's less about Twilight and more about Rob.

    ReplyDelete
  55. QUESTION for you ladies- I was watching NM a few weeks ago when it dawned on me: we never find out what Esme was giving Bella at the birthday party!!! She says something along the lines of--you've been looking a little pale lately....then Bella goes to open the small box, she cuts her finger on the wrapping paper, then drops the box and we never find out what it was!!!!! Did I totally miss this or do you ladies know what it was?

Guess I am still obsessed if this is what I'm asking about!! HA!

Let me know if you you--it's been driving me nuts! Thanks Ladies!

    ReplyDelete
  56. No Never, not even close. People being "over it" makes me kinda sad.

    ReplyDelete
  57. so NOT over it. I have my tickets and I'm doing the countdown dance

    ReplyDelete
  58. @Fantasizing_about_Rob - same thing as in the book - airplane tickets to Florida ("a little pale" - get it?? - lol).

I'm totally not over it either but I NEED SOME NEW ROB PORN!!! and Eclipse to be here now now NOW. That'll do me.

    : )

OK who's ready to start mmMoxie's Twihabilitation??? and where IS she?! Helllllooooooooo???

    ReplyDelete
  59. and btw @Myg looooove your new Avi - natch! although at that size it looks like a bear wearing a funny hat. : )

    ReplyDelete
  60. @ Snarkier Than You---Wow, I am actually embarrassed that I asked that question!!! WTF is wrong with me? I totally knew that. Something about the box being so small threw me. I haven't read the book in a while too....OOPS! Thanks for answering my question though!

    ReplyDelete
  61. FantasizingAboutRob: it's tickets for Bella and Edward to go visit Renee in Jacksonville. Geesh woman! You haven't read the books??

I'm not over it because PrettyCleverHausFrau and I just got into it in December. This is our first Twilight movie in the theater experience. We've been volleying all Twi/Rob shit back and forth through iChat & facebook like a couple of teenagers. Not to mention: the news that Peter Murphy is playing The Cold One made our OG Goth's hearts and vaginas SQUUUUUUEEEEEE like nothing else!

Also, this release is epic because June 29th is my birthday -- and we are making it a major fuckin' event. It's the 20th anniversary of my 16th birthday! Hells yeah!

Oh and ladies: AMC theaterS are having a "Twilight Experience" starting June 29th and showing all three films! Check it out!

    ReplyDelete
  62. @ Snarky...I'm in for the intervention. LET'S DO THIS!!

    ReplyDelete
  63. @STY - I love it when you push the right button on a blog post and get such awesome follow-up comments. And HELL YES I'm ready to start Mox's Twihabilitation. She'll be kicking and screaming when we drag her away from videos of The Cold One that she's currently wrapped up in, but she's worth saving ;) As an honorary member of the Saga Mafia, I will check in at headquarters and see what I can find out.

@IamJane - Absolutely loved your comment!!!

  64. @K.C.'s Momilosophies

Yes, I have read the books....and watched the movies over and over...I know I know, I should hang my head in shame for asking that most ridiculous question! I literally don't know what I was thinking. I'll go sit in the corner with a dunce cap now! HAHA!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Fantasizing_about_Rob - lol! i almost said "boy are you gonna feel silly when i answer this because I know that YOU know the answer but didn't think about it at that moment... and really, what kind of box was that for plane tickets? what, did esme print out the boarding passes, fold up the paper, and put it into the box?? makes no sense... : )

@17foreverlisa - yes, yes i do LOVE when a post works and people have a lot to say - still totally makes my day to see all these comments!

@Twilight Junkie - well you'd BETTER be on board - it was your suggestion - lol! i just...highlighted your good idea.

so what should we start with? an eight-hour twi-reading-and-movie session?? should someone make a scrapbook to send her? maybe a zip drive of their smexiest robward porn??? hmmm... the possibilities are endless...

    ReplyDelete
  66. @ Snarkier Than You-

HA! Thank you for seeing it from my point of view! That box WAS too f-ing small for the plane tickets and boarding passes and although I knew the answer--it slipped my mind! Stupid box!!! HAHAH! Still feeling like I need a dunce cap though!

    ReplyDelete
  67. So I think we should also make sure that we ply mmMoxie with lots of cherry-vodka-with-diet-cherry-coke cocktails - it'll soften her up a little... : )

    ReplyDelete
  68. *LALALALALALALA* I can't hear you with your "over it" song because I'm over here singing my "HOLY SHIT I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S ALMOST A MONTH TIL THE MOVIE!!! SQEEEEE!!!" song, and let's not forget the B-side; "HOLY FUCKING SHIT 126 DAYS UNTIL FOOOOORRRRRKKKKSSS!!!!! START BUYING LIQUOR IN BULK!!!" (PS, can we get a new counter widget for that? Cuz I want to stare at that countdown, too)

I think all a y'all faders need to walk away for a couple weeks, do NOTHING Twi-related, then come back when there are less than 15 days until Eclipse comes out. Because we'll be squeeing like 12 year olds, you'll be wondering what's going on in the Twidom, and you'll have to catch up with your fanfics, anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Never. Say. Die.

Like Rob said on Oprah, "We just like doing Twilight related things." Yep,soooo not over it. Love Twilight and everything that spawns from it.

    ReplyDelete
  70. No, so not over it yet. Am I able to go on with my life, read other books, do things not Twilight-related, etc., etc.? Yes, but I easily get swept back into all the madness. All I have to do is re-watch (for, I believe the 20th time) the Eclipse trailer and I'm on the verge of pissing myself from excitement. We still have over a month to go, so I'm trying to stay calm because there's still a bit of a wait. HERE'S THE REAL QUESTION: CONSIDERING THE TIME BETWEEN ECLIPSE & BREAKING DAWN, HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE OVER IT BY THEN, IF THEY'RE AREADY OVER IT BEFORE ECLIPSE EVEN COMES OUT?

    ReplyDelete
  71. @ STY - do you think we will have the chance to do the group watching of New Moon before Eclipse comes out? Just wondering :)

    ReplyDelete
  72. So not over it! Especially after just going to twi-tour Vancouver! I'm hyped for Eclipse, but worried over the soggy hair pics.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Holy Shit! I'm offline for one day and look what I missed.

I guess I have a little 'splainin to do.

These days, whenever I watch Twilight, I fall asleep. I don't know why. It's like a lullaby. It's comforting.

New Moon is a different story. I don't watch NM much. I blame NM for my dwindling interest in the series. New Moon was a steaming turd dumped on my Twilight world that stunk up the place and no matter how much Fabreeze I spray....it still stinks. Eclipse can redeem the franchise but I don't have high expectations.

K....I have a ton more to say but I'ts 8:30 am and I can't process very much before noon. (not a morning person)

I'll read the comments after 4 more diet cokes LOL

  74. @Mox - Thanks for answering the door at Saga Mafia headquarters when I knocked. Mwah!!

  75. I don't know that I'll ever get over Twilight completely... it changes you, you know? Like all great love affairs, this one began with surface fireworks - butterflies, squees, heart palpitations, decreased productivity IRL - that have melted into a warm, comfortable glow deep inside the heart (and a few reawakened, white-hot embers that will never cool again!). I have a deeper appreciation for Twilight than I did in the beginning, and I'll never be over it completely!

    ReplyDelete
  76. @mmMoxie - finally!! been waitin' for you... thanks for helpin' me get the wheels in motion for this post - you and my sis, anyway - I don't want anyone to be over it! : )

come back to chat later when you are awake & stuff...

@My After Car Is An XKR - well said!

  77. Not even considering ever being over it! Saw the Eclipse People issue w/ Rob on the cover earlier this week...SQQEEE'd quietly as I picked it up -started raving as my 12 yr old son tried to ack like he wasn't related to me..handed it to the cashier and said "careful with the precious please". I then got home, called my twi bestie told her I had a present for her raced over to her house and ogled and fondled the pages to the best of our ability while drinking pineapple smirnoff. We then spent the wee hours of the morning drunk googling as much robporn as we could while listening to "Bobby Dupea" in the background. We're totally trying to score tix to 100 monkeys, or figure out how to lure the band here to play.. I am also currently in the process of turning my sunporch into a twi porch. Since Mr.Curse wont allow my rob posters in the bedroom he said I could use the front porch. I could use some help tho, should I paint the walls Edward eyes amber or Rob Eyes green....a hard decision Help!

  78. Sorry, I think I'm a bit over the Twilight thing - I'm still very fond of it, but I want to go for new things now. But I'm not over Rob, and I'll never be - it's just starting. Before you kill me, let me explain: I'm still waiting eagerly for Eclipse. But I'm also still praying that they will cancel BD. But since I saw Remember Me, I'm far more interested in Rob's Bel Ami and WFE and in Kristen's On the Road and her other films. I can't wait to see Rob and Kristen in something else than the Twi franchise. So, I'm still very, very fond of Twiligh, but I'm not not crazily in love with it any more. Blame it on New Moon? I've got the DVD and I hardly watch it at all.

    ReplyDelete
  79. ummm, I'll say no, I am not over it. I just pre-called in sick *cough, cough* to leave early on June 29th from work and purchased tickets to see the triple show that starts at 6:30PM on a Tuesday. so no, my ass is still in this for the long haul. and it will be sitting in a theater for 6+ hours for the premiere. gawd, by the time the last film comes out I'll be at the theater for 10ish hours?

    ReplyDelete
  80. "over it" ?
    Oh HALE NAH!

I am sooo amped for Eclipse(my fave in the saga). I think Eclipse might just rejuvenate the fandom after the blah that was New Moon. @Mox: I feel ya on the New Moon front. Sure maybe it was a better movie (cinematically speaking) and maybe it had a lil' more aesthetic appeal. But I dunno, it just didn't get under my skin like Twilight did. I haven't even watched my New Moon dvd yet! I know! Bad fan! Bad fan! Oh and I think you suffer from the same Twi-narcoleptic fits as my bf! lol

There are so many things this fandom has to offer: Awesome, funny as hell/clever Twi blogs, cool ass peeps who are obsessed like me that make me bust a gut on a daily basis, and Robporn Robporn Robporn... did I mention Robporn?!

I don't think I've ever been this fanatical about anything. I mean when I was in the 5th grad my walls were draped with pics of Leo Dicaprio... but that adolescent 'obsession' surely pales in comparison to my adult Twi/Rob obsession... yeah definitely.

P.S. STY, I thank you and my computer thanks you for the last two Rob pics especially. Yummay!

    ReplyDelete
  81. No, not over it. If New Moon the (Hugely Disappointing) Movie didn't kill it, I guess nothing will. Besides, every time I find my admittedly gerbil-sized attention wandering, I look at a pic of Rob, and...WHOA! There it is again! Rob Pattinson is the Centre of the Known Universe as far as I'm concerned.

    ReplyDelete
  82. While I think its almost impossible to be over Rob, I am a mostly over the books. I was in a continuous cycle rereading them for almost a year! I wouldn't even travel without the books for crying out loud.

Then Bella started to annoy me, then Jake and before Edward could annoy me I decided to stop. I even bought the graphic novel when it first came out and have not read it.

I love the movies though and I am pretty excited for Eclipse. Can't wait!

    ReplyDelete
  83. My obsession is not quite so fanatical these days - I overdid it with the build up to New Moon and have been deliberately trying NOT to get so crazy - which has been easier since there hasn't been the HUGE flood of promo this time.

And truly, for me the obsession has been more fascination with the obsession rather than the obsession itself - does that make sense? To me that is key to the awesomeness of Twitardia - we can share and discuss and chortle over our insanity and what it means for us.

I do have to watch Twilight again this weekend as I am suffering withdrawal symptoms - it's been many weeks since I watched it last. I will start twitching like Bella soon. I planned to watch last weekend but my daughter was home and she would have laughed at me. And made me watch Jersey Shore reruns instead.

And - thanks a lot, you guys! - I am becoming a fan fiction junkie. Which is much more fun than reading SM over and over again.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I am not over it at all. First time for me to be so obsessed. And i am waiting for eclipse, it's the book I prefer. I am just a little worried about all the wigs, the make up, the dialogue... Everything which could ruin my pleasure. Maybe too much expectation. And we have to wait one week more here in France... But hopefully I live near one of the 5 Imax theatre in France! Eclipse movie will make say if I'm over it, so wait until 7th of July.
    Bises à toutes de France!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Im so not over it. Im just excited about Eclipse as I was about Twilight and New Moon. I also find the Eclipse version of Edward to be extremely hot and my 12 year old girl on the inside is going NUTS!

    ReplyDelete
  86. @kintail - I think you hit it on the head when you said "for me the obsession has been more fascination with the obsession rather than the obsession itself "

I think that's why JJ and STY started the blog in the first place and it's why I am so not over all things Twilight yet. I keep trying to understand why it resonates with me so much. And RPatz (and picturing him as Fifty) definitely help keep things interesting!

    ReplyDelete
  87. @Sandi - TRIPLE SHOW? As in Twi, NM, & Eclipse? WTF! I wanna go! That would be the best day HEVAAA. And I would totes sit next to you in the theater and we can go all Rocky Horror Picture Show/Riff Trax on the first two, essentially pissing off the tweeners. And we can bring flasks so we can drink during blink-ity blink-blinks, and moan like cheap h00rs. Especially during Angryward scenes, and leg-hitching *natch*.

    ReplyDelete
  88. @Ricks - ohhhh Fifty... yeah, Fifty will hold my interest (amongst other things) for some time to come, for sure! : )

  89. I love this post and its 88 comments, many from folks whose names I don't recognize. Good job STY bringing so many lurkers into the open to basically yell "Hell No!" in your face. It's reassuring. Ya'll be sure to come back and chat about your sex toys and stuff, k?

@Sophie, They'll have to take us down together, hon. I've said here several times that I wish they wouldn't make BD. I'm all for tacking Edward pulling Bella into deep water and a fade to black onto the end of Eclipse and calling it a day. BD's content is just too treacherous. Anyway, I don't think the hoors here will kill us for this opinion, but they're highly likely to make us eat our words when MouthFullofFeathersWard fries our panties off.

    ReplyDelete
  90. @HypoVag - i love each and every comment too - and new names - wooo!!!! c'mon lurkers, stick around! follow the blog!

p.s. so do you think i will scare people off if i blog about my trip to the spa on friday where i plan on getting into some very uncomfortable (mostly mentally - believe it or not I embarrass easily!) positions while an aesthetician goes to town on my girly bits with hot wax? [looks around furtively but pretty sure nobody i know irl reads the comments - whew!]

  91. I'm still twitarded compared to a "normal" person. Today I worked "Like wolves? Like real wolves" into a conversation that had nothing to do with Twilight. I just don't relate everything to Twilight anymore, and trust me....I used to. I had a one track mind in the beginning.

Even if Eclipse is a monster stinker that makes New Moon look like Citizen Kane, I'm not leaving the blogdom (but Twilight SagaPalooza's days may be numbered). You broads rock my stripey socks and keep me entertained on a daily basis. Ok enough mushiness. I'm still cold and dead inside.

BTW....Rob is still HOT and I look forward to his other movies WAY more than Eclipse and BD. I'm with Sister Snarkey.......they have really uglied Edward up. If he looked like that in Twilight I never would have been hooked. He's too fucking whiney in NM too.....I'd punch him in the balls if I were Bella. Picture #4 with the mannipped amber eyes is gross. He looks like he has BAFTA hair. Thank god you posted #5 and #6.

Hopefully Rob ages well cuz Cillian Murphy is nipping at his heels. Damn that boy is fine!

Did any of that rambling comment make sense? I think I might need one more Diet Coke.

    ReplyDelete

  98. @STY - If you include mini E in your (how did HV put it...)Monscaping pictorial...you will officially be my personal hero!

So, I went to the movies this evening with a non-twi friend and saw the Eclipse trailer for the first time on the big screen. And nearly lost my shit at Carlisle's "aaah-meee". My friend kept looking at me very confused as to why I was shaking with laughter during the entire preview....

    ReplyDelete
  99. i hope that i will never be "over it", despite the fact that my family and friends (the ones who i haven't converted) think i'm nuts. i need the world that SM created, the hot actors, and all of you girls to take my mind off of my house that's falling apart, my office manager who takes a gawd-awful stinky shit at work every morning and walks around with boogers stuck to his 'stache, and all the other RL crap that tries to drag me down. this obsession has made me feel like a teenager again and that's a feeling that i hope never fades.
vw: imidito- i must see eclipse imidito!!

  100. @Toefunny - well, mini-E went to the emergency room with me last year when I had a random scary allergic reaction to who-knows-what, so I don't see that he would have a problem with a little "riiiiip!!!" - he'll probably hold my hand again too.

  103. I'm less squee this time around, BUT Eclipse comes out the day before my birthday. SO, I'm not going at midnight like I did for NM, rather I'm going 2 days later on Friday to for my birthday with girlfriends.
And yesterday I bought tix for a me and a friend to go to the Eclipse Twilight Convention in Los Angeles next month. I'll be waaaaaaaaay in the back of the auditorium while RPattz, Taylor, and that h00r KStew talk on a panel. Same room tho, so that's gotta count for something!
I'll tell you what's really killing me is that Rob is fliming WFE 26.4 miles from my house. Yep, and I can't get NEAR the set cuz it's down a RR track. I think they're filming in various parts of town too but with 3 kids I can't exactly sit in Filmore all damn day. *le sigh*

So when I read this post I felt like I HAD to comment. I am SO NOT OVER IT. Its been over 2 years since I discovered twilight and though I cycle in my intensity I have checked my blogs daily!
