I'd Like To Show Robert Pattinson My Golden Globes.

I've mentioned before that I'm not a huge fan of awards shows. I think I need to amend that statement because I love the Golden Globes! I'm not sure if it's because everyone is having a great time drinking, eating, hanging out with friends and generally looking aMAZing, or maybe it's because it covers both movies and television - the best of both worlds if you ask me. Whatever the reason, I really enjoyed this year's broadcast. Ricky Gervais cracks my shit up even with his outrageously inappropriate comments. In case you missed it, here's a little sampling.

I will admit I didn't watch the live broadcast - not only would Mr. Latchkey have a complete meltdown if I made him sit through three hours of not being able to channel surf, but I still find bits of these types of shows a tad tedious and I must have the ability to fast forward through the crap I deem, well, crap. I definitely don't need to see the Hollywood Foreign Press president who looks like he needs two handlers to walk him out onto the stage, ala Weekend at Bernie's. And although I do love Robert DeNiro, I didn't have the 874 hours available to watch the whole Cecil B. DeMille Award presentation/acceptance.

This year's Golden Globes made me laugh, it made me cry and it made me drool on myself... hello Johnny Depp [who, btw, was nominated twice in one category and couldn't get it done! tsk tsk JD, no blowjob for you] and of course, the Preh-tay... but we'll get to him a little later, I promise. But to tide you over, here you go... don't say I never gave you anything.

Nom, nom, nom... bye bye panties.

So where was I? He makes my brain void of any intelligent thought. My highlights of the night were definitely Katey Sagal winning for Sons of Anarchy - such a great show that doesn't get enough attention. Chris Colfer and Jane Lynch winning for Glee and Glee winning also for Best TV Musical or Comedy. I love that show like a fat kid loves cake and I have to say it made me weepy that it did so well against some pretty heavy-hitting competition. Although I haven't seen Toy Story 3 yet, I was excited to see it kick ass in the animated film category - sometimes sequels don't do so well. The dude who accepted the award (I can't remember his name for the life of me) said this about Toy Story which was so spot on - "it's an animated movie that beats with a human heart." Awwww.... *sniff sniff*

Watching the GGs also made me realize there are a LOT of fucking movies out there that I need to see! The Fighter, The King's Speech, Social Network, Black Swan (although this one scares me just a bit), The Kids are Alright, Love and Other Drugs, Blue Valentine... when will I find the time?! And did anyone notice who won the award for Original Score in a Motion Picture? Motherfucking Trent Reznor scored the Social Network, I had no idea... one more reason I need to see this film, and give my tired copy of Eclipse a much needed rest. (Sorry, I've always had a soft spot for NIN.)

And so I waited, and waited for that one award. You know the one? The one you wouldn't have given two shits about any other year. The one where you'll normally get up to pee or get a snack when they announce it. The award for Best Foreign Language Film... fucking yawn. They made me wait exactly 1 hour and 35 minutes to ogle the Preh-tay and it was so worth it. I think.

And ah ma GAWD he's so beautiful I had to pause and stare. It was over so fucking quick I wanted to tit-punch someone. There was no witty banter, no joking around, just wham bam thank you ma'am... here are the nominees, and the winner is... ya, I have no idea who the winner was. Or the nominees for that matter. I was just focused on the jaw and the suit and the eyes and fuck, was there even someone else on the stage with him?

I guess I've made you wait long enough for the pictures and videos. So without further ado, I present your reward for sitting through my rambling Golden Globe jibber jabber. Sit back, grab your favorite battery-powered buddy and enjoy an extremely handsome, Gucci-clad RPattz in a navy blue suit that will make your panties disintegrate. No captions needed. Just pure, unadulterated, smoldering hotness.

Aaaaand the after party. Because you know Rob wouldn't go to an awards show without attending some post show soirees. I love that he spent most of the time hanging with his on-screen dad, PFach. If you ask me, KStew probably told Peter to keep an eye on him, and by that she meant, don't let him leave your side or else. Whatever... if I ran into that dynamic duo at a party, I'd totally have a stroke and die right in front of them, probably pooping my pants in the process. I bet they'd never forget me after that though, right?

And last but certainly not least, the videos. I generally, as you may know, get annoyed with the asinine questions asked of the Precious so I tend to try and find interviewers that I don't want to shank. I really enjoy both the chick from Access Hollywood and Josh Horowitz from MTV and it obviously appears that Rob is comfortable talking to them. Can I just add that the mouth breathing waste of oxygen that interviewed him on the NBC portion of the red carpet was a complete moron? And her dress was fugly too. Enjoy... we get bits of news for Water for Elephants, Bel Ami, Cosmopolis and Breaking Dawn... I love his laugh. I want to make his laugh my ringtone or text alert or something. It makes me smile.

So did you watch the show? Other than the obvious Rob sightings and such, what were your favorite parts of the Golden Globes?

All pictures and videos of Rob from Robsessed where you can go to find loads and loads of other awesome footage and photos! It's a virtual Rob-a-palooza over there. Holy motherfucking yum!

  1. Oh my gawd he was SOOO yummy! I don't know about you but I'm a huge fan of the new hair color on him. I think it works with his eye and skin color big time! SO lucky of that lady interviewer (I don't care enough to learn her name) to be able to touch his hair. His voice makes my pants melt right off.

I did watch the whole golden globes...besides the Rob sightings, my favorite part was when Chris Colfer from Glee won. I don't know what it is about that kid but he's been tuggin at my heart strings since day one and always manages to make me tear up or even cry. He's the cutest. :)

  2. Thankyou ever so much for posting the Access Hollywood and MTV interviews. You are a diamond among gems ! Unfortunately, I was limited to watching that biotch from NBC... I couldn't believe how rude and abrupt she was with our boy ! I was literally hissing and spitting at the tv screen. Not to mention her dress.. OMG... she looked like some old fuddy duddy governess that should be at home teaching proper British school children. How the 'ell did she get that job in the first place? I'm sure you or any one of us Twitards would have put her to shame in both interviewing talents and style! Well, enough of my ranting. Again, my sincerest Thank You for such a beautifully done blog. These pics of Rob will be the ray of sunshine that keep a smile on my face for quite some time to come.

  3. I am obsessed with Trent Reznor and he has been winning awards for the score like crazy! I saw him interviewed live in NYC just over a week ago and he is scoring The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo as well. I LOVE HIM.

Plus he smiled for pictures which he never does.

    I die. So cute.

(Yes, I drooled over RPattz too, but the night belonged to my boy Trent.)

  4. I watched the red carpet in live streaming (almost barf when I saw J.Bieber), and in the CNN feed there's this annoying papz that keep saying annoying things that makes me contemplate Euthanasia for jerks like him. Anyhoo, the Pretty didn't disappoint us this time, strutting in a Guci that's perfect on him. But to me, being a big Rob (stalker) fan, one of the best moment of the night is that they introduced Rob "from the film Water for Elephants" and no mention of Twilight. Don't get me wrong I love twilight (I'm here aren't I), but Rob is more than just a piece of that franchise and he needs to move on for the sake of his career and us Robh00r who rely in his continued appearances to keep us breathing.

  6. As always I crack up with your posts LKW and totally agree with you except when you say the guy from Glee deserved it. Come on! He was all mopey this season, it was way too overdone. I loved him last season but not this.

On the other hand Rob has made all my family hate me because due to my obsession I caused the electricity to blow up and everyone (there are 20 people in my house 'cause it's summer here) loathes me. I made them watch the whole show in the only TV that worked and I have to bribe them with cooking and baking for a week.

Thanks Rob! ut you were worth it. Even my Grandmother (97 year old)said I should marry a guy who is as handsome as him and my BF was in the room.

  7. I died at this line: I definitely don't need to see the Hollywood Foreign Press president who looks like he needs two handlers to walk him out onto the stage, ala Weekend at Bernie's.

I did not watch the Golden Globes. I trusted that someone would cull through the crap & link me to the good stuff.

The only thing hotter than RPattz wearing a tux is him not wearing a tux. Yowza!

  8. He was Gah-Damn Beautiful as always. I wasn't expecting to see him on the red carpet so of course my kids came in and started playing double light saber wars, and before I went ape shit and lost my fucking mind my husband scooted those kids out so fast it was like he didn't want to be there either????

Still trying to figure out why he was there.. don't get me wrong, I want him everywhere Was it his WFE promo?

I was relieved that he didn't bring KStew with him, then we would be talking about her lack of style and the trip on the carpet in hookered up 10 inch heels. Props to Rob for keeping his vampire wife on the set

    Cheers!

  9. Of course the only reason I watched the show was to see Rob! But besides Ricky G my favorite funny speech was Robert Downy Jr.! He was so hilarious. I wish that Rob had the confidence to come on stage and use his awesome sense of humor to do some funny bandering. He would be so great in a comedy! Did you see the comment by Olivia Wilde about how funny Rob was backstage?

  10. Holy shit balls! He is just so yummy.
It makes me all gooey inside and out.

I did not watch it. My husband was giving me the silent treatment...pissed about something Rob related I'm sure so I tried to play nice.

Of course I knew that he would be gone tonight and I could catch up.
My clit hasn't stopped twitching since I saw the first pic of him this morning while at work, ummm, working.
And then when I watched all the various videos this evening...

Good God almighty. It should be a crime for him to look that good. It literally blew my panties up.

    I mean seriously ladies,
my pubes are on fire over here...

  11. Oh Yeah, that Glee kid that won is from my town and I work with a friend of his.

It's always cool when someone you "know" makes it big. ;)

  12. I always adore award shows, I have no clue why but they make me giddy like a school kid.

My favorite moment was when K. Segal won because I friggin' love SOA and I think Kurt Sutter is magnificent as the EP and creator of the show.

I will begrudgingly admit that Rob did look good in that blue suit.

  13. I watched this show even before I had a reason to crouch in front of the TV and point wildly each time the camera panned over the 'RED' table. I loved it this year since there was so much diversity of good films and I thought Ricky was hysterical. Toughen up, Hollywood, or behave (yeah you, Charlie Sheen).

My favorite part - as Meg will attest when I called her to gush - was also when Rob was announced as 'from Water for Elephants.' He'll probably always be attached to the Twilight name but hopefully as a significant footnote of his career, not a joke. Oh, and I liked the way he filled out that navy Gucci. Holy hell.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I just_watched until I saw Rob :)

Hot damn that man was all kinds of sexy in that navy suit! I loved the short hair before but I love it even more with this new shade! #Redward

    ReplyDelete
  15. "ala Weekend at Bernies" PMSL!

Rob in Navy blue was purrrfect! A grown woman probably should not need to point at her tv screen and yell loudly, "THERE HE IS! THERE HE IS!" but I get a little caught up.

I loved Robert Downey Jr. His delivery cracked me up, and I'm so glad he's been given a second chance...err, ninth chance in Hollywood.

  16. I love awards shows, but it wasn't worth the fight with Mr. NotSmitten, so I haven't watched yet. I have blog surfed and ogled all the pictures repeatedly, but still need to find some time to watch the vids.

Poor Johnny Depp. I'll bet he didn't even realize how much was at stake when he lost the award!

The interviewer in the dress you hated, was it the red one? Cuz I know when I saw it I was like: WTF is with that granny dress?

Most importantly: Rob looked incredible. Better than incredible. It's pretty much unbelievable how fuckhawt he is.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Thanks for posting the other two video clips and all the pictures. I only saw the NBC red carpet and it was pretty lame. (Bimbette Nanny Reporter: "Why are you wearing shiny shoes?" Rob: "Really? Are you an effing idiot?" Ok, he didn't really say that though you know he was thinking it)

I enjoy Ricky Gervais' smartass sense of humor. It seemed to bruise some egos though so he is probably on GG's do not call list now.

Glee is my guilty pleasure. I'm glad I share that with some of you too, because everyone in my house thinks it's unwatchable. Chris Colfer and Jane Lynch are the best part of the show and I loved both of their acceptance speeches.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I love that you mentioned NIN...they have been and always will be my fav. As they read Trent's name, I was folding socks and my husband said "really? will he be there?" and without looking up, I replied "of course not"...and then...up he walks. Funny how time changes things!?! :-)

  19. He is just so beautiful. Ahhhhh...

  20. LKW, you are a goddess. Thanks so much for all the visual goodies. Yum!!! Gotta love that classy blue suit!

  21. @WAND - I actually didn't say I think the kid from Glee deserved the award... I was just happy he won because I'm a huge fan of that show. Knowing what I know and not having seen all of the actors' performances that were nominated, I would have picked Eric Stonestreet from Modern Family. He is frickin hilarious!!

I know I can't stop looking at these pictures. Rob looks so amazing I want to just DIE!

And a fairy Twitarded mother just emailed the link to this video of Rob talking about the BD picture from EW and it's hilarious... especially since he turns pretty red. Thanks MM!!

  22. Loving your recap LKW! Rob looked so damn good. I keep looking at all the shots and don't ask me why (I have no reason-boredom?) but I'm looking for faults and the man is just to damn beautiful. Seriously. I loved the Access Hollywood interview but I cannot believe that Mtv guy...did he really make an asinine comment about getting someone pregnant? I mean I know our ovaries burst with his sex stares and holding a baby but really? Robs reaction told me all I need to know it was nervous giggle/confusion because he was just talking about being on the WFE set, then his face was shock/shut-down.

  23. OMG that comedian was funny.

And that was it? I'm glad I didn't bother watching because if I had to sti through all that bullshit for a mere 30 seconds of the precious I would have been pissed.

    ReplyDelete
  24. As a film critic, it's mandatory that I watch.

Okay, I have several favorite parts: 1) Ricky Gervais is brilliant-just my opinion.
    2) Olivia Wilde's dress was insanely gorgeous. I WANT THAT MARCHESA BALL GOWN!
    3) Rob resembled a robot. Or he was deathly afraid of stepping on Olivia's dress. Dunno, he literally on for a few words.
    4) I died when Boardwalk Empire won, and Steve Buscemi. Both are well deserved.

Alright, I could ramble on and on.. I'll spare you. It was more blah than exciting, agreed.

  25. I actually tend to like award shows and the GGs are my fav. They're less uptight and I do like that it's TV and movies. Everyone seems to be more relaxed at the table setting than in auditorium seats. I love Ricky Gervais - he is so 'onery' but so right on and hilarious. I, too, was delighted that RPatz was mentioned for WFE and not Twilight. He's going to be a very big 'movie star' and I think his publicists and managers and agents are on top of it. Presenting at the GG gives him a lot of exposure and a chance to meet the 'big guns'. I don't think Rob was being a robot, he was being on his best behavior - I think he was probably told and he probably instictively knew that this was not the 'Teen Choice Awards' or even the 'People's Choice Awards'. This is the big time. I know that RPatz is very smart and getting smarter every day with regard to where his career can go, I know that oneday we're going to be entertained by his droll British sense of humor, but he's not ready yet, it could come off as inappropriately cocky (or we know it could also be a bit 'dorky, God bless him) he's not where Robert Downey, Jr. is yet, but he will be. I've been watching 'Entourage' since it's now in sydication and Mark Wahlberg is a genius. If you want to have an idea of the games and treachery and chicanery and double dealing that a young and upcoming 'movie star' has to learn to navigate, this is a great show to watch. I always think of RPatz in place of 'Vinny Chase'.

Also, why aren't we talking about RPatz in 'Comopolis'???? I mean this character is Fifty Shades!!!! The director, Cronenberg, obviously sees something in the Pre-tay that impresses him, as soon as Colin Farrell was out, Cronenberg's first choice was RPatz. I Googled 'Cosmopolis' and if RPatz can pull this off (and apparently Cronenberg believes he'll be able to get the performance from him) we'll hardly remember 'Edward' in Twilight, but MotU 'Edward'. I'm thinking ahead to what Biel can do with the footage from 'Cosmopolis'. Dear God In Heaven, we have some mind blowing movies comin up with our 'boy'.

  30. MY husband actually watched the whole thing with me-- thanks, Ricjy Gervais!-- and his comment regarding Rob was that Rob "doesn't even look human. He's like a pretty man robot." I thought that was pretty funny...

  31. I was amazed to see Trent Reznor has a suit!

NIN two summers ago was my first foray into what my daughter refers to as "my midlife crisis" ie: hitting concerts and the clubs. Love me my NIN!

And I think Rez actually said more than Rpattz. Talk about a gross misuse of the Precious! He should have handed out all the awards -- well, along with R. Downey Jr. They could take turns.
