Joan of Arc Snow White and the Huntsman Trailer Rocks!

Let me start by saying that I am aware that everyone is off catching up on all the Roblicious footage that's come out this week - I mean really - where hasn't that boy been? Maybe not in LKW's freezer or JJ's clown-filled home (yet), but he's visited just about eveywhere else! Rumors abound on Twitter that he might even be popping by the tent cities that have sprung up at the the Nokia Theater, where hundreds of people (and some Twitards!) are camping out ahead of the Breaking Dawn Premiere on Monday. I mean, Bodyguard Dean was openly casing the joint, sooooo... Some say he was probably just getting a look around before Monday, but I say Dean knows that Rob is a movie star attending a movie premiere and not a head of state giving a speech near a grassy knoll, and probably wouldn't be doing recon if something wasn't up. We shall see...

Be safe, defender of The Precious. We need him.

Anyhoo, the first full-length trailer for Kristen Stewart's Snow White and the Huntsman [I accidentally typed "Snot White" at first *snort*] movie surfaced on the interwebs this week, too, and I have to say that it's pretty impressive!

Looks like SnowStew has been spending some time with Latchkey Wife...

Sure, most of the focus is on Charlize Theron (and Thor/Chris Hemsworth) and I always get nervous when a main character has no speaking lines in a trailer, but... Honestly? I say "Well done!" JJ pointed out (not for the first time) that there is a very Joan-of-Arc-y feel to Kristen's Snow White, which is cool since nobody wants to see Kristen's character parading around all helpless and relying on a man to save her, you know? THAT would suck, I'll bet. Who would even want to see a movie like that??? But this - THIS - is pretty bad-ass!

I've heard some reference to Charlize's "mirror, mirror" delivery being a bit too-too, but c'mon, people - if you are an Acadamy-Award-winning actress and find yourself in a movie where the script calls for you to utter the  line "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?" you are going to have to have to go big or go home. She looks a little drag-queenie in that scene imho but what's fiercer than a drag queen talking to a mirror about their level of hotness? Or something like that. I actually have no real reference point here and I'm mostly delirious after this week so humor me.

I'm not sure if this movie has a release date yet (I'm kind of preoccupied with a certain other movie right now), but it should be out some time during the summer of 2012. Will you go see it? And why does the music in this trailer sound so much like the scary music they used in "Terminator" (please don't tell me I am the only one old enough to have noticed this, or I will be a sad panda)?

  2. I like it! Loves me some BadAss KStew. And Chris Hemsworth is one hot Aussie... he's come a long way since Home and Away... *Waits for other antipodeans or brits to get the reference*

  4. Lol at @Twikiwi50! You do realise there is 3 hot Hemsworth brothers? My son's girlfriend saw Liam at a Miley Cyrus concert in Melboourne & reckons he is even more gorgeous IRL.
Ryan Kwanten (Jason Stackhouse) was also in Home & Away (we call it Homo's & Gays in our house) it's like a breeding ground for hotties.
The movie looks good doesn't it? X

  5. @SLSookie - of course! I knew there were two, didn't know about the third.

Between Ryan representing Aus and Anna P flying the kiwi flag, True Blood is practically our show!

*whispers* H&A is my dirty little secret...

  6. I'm so there...I'm a LOTR and Game of Thrones dork so based on the way this trailer looks and the different interpretation (read: not"disney") this is right up my alley.

p.s. please don't tell me that music is from the terminator (I'd rather not relive those childhood nightmares)!

  7. I will see everything that she and Rob are in. It's all a little 6-degrees of separation thrill for me.

I've been gone for MONTHS thanks to RL or something, just coming back to check in with Twitardia. Good to see a lot of you still here.

And now I have to go check in with some fanfics. Haven't read any in...14 months. That means lots are now COMPLETE. Yay.

  9. He'll yes I'll see it. There's 2 snow white movies coming out in 2012. The first one is with Lily Collins and is more psychedelic. Tim Burtonish, but with bright color. This one with KStew looks more appealing to me. Darker and edgier.

  10. As an actress, you always think you could have delivered a line better, but she sounded pretty bad ass.

  11. I'm really excited for this movie. I think it actually looks good. And I don't say that about many movies.

  12. Gah, STY, why did you have to say that about the Terminator music? I didn't notice it the first time but now I do. That was the creepiest movie music ever.

  13. Hello, Twitardia,

I've been a lurker for a couple of years but decided to take the plunge and join in. I'm probably one of your oldest followers since I'm in my upper 60s but I guess I'm still young at heart.
Regarding the SWATH trailer, I thought it looked very LOTRish, and I'm ridiculously crazy about LOTR (and Game of Thrones also). I think KStew is going to do a great job and I think she looks gorgeous.

  15. Okay, normally I am cursing in the comment box that Blogger ate my spectacular comment but this time, I had to delete my own comment. I was so excited by the SWATH trailer my comment was riddled with typos. It was that good.

Anyway, I seriously got chills watching that trailer. I am a major sucker for fairy tales and fantasy (duh) and I think this looks awesome. I believe in the Stew - she's going to bring it. If Liv Tyler can pull off Arwen (and LT gained my respect and loyalty for life with her Arwen performances, I don't care how many Jersey Girls she ends up with under her belt), then I believe Kristen can deliver Snow White. No problem. I am going to see this opening night if I can get babysitting.

  16. Er, WOW! That was amazing! Gave me chills! Ok, I wasn't really that excited about this movie until that trailer. HOLY COW!!

  17. It looks great! I read in a mag at the hairdressers the other day that the Precious and Hemsworth nearly came to blows on the set when RP came to visit Kstew. I'm sure it's all made up but apparently RP was more than a little jealous and began making fun of Hemsworth's accent and the two had to be separated. Lol. will def go to see this but I agree that KS should have had a speaking part in the trailer?
And Twikiwi et al - are ye old enough to remember Guy Pearse in Neighbours?

  18. @Twirish - hell yeah I remember Guy Pearce! I was a massive Neighbours fan when I was younger.

  19. I'm a wee bit worried that KStew had zero speaking lines in that trailer but holyshit does that look awesome!! I truly hope this is going to be a great movie.

But it does irk the shit out of me that she looks more Joan of Arc and less Snow White.

  20. Will see it for sure.

Had the trailer before BD1 and I was impressed. I loved Charlize and her mirror mirror line.
