Breaking Dawn II to Feature Father-Daughter Duet

According to Hollywood Life, Robert Pattinson and Mackenzie Foy will be doing a father-daughter musical duet in Breaking Dawn Part 2. Or should we call it A Star Spawn is Born? Is this a Twilight movie or a fucking episode of Toddlers and Tiaras? I'm sorry but this is sounding just a bit too hokey for me. It looks like both Rob and Mackenzie will be playing the piano -- I think I'd be ok with this scenario if she maybe just sat there and watched.

Leave that kid alone for two seconds and this is what happens!

Are they going to have Kristen Stewart dancing a tap number to the song too? I'm sure Vamp Bella would be far more capable of pulling this off than regular clumsy Bella. But I digress...

I don't give a flying firetruck how cute that little girl is, this movie does not need to turn into the vampire rendition of the Sound of Music. If any other members of the Cullen clan are involved in this number, I'm most certainly going to puke in my popcorn.

The piano scene in Twilight was sweet and sexy -- actually one of my favorite scenes of the movie. This piano scene sounds creepy and... just creepy. It's been a while since I've read Breaking Dawn so please help job my memory. Was this in the book? I don't remember it but that doesn't mean anything. My mind is like a steel sieve.

What do you think this song will be about? Is RPattz going to serenade his half-breed spawn? If he is, he's going to have really hard time finding something to rhyme with Renesmee... or maybe not.

Oh my Renesmee...
What do you say...
Let's go into the woods today...
And eat some eer-day.

(Bet you didn't know I was fluent in pig latin.)

I truly hope this scene doesn't remind me of how I felt when I saw this...

*gag* *vomit*

So level with me... am I being too hard on this duet or what? How do you feel about RPattz having to share his piano spotlight with the kid? I'm still hoping it's some kind of cruel joke...

PS - Holy mother fucking shit on a stick! Breaking Dawn Part 1 DVD comes out on February 11th??? That's like right around the corner!! Oh please please please let there be some good extras on that thing!

  2. It's not in the book...Maybe Bella blocks that shit out with her bubble-thingy. I would.

    1. I would too... totally. Maybe Bella's smarter than we give her credit for.

  3. Yeah....I am not so sure how I feel about this. Maybe it will be some sweet moment where he is teaching her Chopsticks...that could be fun...maybe

  4. I can't think of anything that could be in BD2 that I'm looking forward to seeing. Really, except for the wedding and the honeymoon, that book sucked. Since these events were covered on BD1, I feel like it's over.

Except . . . it will be another opportunity for some Edward Eye Candy. I wish they had the Fast Forward Edward feature in the theater, but I'll have to wait for the DVD.

  5. Come on @TheRugbymom... we still have vampire sex to look forward to!

I've heard it's Renesme's lullabye. I'm hoping it's a piano duet with NO singing (or tap dancing) involved.

  6. Honestly, I don't usually trust Hollywood Life, but if it's true, I don't see anything about them singing. Just playing piano together. I have faith in Condon that he didn't make this hokey, just probably a little sweet bit :)

  7. I can't wait for February 11th! But I don't think there are any deleted scenes or Rob's lovely word vomit commentary :(

    Here's the extras:
6-Part Making Of Documentary (55 minutes)
    Jacob's Destiny (7 minutes)
Edward & Bella's Personal Wedding Video (9 minutes)
    Edward Fast Forward
    Jacob Fast Forward
Jump to... (character specific favorite scenes) according to the Italian DVD: wedding, honeymoon, Bella's pregnancy, the wolves, the Cullens

    1. I'm bummed that there won't be any deleted scenes or Robsten commentary. Boo!

    2. WHAT? No honeymoon scenes from the cutting room floor? No Rob crack? This sucks... I'm not even buying it. (And that's a big lie!)

  8. You know what, I love it. In the book stephenie shoved fucking Jacob down our throats, and frankly it annoyed me. I always thought that as Edward is renesmees daddy shouldn't he have had more time with her? Not fucking rose and Jacob. The whole situation was just creepy. So if they needed to add shit in the movie to make it look like father and daughter are bonding then so be it.

And like everyone else says, I don't trust it till I see it.

  9. I am not excited about this. Unless it's a mental future-seeing thing that Alice has in that head of hers. Or maybe the spawn is touching daddy's neck to ask him if he'll teach her? That would be okay, too...I just don't want to see 3 minutes of 3yo piano playing, even if she is a fucking genius.

  10. @Lila Vampire sex would be lovely, but I'm not holding my breath waiting for that. It will probably be more "just the tip"!

Having said that, watching Edward do anything will still be a treat! I don't even care if it's him running through the woods in slow motion with Anne of Green Gables.

@Lindsay Rae After seeing how badly the wolf telepathy translated to the screen, I'm a little worried about Renesmee communicating through touch, or Bella's mental shield!

    1. Ooooh, totally with you on the potential WTF with the touchy-talkie thing. Didn't even think about it in terms of the wolves, but it makes total sense.

Let's just go ahead and cross our fingers.

    2. I've been kind of afraid to think closely about how they're going to use Bella's "shield" and Renesmee "talking". I plan on keeping it that way for the next few months, at least. The wolf talking wasn't awful until THAT scene and then it was beyond fucking terrible.

  11. Definitely not in the book.
I keep checking the DVD release date to see if it's a mistake. Don't we usually have to wait 3 months or so once it's out of the theaters? I'm going to see it for $1 tomorrow at the local draft house. I need to start planning my DVD release party.....shit.

  12. OK, since you brought it up now is my chance to (boldly) ask: What is so bad about that running through the woods in the future scene from New Moon. Yes, they are dressed like a couple of extras from To Kill a Mockingbird, but the clothes are simple, no turtlenecks, khaki skirts, pea jackets etc. I don't melt when I see it, but I cannot understand why everybody wants to vomit either? What is wrong with it.
PS I do not want to see Rob in any kind of duet with a precocious child. Yuk.

    1. If this scene IS in the movie, there will be no containing the snickering and laughter coming from the Twitarded part of the theater on release day! I hope this is just a rumor...

And the clothes they are wearing in the "Alice's vision" clip totally ruined it for me - it looks like they are late to a costume party or something lol...It's just a...bafflingly bad wardrobe choice.

    2. I think the costumes were just so out of character somehow. It was weird and it was a pivotal scene (the first one where Alice sees them both as vampires) and the costumes absolutely ruined it. At least for me.

  13. @TheRugbymom ...Anne of Green Gables... nailed it LMAO
