Probably Not Coming Soon to a Theater Near You...

Jenny Jerkface sent me a link to this movie trailer last week and I was all what the WHAT?!!! So wrong it's right...

Note: if you are highly opposed to gratuitous violence in your movies, this might not be your cup of tea... If you are a fan of Bobcat Goldthwait (and dark, dark, daaaark comedy) please hit "play" and watch the trailer for "God Bless America" (but not in your office or around your kids unless everyone is cool with stuff like this...) -

Tell me you have never wanted to go a little (or a lot) further over a parking space dispute than Kathy Bates in Fried Green Tomatoes and I will call you a #$&*^%! LIAR or the next reincarnation of the Dalai Lama. One of those.

P.S. This might not be Bel Ami, but it is available for your pre-theatrical movie watching pleasure On Demand! Consider it a practice round - it definitely took some effort to track down this movie so that JJ and I could watch it last weekend, but it was totally worth it (and when Bel Ami comes to On Demand next month, I am READY).

  1. This is one of the best movie trailers I have seen in forever. It is probably going to scare my husband when I make him watch this. He thinks I'm a little crazy sometimes.

    1. I watched this first thing in the morning, per-caffeine, and thought I was going to have to have JJ committed... Then I watched it three more times in a row and declared it GENIUS. : )

  2. I don't think any of us can watch this movie because it said for mature audiences only. I snorted like a 12 year old boy just writing that. Looks awesome! And I don't think Tawanda would shoot someone. Oh no..just got visual of that dude in a saran wrap dress.

    1. *snort* true - but I think this is more for the likes of us than 12-year-old boys. Someone might call CPS if you let the younguns have this one (although I am sure it is a thousand times less violent/gory than most M-rated video games - or at least a liiitle less...).

  3. So THAT'S what's going through Jenny's mind on the subway!? LOL That looks hilarious.

  4. OMFG it's like Bobcat climbed into my head and copied all the dirty things from my very full mental chalkboard.

  5. Oh mah God!!! That was awesome! Everyone's daydreamed about taking out a Kardashian, or a pretetious douchebag like Paris Hilton. I literally hate when a reality tv star like Snookie is rewarded for her stupidity! It makes me wonder what's wrong with society?

This movie will be therapeutic to many of us.

  6. Aaaaagh! I've said it before, and I'll say it again: "Only In America" ;-)

Actually, I was a little sad that the amazing Bobcat himself didn't show up in the movie; then I saw in the end credits that he wrote this. Yep. Figures. I've always been a fan of his crazy arse, and especially his voice! Cracks me up even thinking about it.

(WTF? Blogger is trying to correct my spelling of 'arse'. Well, take that, Blogger *aims and fires* :-) )

I wonder if this movie will become available in the UK? The BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) are a little shy of gratuitous violence... :-(

Great post - and thanks for putting this on my radar!

What everyone else said....plus...how cool is it to have something on this level of epic crop up from an old 80's icon who I wasn't even sure was still living?!?!? Can't wait to see this!!!

    1. I have to admit, if you had quizzed me, I wouldn't have been 100% sure this guy was still kicking, wither - so many of his peers haven't made it. Boo.

    1. Love finding out who the fellow wackadoodles are (this more than other things lol) - I hope I didn't horrify too many people with this - if I did, I blame JJ.

  11. This actually looks pretty amusing -- and I agree, it has JJ written all over it.

Bel Ami is going to be "On Demand"? Like on cable on demand? Before it's in the theaters? So I'll have the moaning under control before I have to see it in public?

  13. This looks like it's just up our alley. I showed the preview to The Bentist, and he's stoked. I am not a stranger to the Finger Gun when people do stupid shit, so it's going to be epic when I get to see people actually going postal!

    Take that, American Superstar!
