Disturbance in the Forks: v. 2012

Back when we first started this crazy Twilighty ride, I said I would never go to Forks. And then I did. And I said it would just be that one time, and I would never go back again. Until we did... This year? Yours truly and the rest of the Twitarded lllllaaaaaiiidies will not be in attendance (unless we win the lottery or score a Sugar Mama), but you can still go and hang out with a bunch of like-minded Twitards this October!

That's right - it's the 2012 Twitarded-y excursion to the Pacific Northwest! The lovely Double Dippin' is heading up the charge this year. Count your blessings - if JJ and I were in charge, we would double-bill it as the "Twitarded Master Cleanse Trip" and instead of figuring out how many pizzas and nachos and pieces of corn and barbeque chicken a hundred or so people can eat, we would just be serving up pitchers of cayenne/maple sugar lemonade and call it a day. Some of us might keel over from lack of calories, but think of all the fun we could have wreaking havoc on the plumbing at the Forks Motel and discussing our epic bowel movements!

This + some booze = The Twitarded Spa Diet at Forks.

Er, anyway - if you have never been to this area and are looking for an excuse to go, do it! The PNW is a definite "don't miss"/bucket-list destination in my book, and as soon as I figure out how to coax Mr. Snarky on to a plane (or how to afford a tricked-out Airstream), I am absolutely going back there again. It is THAT awesome.

You never know who you might encounter in the woods...

If I didn't adore my home town to pieces, I would seriously consider moving to Seattle in the hopes that Vitamin R70 would invite me over on the weekends for bacon and brunch cocktails...

Here's the low-down on the trip so far, compliments of Double Dippin' -

So Foorks so far is a small group of about 30 give or take. Some are meeting in Seattle early in the week to sight see. Myself and a few others are staying the night in LaPush on Thursday and Forks Fri-Sun. We are looking into meeting up at the Mill Creek Tavern one night and the Forks Bowling Alley the other, as well as hiking and the beaches. We are gathering 2nd weekend of October so for me Oct 9-14th. We do have a Public Forum here and anyone that wants to join us is more than welcome!

You can go to the forums with questions or to find out about sharing rides/rooms/Edward Cullen standees for the trip... And if you stay in "our room" at the Forks Motel, make sure to pour a lil' bit of your cocktail out for your Twi-homies who couldn't make it! {{{sniff}}}

May the Forks be with you...

  2. If I remember correctly, the lady at The Forks Motel told us if we came back again next year we would get 25% off the cost of the room. Does anyone else remember that?

    1. Yes, and then someone said they had different owners...but I will call in the am and see what they say...

    2. I'm sure that regardless of the owners, they will be happy to work out some kind of a deal! We've been good to them and they're been good to us, but it's not like the Twilighty tourists are rolling in the way they used to, sadly.

I'm very bummed that we won't be there with you guys! We'll definitely be there in spirit...

    1. I hope you have an amazing time - I am sure you will! I don't think I can make any suggestions that Ma and Pa Cullen won't have lol...

  4. I don't need your cayenne/maple sugar lemonade to destroy the plumbing in the Forks Motel, I did that last year! Also destroyed the closet toilet on the Southwest plane coming home. Just give me a potato bite hot pocket. It's all Josievamp's fault!!

  5. If you can go, folks, DO IT. It's beautiful. And fun. And the lovely little twatwaffles putting this together are amazing people. I really, REALLY wish I could go.

Instead, I'll just secretly hope that I walk into a bar in NYC during the Breaking Dawn II premiere and all of you are there. THAT would be even better than Edward.

  9. My dream now, as last year, is to visit all the original movie sites around Portland, Bella's house, Cullen house, the place overlooking the Columbia River where the prom was held, etc. etc., it's all there, and in a fairly small area.
And then drive to Forks. I would like to be photographed for posterity lying on my back in a Bella jacket and mittens on the sidewalk in front of the real house. But seriously no one else would ever want to visit the Ur movie sites?

  12. I would so love to do this again, but its not in the cards for me...sadface. I will seethe with jealousy while watching your tweets on "The twitter" while it happens and drink to all the H00rs in the PNW and those that are not.

Could someone get me a HOH sticker? Snarkier had one in the raffle last year and I was sad that I didnt win it. Since I came back I have been wishing I had one.

  13. I plan to go - I hope to take hubby and Living with Edward with me again. I adore this area. But I am also up for trying Portland in 2013 - maybe on the way to Twitards in Hawaii 2013??? Can't wait to see all of you who can make it. Definitely will miss all of you who can't make it.

JJ - don't forget to loop me and Living with Edward for any November plans ;)

  14. It's pretty hard to stay away when I live so close! This year I SWEAR I am driving up to Hurricane Ridge, going shopping in cute PA stores and thoroughly checking out the lake. I'll attempt to drag some Forks virgins along so everyone has to promise to be on their best FORKS behavior so said virgins can see what they've been missing the last 2 years.

  15. I must make this happen. I am too fucking close now to miss out.

  16. I decided that this year I should probably plan to go on vacation with my husband (psssh) since we haven't been anywhere in nearly 6 years. I totally tried to talk him into flying out to Portland, OR and driving up to Seattle, then to Vancouver. No dice.

I will agree with everyone, if you CAN make this trip, you should GO! The Olympic Peninsula is such a beautiful, amazing area and Forks is pretty cool too.

  17. Oof. I was so bummed and excited that there was another trip planned! I am starting back at school full time for the next two years, and my availability is limited, as is my cash flow. However, I will be there the for the BD2 premiere/my late 30th bday party so if anyone wants to come out for that, the more the merrier!!
