OMEJMFHF IT'S HERE! Psyched! And Sad...

Hi! Sorry it's been a while... We've kinda dropped the ball here, almost four years in. FOUR  YEARS! I feel like we have let you down. As The Grande Finale approached it was hard to wrap my head around it. I have such mixed feelings - when we started this blog, 2012 seemed as impossibly far away as Edward is impossibly fast and strong. And yet here we are, almost four years and TWO MILLION page views later. The weird thing? We got our 2,000,000th page view TODAY, according to Blogger stats. The EXACT SAME DAY as the U.S. release of Breaking Dawn II. How's THAT for a coincidence??? I had long guestimated that the two would happen at roughly the same time, but it's kinda eerie on some level that it's the same freaking day. In a good way. I think...

Anyway, I've been following along this past week - Tent City in LA, the press tour,  Kristen Stewart's "I refuse to wear clothes you can't see through" bender -

Granny panties and see-through lace! Also? Nice ass (not that I was wondering...) & she looks gorgeous.

Nipple-cover-uppers and see-through and lace!

OK - JEEBUS! We get it! You're gorgeous!
Now put some clothes on before you catch the death of you!

But of course it didn't matter, because she had the best accessory of all time on her arm (and I am not going to address the whole "Kristen Stewart Took a Shit in My Happy Place" debacle here - maybe another time but it bummed me out too much to write anything witty about it so probably not - moving on!) -

A little "cat who ate the canary" smirking... Well played. *slow clap*

Rob wore green houndstooth (that apparently he apparently picked out and had custom made) and a fresh haircut. I kinda wish he hadn't gotten a haircut - he was almost at Rome Rob hair epicness! - and didn't loooove the suit, but the whole package was still magically delicious -
He could wear puce polyester jorts and still be the hottest dude on the black carpet (sorry, wolf-pack).

Well now you're just being a TEASE! Carry on...

Stephenie looked amazing, too, and girlfriend has worn some dud outfits in past years.

London - *swoon*

Really the only thing keeping me going right now is the fact that there will be LOTS more red carpet struts in his future - near and distant. I am not keeping track, but I am pretty sure he already has something like 27 dozen other movies in the works. Give or take.

The other thing that makes me feel ok about the end of this particular era? All of you. The lasting friendships out there that started here and in other corners of the Twidom and have done nothing but get stronger over the years. But we'll have plenty of time to reminisce and plan future hijinks. For now, let's just stay in the moment and have our last Twilight-y SQUEEEEE moment. Tonight I will be in a local theater hopefully wedged between JJ and Myg (sadly LKW, Texas Katherine, and VitaminR couldn't be here for various reasons - *sniff*), where I will be squeezing their respective hands like my life depends on it and snot sobbing all over them (consider yourselves warned, ladies - bring wipes). Speaking of warnings, I have never actually seen a Twilight movie on opening night where it wasn't an adults-only group, so this should be...interesting. Please make sure the bail fund hasn't run dry because I am reasonably sure that "clocking a loud tween" is punishable (even though it shouldn't be).

We'll be coming back to post and hopefully we can all get uber-sappy, but more immediately, what are you all doing for this last hurrah??? Those of you who have been lucky enough to have already seen the movie, please no spoilers in the comments - and I MEAN IT. Don't make me come after you - I know where a lot of you live. Smooches!!!

  2. I just seriously want to sob right now. The amount of love I have for you all.... I can't even explain it. I have never been so thankful to have met a group of people. Everyone in this fandom is amazing. It's hard to find a few friends who support each other, take each other as is and don't judge... and here we've found more than a few. I'm sad that it's over but how can I be when it's brought me so much happiness? Tonight while I'm watching BD2 for the second time, I'm sure I'll be sobbing. Not only because it's over but because I wish I could go back in time and have met you all earlier. I don't remember what life was like without you all in it. It's definitely brighter and a bit dirtier. I love you h00rs more than you'll ever know. You are my life now. And Forever.

    2. Ditto.

Also I think that 17ForeverLisa nailed it (along with Dr. Seuss) with this "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened"/ForeverWard post -

'scuse me... I'll be in the corner with the 4 year old dust bunnies, sobbing...

    Love you h00rs forever.

    2. I found the roll of TP from Rob's trailer (underneath a winkled copy of GQ) for our snotty tears.

Thanks for being so dedicated, awesome, and HILARIOUS all these years.

  4. I can't believe it's almost over. I'll never forget how amazed I was to find this universe of women who found themselves in the same position...inexplicably OBSESSED with a teen fantasy romance. Although I kept my dirty little secret from my family, co-workers, and all but one friend (who was equally obsessed), I found this crazy internet world where I could fangirl (and laugh and cry) to my heart's content. And by dirty little secret I mean my hours and hours perusing twilight blogs, Robert Pattinson sites, and fan fiction which I never even knew existed before. How else was I to learn that Rob liked Hot Pockets, Martin Amis and used to be dressed up like a girl by his sisters? I would never have discovered smut like I've never read before and lived to see it get published as a phenomenon of its own. But far and away the best was discovering this blog. I've never laughed so hard and felt a common sisterhood anywhere else. I've tended to be a lurker more than a commenter over the years but let me say now...THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

  5. I am super excited for tonight with 7 of my twilighty friends but I bet I might cry as well. I live this blog & all the people it brought together. It's amazing how different people can be & still come together to be such amazing friends. I love all of you!!! I will surely see you all on twitter & blog waffles!

    1. That is one of the most amazing things to me - and it was revelatory! SO many different kinds of people - people we would have never met let alone become best friends with! - all coming together (and staying together). Still blows me away.

  6. Saw BD2 two days ago and have had some time to process. It was such a great experience and it felt like a tribute to a loyal fanbase. I was also lucky to release a book at the screening which summarised several years of my work on Twilight so in a way it was a both a fandom and professional closure of sorts. And it was perfect. So excited for all of you guys who have yet to experience BD2!! Savour the moment!

    1. ok you have to tell us more about this book!

I saw it last night and I'm STILL savoring the moment today. I might need a matinee...

    2. :) <3 It's on tourism in the wake of the Twilight Saga, or "Twication" as we call it. Twitarded's trips to Forks is actually mentioned in it! I don't want to use this forum to promote the book but if you want to know more check out @TwilightAcademy on Twitter/FB or Google Twication and I'm sure you'll find it. :)

I'm totally going to a matinee this weekend. Or two...or three.

Let me also thank you guys for the best blog out there. Naturally, I'm migrating with you to blogwaffles, I'm never letting you go!

  7. Whew! I was worried there for a minute that you guys had closed up shop.
Okay, so maybe I've had a little wine, but this whole ending-of-an-era thing is really bumming me out. I lived to read these blogs to get me through work! Now what am I gonna do? Anyhow, it's been a blast reading your stuff, snd should you decide to take up another fascination (Channing Tatum? Any takers?), I'll jump on that train too! Thank you so much!

  8. I got tricked out of seeing it tonight. My usual theater was under construction (unbeknownst to me) so all other theaters sold out that much faster. Then two days ago they opened but DH had already received my permission to leave town. So now I will have to wait as I'm trapped with the offspring.

I have to say the most bitter part of this bittersweet time for me is the phasing out of Twitarded. I came into the Twilight Saga later than everyone else, after the first movie was out on video. I knew at the time I was hooked and felt alone with my irreverent opinions and alone because DH was deployed and I had no friends for 3000 miles, literally. So I'll never forget the first time I discovered Twitarded, I was at an On The Border, sipping on a margarita. I was looking for New Moon reviews and came across JJ's. You had me at "Jasper goes apeshit..."

Margarita went up my nose and JJ filled my heart. So this whiskey's for you ladies...(damn that's good, here's a few more to you!)

The best part of Twilight is Twitarded. I know we've never met but I love you guys and there had better be reviews.

Also I am sure the offspring would be absolutely FINE fending for themselves for a few hours. (says the person who would make the world's worst mom). (j/k. although a little duct tape would probably work wonders.) ; )

    2. Oh I definitely intend to be stuck with you and blogwaffles for a while, deal with it. :D I'm just sad the Twilight midnight showings and resulting hilarity are tapering off...

  9. I've started writing and erased this post 3 times now. I don't know how to write just how much I've liked being amoung my peeps with this blog. I know, I know..everyone is still alive and kicking over at blogwaffles (don't get wrong - faithful reader here) but this ending of an era makes me sad. I also am more of a lurker, I've posted comments from time to time but usually by the time I've recovered from blowing my drink out my nose from some smartass thing one of you said...someone else posted a comment that perfectly reflected what I was thinking. That kinda sums up how cool you all are. I went to Forks (and especially LaPush) on my own (husband climbed Mt. Rainer for his 40th) and then I come onto the blog when I return and you biotches start planning your own trip - I would have LOVED to have reworked that to meet you guys. But eventhough I never did..I know ya. Really I do. Just like you all know me. Rock on, my friends.

    1. I wish you could have been in Forks when we were there, too! We'll have to plan some sort of anniversary get-together in the future (omg did I just say that???).

And between you and me, I've been having fun at blogwaffles, too, but there's something about this silly snarky Twilight blog that still makes my heart go pitter-patter. Especially at moments like this one.

    1. I think I need an at-home marathon this weekend (I am not sure how my husband will like this idea but if I make snacks he might be in!). Also possibly another BD2 viewing. Maaaybe. How was the marathon??? I just imagined my ass falling asleep mid-way through Eclipse lol...

  11. I completed the marathon as well last night and it was the first time I've done anything like that. Even for the rest of the Twilight films, I've never done the midnight showing but usually catch it something opening weekend. It did not disappoint (to be fair..yes, your ass falls asleep mid-way through Eclipse but they give you ample breaks between movies to stretch and get more yummies). I went with a group of 8 and only knew one of them. We snuck in wine, cheese/crackers and ate them on plates with faces of Edward and Jacob. It sounds silly but it was laid back and sooo fun. It was definately the way to segway into BD2. I have another viewing planned for Monday with a friend that isn't a superfan but "normal" (you know what I mean ~ don't give me that look!). Should be interesting to watch HER reactions to the things I know are coming. he he he!

  12. I will be watching tonight w/my 2 favorite people, my 18 year old daughter (who introduced me to Twilight when she was in the 7th grade!)and my 10 year old son :) Thank you ladies for giving me a place to come to when I needed a laugh or to make myself feel that I wasn't a total loser for being in LOVE with the series!

  13. I have missed your posts guys :( Blog waffles is good but Twitarded has a special place in my heart, not least because I didn't have to feel like I was losing my mind anymore once I found you all. Not that it was definitive proof that I wasn't losing it, but at least I wasn't alone!! There's something cosy about it here, like a warm hug and then there's the filthy stuff that makes me laugh like a hyena. Thanks for it all xx Ps haven't seen the movie yet, so looking forward to it!!!

  14. I have actually never posted before but thought I would jump in and stop being shy. I feel like I know all of you so well even though I have never spoke up. I went with my 17 yo son to the premiere last night. The film was just amazing. Laughed a bunch and cried so many tears! We can't wait to go again! I can't wait to hear the Twitarded review of the film! :)

  15. First of all... who in the hell got a hold of Stephanie. She looks about 25 in that picture! Did she do a total make-over and loose a ton of weight or what?

Second of all... I went with a friend to the 10pm show here. It was fabulous and I want to thank whatever movie gods made it possible to show it before midnight (although I swear last time they did it at 8pm, but whatever... 10pm is better than midnight).

  16. Hi, h00rs! Why so sad, hmm? As long as we have our hidden shrines, books, dvd's, tote bags of mags, RobP0rn files, fanfic, etc, etc...."forever is just the beginning"...

I know, I know, it's the last "new" movie...doesn't matter to me, how many times have I watched Twilight now, 2.3 million or so? And I always find myself breathless when HE enters the caf?....so, I anticipate many happy hours in Twilightville...anyway...

I, too, must thank you ALL, for convincing me I did NOT need to have myself committed to the nearest psych ward as I processed the depth of my fall into obsessive compulsive Twitardedness. Really. It was a close one, and my son still thinks he should stage an intervention...whatever...I've never been happier, isn't that ridiculous? That this book series and movie saga means that much to me? I attended the marathon yesterday-and never once worried that I would look weird for wearing all my Bella bling and my New Moon Tee, and take pics of my Mini-E's...and sob so hard I needed CPR...this is so not the "before" me...but guess what? I really like the Twitarded "after" me! So, yeah, thanks...you made it ok for me to love this so much, this inexplicable delight in Twilight! Love you all as much (ok, almost as much....) See you here? and at BW? on Twitter? Coz once a Twitard always a Twitard!!!

  17. As soon as I finished watching my marathon of all the movies this week, I came over here because I knew you guys wouldn't disappoint with a BD2 premiere post! I'm so happy I found you ladies 3 years ago (has it REALLY been that long?!) before New Moon was released. That first post I read still makes me snort (the one where JJ was fan girling in the bathroom at work). I've read every single post since then and I've enjoyed every distracting minute you've provided! I'll be watching BD2 today at an adults only theater that serves booze after going to a couple of wine tastings just outside Seattle (just moved here from MA). Looking forward to reading your hilarious review!!!

  18. Total lurker here and maybe have posted 5 times since first visiting Twitarded over 3 years ago. What can I say, I’m shy. All the comments so far really resonate with me and I have to thank all you ladies for this great blog and all the fun following along with your opinions and hilarious comments on Twilight and life. Twitarded has been my main portal into the whole Twilight fandom and fanfiction and I will be forever grateful to you all. I dragged 10 of my fellow family members along to BDPt2 last night and even the non-Twilight fans in the group really enjoyed the movie. My two teenage nephews came along and actually loved it. The audience in the theatre was very engaged and laughed and clapped and cheered at all the best parts which made it such a memorable experience. The movie was fantastic! Kudos to Bill Condon and for Summit for having the foresight to hire him. Edward was absolutely stunning!! I’ll be following along with your blogwaffles and am always amazed at how you think all that stuff up.

  19. G'day! Went to the midnight viewing in Maroochydore Queensland Australia last Wed the 14th. Went to dinner with friends then we saw BD pt1 at 9.30pm. The staff were all in costume. There was a wolf, members of the Volturi, Laurant, Jasper and Bella in a hoodie. Came out of the 9.30 movie to a foyer full of people totally pumped up! DJ was playing. Was lots of fun. Saw BDpt2 at midnight and just loved it. What a wonderful way to finish it off. Loooooooved it!!!!!
